Tyson the Terrible

Rate this book
Stegg, Serra, and Plod are playing soccer when they suddenly hear BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! in the distance. This can only mean one thing, of Tyson the Terrible is coming! With his scaly skin, horrible horns, and gigantic jaws, he’s the biggest, meanest, scariest dinosaur around! These dinosaurs better run for cover before Tyson gets there . . . shouldn’t they? With bold illustrations that saturate every page and a surprising pop-up ending, this is a story that begs to be read aloud.

A fantastic book that teaches young children not to judge others by their appearance. We all go through a period when we tend to be very superficial; and children can sometimes decide to not play with other children based on this. This book may be helpful in getting a small child to see why this is the wrong way to judge others.

Great, fun, colorful illustration that will catch and keep a kid's attention. This book is bound to be a favorite for years to come.

Stegg, Serra and Plod are three little dinosaurs who are enjoying a game of football when they hear a loud noise approaching.

They quickly realise that it is Tyson the Terrible, the fiercest dinosaur in the world. They look through their bin-rock-ulars to look for him as they tell each other that he is the ugliest and scariest ever. They are aware of this because they have seen him on the cover of the 'Dinosaur Weekly' magazine!

They carry on discussing his frightening tendencies but when he arrives they are in for the biggest surprise yet as a large pop-out dinosaur on the final double page allows them, and the readers, to meet him!

A fun story and very colourfully illustrated.

This colorful book was equally loved by both my toddler son (almost 2) and preschooler daughter (almost 4). The illustrations are clever and make use of "multi-media."

My toddler son loved the cover, and the illustrations of Tyson with all his teeth. My daughter was able to appreciate the story. It's a lot of fun to read out loud.... and it's hard not to get animated because the text cues you so well (certain words are emphasized by being written bigger etc and the BOOM BOOM BOOMs are plentiful, which made me read it out loud more dramatically).

This book had nice bright colors and illustrations, but what I loved most about it is that it is super fun to read and my little one was completely interested in it. We have read it over and over and over again with the same excitement as the first time.

This is a goofy, brightly-illustrated picture book with a storyline reminiscent of the old campfire tale "Wait 'till Martin Comes." With all of the sound effects and short, simple story, it would make a nice choice for read-aloud to a group.

Gravel paste 🤣 So many funny side jokes in this book. Some dinosaurs are playing soccer, and then they talk about why the T-Rex is so scary. But the T-Rex is sad and lonely because no one wants to play with him. Surprise ending.

A fun story about dinosaurs that teaches a lesson about not making assumptions about people before you meet them. The illustrations are very colorful and the narrative is simple and short. Our girls enjoy watching this book read aloud on the "Tumblebooks" online audiobook site (tumblebooks.com) and they've borrowed it a few times from the library.

Cute story with a double surprise ending, but the kids I read this to didn't seem to know what to make of it. They definitely liked all the BOOM BOOM BOOM parts, but I think the finale just didn't quite work for them.
