What a dark steamy read!!! It's like a twisted version of beauty and the beast,just the beast is a dark and dangerous guy named Viktor who likes it extra rough!!! Viktor hasn't felt a women's touch in many years because of a attack from a crime boss that left him scarred and disfigured,so when lexi is hired to dance for this beast what starts out as easy money leads to her becoming viktor's prisoner. But lexi and Viktor have a lot in common,both are strong survivors who have done what that has to survive. This story is a fast pace tale with a strong erotic theme with very adult language and very descriptive sex scenes. Very well written and the plot is well done. And cover is perfect!

The figure behind the curtain moves his hand and the music starts to play. I close my eyes and take a breath, eliminating my thoughts and transporting myself to another world. At this moment, I am no longer Alexis; I am no longer that girl with all her responsibilities and history. I am simply a woman. A dancer. A seductress.
As the lights dim, my arms start to move to the rhythm of the music. I undress slowly, sensually, putting emphasis on every inch of my skin as if it’s precious. I lick my lips and twirl around the chair, showing off my bare skin, as my dress falls to the floor and all that’s left is a see-through thong and bra.
My body moves on its own as I dance, almost possessed. Music is the food that feeds my soul and takes the pain away. But when I open my eyes and see him standing there, I can’t help but look. Even through the curtain, which isn’t as thick as I thought it was, I can see his complete silhouette. A big mass of muscles. Bigger than any man I’ve ever laid eyes on. It takes my breath away quite literally.
And all of those muscles are bundled at one spot.

I suck in a breath and sway my hips to the music, watching his hands move up and down, front and back. My nipples tighten from the sight as I watch him jerk himself off right in front of me. I shouldn’t be aroused, this isn’t about me, but my body knows what it likes, and it doesn’t care. I wonder if he knows that I can see him … if he even cares.
I blink and turn around the chair again, but at the second turn, my eyes can’t help themselves anymore. I gorge myself on his body, watching him speed up, pumping himself. The harder he goes, the faster I move. It’s as if we’re both grounded in the moment and joined by movement alone. The music booms through the speakers, but the silence between us is chilling.

Anxious to see where this is going, I speed up the pace and grind on the chair like a class act, which gets him all pumped up. I watch him intently from behind my lashes, making sure it’s not too obvious. Pants and soft groans are audible underneath the tone of the music, creating goose bumps across my body.
He sounds like a goddamn beast.
As the music comes to an end, and I make my final move, he releases himself, and the silence returns.
I wait, heavily breathing, sweat dripping down my body, my pussy pounding between my legs. Nothing happens.
But it should.
He never said I could stop.

Loved, loved the writing! I was hooked from page one. Even though this wasn't a forbidden romance it read as one because the author created such an enigmatic atmosphere!
Lust and passion sizzle throughout the book and you can feel the raw feelings!
I'm obsessed with her to the point that it could mean my death.
She's beyond dangerous...she just doesn't know it.
I loved how the characters evolved and how Alexis made Viktor feel...normal.
"You shouldn't have to look at this."
"At what?" she smiled. "I don't see anything except you."
There is danger and amazing twists and turns in this tale! Clarissa Wild managed to create a fascinating modern fairy tale and I can promise you that you will be hooked!

I actually really enjoyed this book. It kept me full of questions and that made me not want to put the book down at all. I kept wanted to read more just so I could find out the answers I was looking for.
Not only was this a suspenseful read, but it also was very hot when it came to the bedroom scenes. Viktor and Alexis had intense sexy scenes that were balanced quite nicely through out the book, rather than taking over the story. It was done quite well, and now I am eager to read more of Clarissa Wild's work.
I am glad that I gave this one a chance, and it was refreshing to read a stand alone again instead of wondering if I would be left with a cliffy!!!

This book was a beautiful, modern remake with a twist of a classic, loved fairytale.
Clarissa managed to nail this book. She had the storyline and plot down to a tee.
It was HOT. Viktor (AKA... My BEAST!) is very HOT!
The sexiness of the book is indescribable and if you love hot smut then this is the book for you.
The depth to the characters was incredible. The author did an amazing job telling their story. It's one of those book that will stay with you for a long time even after you've finished reading it. The classic side to it makes it hard to forget it.
I very strongly recommend this book and this author to fans of Jade West. If you like erotica, romance and hot guys, then this is for sure the book for you! :)

I was happily surprised with how much I really likes this story.
I most definitely will be reading more from this author.

