It is difficult to just read through this book. It is easy to lose site of the point of the paragraph while sifting through the mid-sentence citations. Frustrating. I can see that it is a good reference if one is working through a project and referring to sections as required. There are some good exercises at the ends of chapters as well.

More of a reference than a read through, Caffarella supports a multi-layered, non-linear yet comprehensive approach to program planning. Also has a number of important worksheets/training sheets to use. Best to skim through when actually planning an event.

This top notch guide developed by Rosemary Caffarella is an essential tool for those evolving in the befuddling world of adult education. I would rather say that Caffarella's book is the Bible for every program planner for adult learners.

Good to read for understanding the concepts and background behind program planning. Not a very good guide for actual program planning. Examples provided in here are very interesting to read and help expand your knowledge and understanding.

This is a great resource for program planning. I found it practical and easy to read and will add it to my resource shelf.

I have the fortunate opportunity to once again teach a program planning and evaluation class for the University of Wyoming. I have already taught this course a few times and thought it was time to change out one of the books. There was nothing wrong with the books I was using but I wanted to find a book that provided more tools for the learners. I am glad I did. For this term, I selected Planning Programs for Adult Learners: A Practical Guide by Rosemary Caffarella and Sandra Ratcliff Daffron. I am quite happy with the book. Read more
