Very good!

Excellent advice for a novice and sound suggestions for development toward becoming a competitive player. Also, a good review for those who haven't played for a while.

Quite basic, truly for beginners – “become a chess master” is quite the stretch here.

This book is aimed at beginners and will not lift anyone above that level. Moreover, it fills its readers with mistaken ideas that must be unlearned in order to improve. Mistakes include rules and strategy. the author does not seem capable of explaining clearly the difference between strategy and tactics. He offers descriptions of a few simple tactics, but offers nothing concerning strategy.
