Once upon a time, I was a big fan of bubbles and Klutz books. This was the perfect marriage. The book came complete with the large bubble maker (The Bubble Thing). I wasn't good at making it work, but my students used it well. I used to spend a lot of time outside blowing bubbles with my charges.

I keep this book in my files even as our bubble blowing has waned over the years.

The above isn't exactly accurate. Bubbles have persisted, it's just that it has been different in recent years.

But I re-read this for my COVID-19 class. Since we won't be able to blow bubbles indoors this year on our desks in groups, I am re-familiarizing myself with what I used to do.

Having a piece of PVC leftover from another project, I have built my own Bubble Thing since the one that came in the book is long gone. Am looking forward to some bubble fun this week.