This is my second book of Clarissa Wild and similar to what I experience while reading her previous work Twenty One there are some suspension of disbelief and when the story ended I still have a lot of questions swirling in my head. I feel like the author need to spend more time tightening up her plot a bit to avoid loose end. The good thing is, Clarissa always manage to keep me engage with her characters, the plot is never dull and before I realized it, I finish the whole damn book on one sitting.
Viktor Melikov is the beast in this story. A scarred man with a secret past living in a mansion with his helper, Winston. He often hired women to dance for him while he hide behind the curtain, but when he saw Alexis, the first woman who dare to actually look at him, the last thing he expect was how their lives were so closely intricate.
Alexis Kidd is a whore who was hired to strip and dance for an elusive man at his mansion. She lives with her sister, Alisha, who is a thief and together they survive with their illegitimate work. When Alisha make a rash decision to break into Viktor's mansion, Alexis paid the price when he decided to keep one of them.
I love reading about Beauty and the Beast retelling and this one started off great with Viktor's elusiveness and grumpiness and his overall vulnerability did capture the essence of a tortured and scarred hero awaiting for the one woman who can love him for who he is. His POV also came off with a little hint of humor in it that make him likable instead of being an all out jerk with a stick up his ass.
Alexis came off as naive at first, when she didn't even bat an eye when she have to enter the creepy mansion all by herself. But I guess being a street rat all her life, nothing faze her. I find her growing affection for Viktor believable and happen quite naturally. But the interaction between these two especially when it came to whether Viktor allowing her to leave or not, I had a severe whiplash. Come on, dude, make up your mind.
During the first sex scene, although is really hot and arousing, I can't stop thinking that the poor guy is severely hurt and he was clearly pounding his way to oblivion. I like a man in all their macho glory, but at least let the poor guy rest a day first before showing off his sexual prowess.
There is another underlying plot behind the romance which is about their connected past. This plot actually left me with a lot more question than answer. Bottom line is Alexis' life is in danger because of who she really is and Viktor is trying to protect her, but at the same time I feel like they didn't think this through and totally ignore the biggest problem that I can spot from a mile away.
In regards of the climatic ending, it was so badass that I find it hard to believe. How did a whore turned into Lara Croft all of a sudden? I know this is fiction and I shouldn't overthink it, but I can't help myself. While I'm reading the action scene, my eyes just got bigger and bigger and threatening to pop out. For those who don't mind reading far-fetched plot, this book is actually quite engrossing and entertaining.

This one was classic vanilla dipped in gray sprinkles. A story for anyone that likes edge to their romance.

I love a new spin on an old tale. Clarissa Wild delivered with this one, a modern, slightly dark re-make of scars and redemption. I loved the updated resemblance, there was an ominous feeling in the beginning, I was hooked from the start. Although the story seemed to lag in the middle, I wholeheartedly enjoyed every bit. I found a few stray tears at the end, I have no idea where they came from. I'm guessing it was lint in my eyes. This one had all the "feels" they would say. The story pulled at my heart stings, made me laugh, with just enough suspense to keep me interested. I'm used to a bit more dark to my stories, so I had to put my preconceived notions aside and just enjoy. I knew going in that this one wasn't dark, dark. But I still craved more. Don't get me wrong, the story contains some tough subjects some may find offensive. <-- I loved those parts.
The characters were refreshing to say the least. Alexis had a take no shit demeanor. She was fiercely loyal to her sister. She was badass, made no excuses for who she was. I adored her. Viktor was alpha-broken, that's the only way I can explain him. Flawed, yet you wanted to wrap him in a blanket and hide him from the world. There's something about scarred heroes that pulls at my heart. I was in love at first throat hold. The banter, the push and pull between the main characters was a hoot, I laughed out loud with their antics. You essentially fall in love right with them. Hopelessly in love.
I crave more dark, however this story was beautiful and heartwarming just the way it was written. I'd recommend to dark or vanilla readers, it's a mixed bags of treats for all.

VIKTOR: Kicks us off by introducing us first to Alexis Kidd which has been established that she sells her body to make ends meet, to put food on the table, not a 8 to 5 conventional job but this is her reality, her life as a whore, it is what it is.
Her next job is to strip and dance, it comes with stipulations do NOT stop dancing until the client says she can, and FINALLY do NOT look BEHIND the curtain. Once he's done with you, you pack your belongings up and leave, no questions, you'll get paid as you leave.
She's bewildered that he doesn't want to f*ck her (said in her own words) but he pays well to watch her dance..

