I like reading children's literature once in a while. These books are always sweet and heartwarming. They remind me of my childhood in a way. This book is no different.

A Chocolate In My Pocket is a nice little picture book. It is about the love and relationship between a father and her daughter. It also hints a little bit at the idea that parents can be too busy sometimes and they might miss some sweet moments with their children.

The pictures are really cute and nicely done. The little story is cute and lovely. It would be a great read for children who just started learning how to read.

A young child shows her love for her father, who is too busy to notice her gestures. A sweet rhyming tale to remind us to take time for what's really important. I like the illustrations because they remind me of the old Roald Dahl books.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated in any other fashion for the review and the opinions reflected below are entirely my own. Special thanks to the publisher and author for providing the copy.

A Chocolate In My Pocket is a wonderful children's book. It perfectly reminds us, as often busy parents, that we need to slow down and appreciate the moments we have with our children. This story particularly focuses on a daughter/father bond, but it could easily be replaced with any other family member honestly.

In this story, the daughter leaves a piece of chocolate in her father’s pocket as a sign of love and affection. She is super excited to see when he notices it during his day. Her father never does, because he was too busy with his daily activities...getting ready for work, showering, and running out the door. At work he has a particularly hectic day, the chocolate in his pocket might have just made the day better, but he never finds it until it's a melted mess. I particularly loved the daughter’s response to the melted chocolate, tomorrow I'll leave you two! In the true spirit of a child, no fault, no blame, just pure love and acceptance. We all could use a little Chocolate in our Pocket surprise every now and then!

This book is eloquently written in rhyme, and illustrated simply but beautifully. I would recommend this book to any family, and we have already purchased it as book for our family to read again and again!

Thank you to NetGalley, Eric LaBranche, and Clavis Books for allowing me to review this book in exchange for an honest review. We loved it! (5 stars!)

Sweet rhyming story of a girl trying to surprise her father with a piece of chocolate and the dad being to busy to find what and where she had hidden it.

This is so common, so much a slice of life, and it is so sweet. How many times have kids tried to surprise their parents and have the parents been to busy to even notice what they have done. I'm sure it has happened more times than we can imagine. I like how the daughter kept hoping, and the father kept missing it.

But, in the end, when it is a melted sticky mess, the daughter, more determined then ever, says she will give her dad two tomorrow.

Great book for kids. Great book for adults to remind them to slow down once in a while.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

Read for my son tonight. This book rhymes a lot which he likes because he started learning words that rhymes in school. There weren't a lot going on. The dad goes to work and do his things while the daughter stays at home and waiting to hear if he has discovered a surprise she has placed in his pocket yet. When he comes home he finds that the surprise has melted. There were no father/daughter activities.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

xoxo,
Jasmine

This was cute. A girl gives her dad a chocolate in his pocket when he wakes up. He is supposed to eat it with his tea. But alas, his chocolate melts in his pocket. This book does rhyme, but it is not a standard rhyming structure, but once the cadence was down, it was fun and a different lilt that I really enjoyed.

A cute loving story about a father and daughter brought closer together by chocolate. Also a lesson to parents to not take their kids for granted, certainly don’t put work above them.
I’m a fan of rhymes, and these are intriguing, especially the pattern.
This sweet girl is far too good to be believed. . .

This is a sweet story about a young girl trying to surprise her father with a piece of chocolate in his pocket. The story is told in rhyme and the illustrations are delightful. As is common, dad is too busy to listen to his daughter in the morning, so does not know the chocolate is there. As the day goes on, he never finds the chocolate and when he arrives home, the chocolate is just a melted mess. This does not discourage his daughter, she tells him that she will give him two chocolates tomorrow. The message for parents is that you need to slow down and pay attention to your children. The daughter never gives up on her father but continues to show him how much she loves him by giving him chocolate for a sweet surprise.

This is a great book for kids and parents to read aloud and share a message from the story. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

I received this children's book for an honest review, thank you!

I love the cover with original painting and its style throughout the book, its a lovely short story about a little girl and her father. The story is heart warming and I love to read children books that has original paintings. The story tells about a daughter who placed a chocolate in her dad's pocket on the morning and how it melted in his pocket while being a busy postman. I see this book good for reading to young and talk throughout about what could be find in the pictures.

A sweet story about the relationship between a father and daughter. The father is so busy rushing around to attend to adult responsibilities that he doesn't have time to appreciate his daughter's sweet gestures. It's very heartwarming when he does get a chance to stop and notice! In the end, this story is about slowing down to appreciate your family and unconditional love.