It really appears as though Viktor has no social skills at all, his gruff manner for one and the fact that he's always hidden behind a mask or hoody, the monster that hides in the darkest of shadows. Hidden away from society by his own choice. But you can't help but connect with the broken, scarred disfigured man.

Really enjoyed this Beauty and the Beast inspired story. It wasn’t as dark as I assumed it would be going in but that was ok because in the end I really liked it. There was some stuff that was a little hard to believe, especially at the end but I just went with it.

Reading the premise for Viktor, I was completely intrigued by the fresh take on Beauty and the Beast. Well, unfortunately, I didn't find a whole lot of beauty here. It started off... okay, but I can only suspend my belief so far on what reality can be in this world. Just circumstantial plot devices happening all over the place, and bizarre characterization overall. The dialogue also felt a little... gosh, I don't know. Stunted? Immature? I don't really know. Just off in some way. Okay, I'm better with lists. Clearly, I don't know how to express what I mean.
So, clearly, I'm not a fan. Don't take my word for it, though - it seems to be fairly liked by most others.

This book is a whole lot different to something I'd normally read but it's was fantastic all the same.
Two damaged people who come together creating magic in between all the chaos. The story drew me in for the start and as I went on and the plot unfolded I felt like I was getting drawn in the a black hole. I didn't even stop for a potty break. This story consumed me with its darkness but not all it what it seems.. the characters are complex not just black and white there's a whole lot of gray too. But the best thing about this book was that even though there is a lot of darkness there is also light,laughter and love.
This is not your typical romance, it's not hearts and flower nor is it pretty words and romantic gestures. What it is is raw and sinful, it pull you in sucks you dry and spits you out leaving you sat there flabbergasted and what the fuck just happened. No joke after finishing this I was like shit did that seriously just happen? And I liked it? Lol I fucking loved it.
I just loved it and Viktor & lexi, also loved the epilogue that melted my heart .. That little girl left me grinning crazy after reading how she though his scars where cool! Perfecting ending to a perfectly fucking crazy ass book.
P.s this book has a crazy amount of little hidden surprises along the way which is why I haven't gone in to detail about the plot or the characters because it would just ruin it even though a lot of them I guessed while reading, knowing them before you start kills the effect.
Also this is a first for me by this author but I'll definitely be having a browse at more of her work!

I can't explain the feeling.. when you find an amazing story one after the other.. Rare but so treasured.
This one? It captured my heart and soul in so many different ways I'm not even sure I'll be able to explain it in the review that's coming up.
Just. Just be prepared for a non bullshit review that matches a story that has a mind of it's own when it comes for throwing the readers tears, heartbreak, anger... out the window. It's breaks almost every boundary that so many other stories fail to realize NEED to be broken, sometimes.

This book is a more modern, dark and passionate take on the tale of Beauty and the Beast. But just because you've heard that fairy tale doesn't mean that you know what to expect with Viktor. This version is much more intense and violent but with just as happy an ending. I would highly recommend this book to those looking for a dark fairy tale.

Alexis is my type of heroine; a total badass. Some readers might be put off by the fact that she’s a prostitute, but I wasn't bothered by it.
While there are areas I dislike about the plot and characters, the writing itself was wonderful. There is also a perfect ratio between dialogue, setting description, and action.
Some of the plot made no sense. Tricks who pay by check? Lookouts who don't look out? Nothing about the bullet wounds, semi-surgery, aftercare, or acrobatic sex that followed is realistic.
Now for the thing that destroyed what could have otherwise been a 4 ½ star read for me. I LOVE scarred, tormented, reclusive, and celibate anti-heroes. Unfortunately, a million of my preferred characteristics couldn't make up for what I hate about Viktor.

I've been a fan of Clarrissa Wild for a while now. If she writes it, I'm reading it. She just has the perfect balance of dark and light that I can't get enough of. Viktor is absolutely no exception. I devoured this book.
Viktor is a modern, darker spin on Beauty and the Beast. The very first chapter gives us a spin that had me hooked. We meet Alexis Kidd first. She sells her body in order to make ends meet. She isn't ashamed by it. She just knows that she has to do whatever it takes to keep afloat. She is sent to a new client who happens to live in a mansion. She's there to strip only. She cannot see the man, only his silhouette. She has been given explicit instructions not to look at him. What happens during this scene is extremely HOT. You can actually read the excerpt posted by the author on Goodreads.
Circumstances forces Alexis to become a prisoner in Viktor's home. Little does she know that she's exactly where Viktor wants her. Even though he wants her there, he is still hiding a very big part of who he is. This makes him mysterious and intriguing. However, he's very much the "beast" that you would expect. He growls. He shouts. He stomps. He barrels his way through everything. What he didn't expect was for Alexis to treat him normally. Like a human being, which he hasn't gotten from anyone else in a very long time except for his one and only friend, Winston. She slowly creeps her way into his heart, allowing him to reveal more of himself and his vulnerability.
Alexis isn't scared of the monster that Viktor claims to be. She's such a head strong heroine. She's had a rough life, doing what ever she needs to do to survive for herself and her family. She stands up for herself and she doesn't take any crap. Especially anything from that beast of a man. Although, that beast turns out to be someone that she understands. Someone that she grows to like.
"I can't give you want you want, " I say. "It doesn't matter what I say or what I do, you'll still believe you're too ugly to be loved. And until you change that, I can never give you what you need and you can't either."
In true Clarrissa fashion, we get a twist of the dark side. The reason Viktor hide a part of him is because of his ugly past. Things that he did that he regrets. Knowing they were wrong but doing them anyway because it was all he knew and how he survived. I don't want to give anything away, but if you've read her work, you can expect nothing short of some messed up shit. I love her twists and the angst.
If you like fairytale spins that dabbles on the darker side, this book is for you. It is fast paced and gives you hope from some of the darker places. Pick this up now!

Viktor is Wild’s latest novel and dark modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I loved the previous novel I have read of Wild so I was excited to read a dark fairy telling of her’ as I was mood for something dark and different.
And this book didn’t’ disappoint. I devoured this book when I should have been doing anything but reading. As this isn’t a straightforward fairytale retelling, you need to have your full attention as Alexis and Viktor tell their story.
Alexis Kidds live in a harsh reality, she is a stripper, hooker, whore whatever you want to name it. She knows and it just a means to end. She sells her body to make ends meet. Working hard to make ends meet to provide shelter and food for her sister and her.
Until one day she gets an offer through her pimp that offers her the chance to get a little bit ahead. Just strip and dance until the client says stop. Don’t look behind the curtain and leave once you are done. Straight forward and seemingly easily, however the fact that he doesn’t want to user surprises considering what he was doing. And she can’t help herself look behind the curtain and see why a man would got to great lengths.
And open a can of worms
Setting of the monster, the beast who expects his rules to be followed with out questions and he wants the beautiful girl who broke his rules and got away. Until fate decides to play right in his hands when Alexia returns to his house and she is forced to stay with him, the mysterious man who holds her future in his hands.
Viktor which he isn’t going to give up easily as this man doesn’t play nice . Told in Dual POV’s the story follows Alexis and Viktor as deal with the can of worms that they open when they made their choices.
Viktor doesn’t know how deal with Alexia. He has hidden himself away not wanting to deal with society after they showed him that what was on the outside wasn’t worth knowing. A broken disfigured man who holding secrets that would make anyone run away especially Alexia.
She shouldn’t want to discover who Viktor is , let alone . It everything you expect from Wild when it comes to her dark romances. A non conventional romance that perfect when you crave something dark and this probably one my favourites to date. I love the idea and take she had on one of my favourite fairytales.

OMG!! I don’t know what to say regarding this book except this was sooooooooo good yet sooooo dark. Viktor Melikov is one of those characters that you do not want to root for but the author has written him in such a way that you are immediately drawn to him and do feel this pull. At first, for me, it was this oh –hell –no get away from me psycho ..hmm.. there is something here draw toward Viktor as I was able to learn his story…and his story is interwoven with the heroine, Alexis Kidd. Now she is not like the regular heroine that you would read about; she isn’t the cookie cutter heroine –she has some dark spots in her past –do know that only thing that keeps her going is her younger sister-that girl is her hopes and dreams so what she does to get by is to help her younger sister and that is how Alexis and Viktor cross paths and yet meet again. Viktor is a man who is determined to get what he needs out of Alexis and trust me when I say he is determined to make her pay the price and this is when he decides to keep her as his prisoner as a price her a sin someone else close to her committed…how far will he go to seek his price?

Also, there is a tie in from Viktor’s past that comes from Alexis that she is unware of. The sins of the past are now coming back to haunt Viktor and could surge up and hurt Alexis and her sister. I was on the edge of my seat, praying all worked out because really, this was a modern day Beauty and the Beast retelling but done in a modern Mob twist. I enjoyed it and would love to see Alexis’s sister get her own story. I cannot say enough good words about a book that took me out of my everyday world and into a world that took me into Viktor and Alexis modern twist on their love story and keep an eye out on who the bad guy is—trust me, I was shocked and I have to hand it to the author because I didn’t see the twist coming on the bad guy and the past being revisited .

This is the first book that I have ever read by Clarissa Wild. I had my eye on her books for quite some time and the blurb for this book captured my interest and made me squirm in anticipation. Now having read Viktor I can say that Clarissa brought the seedy underground crime world to life and dragged me into this dark fictional world along with Viktor and Alexis. Amidst the danger and secrets a sexual chemistry builds and explodes between the Hero and heroine.
Viktor Melikov has spent the last few years hiding behind a curtain and mask denying himself pleasure received from touching another human and being touched. Working for the devil incarnate and wearing the scars from the past, Viktor doesn't believe that he is worthy of someone touching his body or his heart. I found myself irresistibly drawn to and curious about Viktor with his hint of danger, his feelings of unworthiness because of his choices for survival, and his self imposed isolation. He is the kind of hero to make you quiver with desire while also to wrap him in your arms and nurture his poor tortured soul.
Alexis Kidd has been dealt a rotten hand in life that has her selling her body to support her and her sister. She may sell her body but her heart will never be in it. That is until she meets the man behind the curtain and learns more about her past and how it is intertwined with his. What happens when you give the man that everyone believes is a monster your heart? I couldn't help but feel empathy towards Alexis along with a mixture of sadness and admiration. She is a survivor and fighter and is willing to make any sacrifice for her sister no matter the cost to herself. She has a sassiness that has helped her prevail through the hardship of her life and has landed her in the hands of the sexy and mysterious Viktor where she flourishes and learns the meaning of love.
Clarissa delivers a love story of two broken individuals that come together and bring light into a world filled with darkness and despair. I highly recommend for a romance with a hero and heroine who come from a tainted life and find love when they least expect it. I look forward to reading more of Clarissa's dark tales and meeting more of her riveting characters.

Mysteriously sexy!!
Viktor is truly damaged but I love him. He makes so many mistakes and believe he has no self-worth. His anger is ever-present but light breaks through and you see glimpses of smiles, laughter, and hope.
This is a story of beauty and the beast with a much darker twist. Beauty sees no scars, only sees the man within. I found myself cheering for him, wanting him to see himself as someone other than a monster, someone worthy of beauty, and to keep fighting the darkness.
Lexi is a bit unexpected with her sass and don't mess with me attitude. She's the calm to his storm. And she's the confidence to his insecurity.
Viktor is mysteriously sexy, fire raging within and Lexi is his match, setting off sparks and turning up the heat. A "Melikov cocktail"!!

Wow some steamy, melt panting scenes in there.
And Viktor is so so HOT and Lexie so feisty who doesn't love that!

Ok so I saw that this book had 2xx reviews on Amazon with an average rating of 4 stars. I thought : "this book might be ok".
Unfortunately you really CANNOT trust amazon Stars. It does not reflect the book quality at all.
Dark, dirty, self hate, LUST, imminent danger (which from page 1- middle, there was ZERO of it)
Anyway, I only reached 50% of the book & gave up.
So... that pretty much sums up this book.

This book sounds like a fairytale only for some it could be your worst nightmare.
I absolutely adored Viktor yeah he is rough, dark, maybe even demented but when he set his sights on Alexis aka his Lexi most of that roughness was broken. She brings out the best and worst.
Alexis is in for more than she bargained for after one dance brings her face to face with the man behind the mask. Her only thoughts are however saving her sister. But then her entire world starts to crumble and who is there beside her?
Well you listen and find out.
The narrator did a fantastic job of handling all the male characters and not to bad on the female ones.
He made this seem like it was happening right now which is awesome. Again I throughly enjoyed this audible.
