In this final book in 'The Encounter Trilogy', Isobel and Hugo find themselves being torn apart again. It seems that just when these two start to figure things out, something gets in the way of their HEA. Buckle up, because this one is another emotional roller coaster.

Although they keep repeating the same destructive behaviors over and over like a broken record, I cannot turn away. I know what is bound to happen and the devastation that will follow, but I'm glued to my spot, powerless to look away. I am hooked on these two and their dysfunctional relationship!

Several big developments occur in this book, which shed a new light on some of Hugo's hot and cold behavior. As Isobel is left to deal with unexpected consequences on her own, she turns to Hugo's best friend for support. This ends up taking the story in a rather surprising direction.

Like the second book, this one had me fighting back tears on more than one occasion. While I understood why certain things had to happen the way they did, the characters' pain was palpable. There is just so much heartache and hurt with these two.

In the end everything ends up working out nicely, which was long overdue. I had a few remaining questions, like what was the story of their initial meeting in London that had been alluded to in the first book. I kept waiting for the author to have some big reveal, but it never came. Maybe we'll get a novella with that story???

Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I love books that break my heart and then piece it back together again. That is exactly what this series will do to you, over and over again. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what Isobel and Hugo would do next. I devoured this series!

In my opinion, the las book of the series is an okay book. When i first started reading the series, I wasn't too attached to the book. I was and am not obsessed with it like I was with Ann's Chasing series. Ann's Chasing series is one of my favorite books, but The Encounter didn't match up to it.

Vanquished continues the story on Isobel and Hugo. Hugo is determined to stay away from Isobel, yet Isobel is determined to fight for Hugo. The overall storyline of The Encounter is okay as the couple both has their ups and downs along with emotional outbursts. Hugo has a problem with anyone loving him and Isobel is determined to do whatever in her power to be with Hugo. I was interested in it, but Ann left too many questions unanswered. . If you are one of those people that wants to know what happens to every single character mentioned, you will have trouble with this book since I have a lot of questions left to be answered. Overall it was an okay book, and I'll still read Pamela Ann's work. I'm looking forward to seeing how her other books turn out. :)

I know this might straight up be random, but throughout the whole series the characters travel from Monaco to London or Greece, any of these places by plane. The author writes as if does not take hours to fly by plane, like if a plane ride is a car ride.

When too people have hot "to die for" chemistry, and they can't live without each other, but they don't give their love a chance, you just get a little frustrate and just wanna shake them, so they realized what they have is unique.

I finished reading Vanquished last night, and I am really pleased about the story and ending. I'm also a bit sad that Isobel and Hugo story is finished. What happens next in their lives, I have so may question, maybe a epilogue would have been nice.

I like that this series has a little tension and excitement, and that you can't figure out what happens next.

What happened with Isobel dad I hadn't seen coming. I think it was a good unexpected change, and If that had not happened and Isobel had ended up marrying Julien I would have been really unhappy. I love Julien, it's not that, he is a good friend to Isobel, but he is not the love of Isobels life, Hugo is.

I hope Isobel and Hugo live happily ever after. And that Julien finds his unexpected love of his life. And maybe Isobels mom find love again with Isobels father.

I love all Pamela Ann's series and this one in particular was worth waiting for.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've given Pamela Ann a huge chance, and now I'm done.
I'm sick of the ETA of the books being months and months later than they are advertised and really I was thoroughly disappointed with this book. It felt rushed and wasn't all that interesting, also the price, which I paid for TWICE, as she published the "finished" one page book then re-released the book again months later, was extreme. Not happy. Not going back ever again.

This is the culminating love story of Isobel and Hugo and the story of true friendship where they will do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe. I thought it was a good story but the ending needed more details, more meat. There was so much build up that the end felt a little flat. All in all, still worth the read.

VANQUISHED was the final book in the Encounter Trilogy and it was a marvelous culmination of the tragic yet beautiful love story of Hugo and Isobel. It seemed as though they could not be together and my heart broke for them and the idea of their happy family dream crashing into smitherings. I wanted to somehow fix things for them myself. But I didn't know how. Misunderstandings and jealousy abounding made me upset at everyone and thinking about these people even after my kindle was closed and on the shelf. (Which wasn't for too long!). But the ending was superb!!! I am going to start on another one of her series --I love when I find an author that can write characters that consume my thoughts long after the book is closed. And Pamela Ann is that kind of writer.

SHE IS AMAZING!

Well again she has done it! This series was simply amazing! I routed for Isobel and Hugo from the beginning. The angst Pamela Ann can create with only words, wanting to read the next word but also being afraid to. How she brings out the passion in these characters. I loved how she made Isobel kind of inacent but made her not afraid to stand up for herself. Thank you Pamela Ann for knowing how to make me feel.

It seemed the pain between Hugo and Isobel was tough to read through. I hated how she had to settle with one person and not the one she truly wanted, or needed. I’m glad things worked out according to how it should’ve otherwise I don’t think I’d have liked the ending. And still, the chemistry between the two main characters continued to be off the charts. I really enjoyed the way this author writes.

Still very good

I have very much enjoyed this series. Still more twists and turns and I began to wonder if anyone would start to tell the truth. Can't say much more without giving spoilers. Worth reading.

Keep your friends close...Julien is without a doubt a good friend to Hugo and one can only wonder why as he goes so far beyond the realm of friendship, making me wonder if Hugo is not indeed his "frenemy". If ever there is a riff between men, it tends to be a woman. While I can somewhat feel Isobel's pain, I have no love for her because she created this mess! Isn't it part of the "sister-code" that one not date an ex's best friend?!! How in the world can all this upheaval lead to a happy ever after without someone being thrown under the bus? Can't imagine it will be possible. However this trilogy has been quite unbelievable from the start. An abrupt ending to a complicate, convoluted triangle. A guilty pleasure read I must admit. The lavish richness, exotic locations and decadent lifestyle is pure escapism from my day-to-day 9-5.

The twist was wrapped up so neatly and quickly it was kind of a reach but it ended really well, no side women which was awesome. I would love to read about Julian next. Such a great guy. No sex scenes with OW in this book which I appreciated. You definitely have thread the conclusion if you read the others. It's better than the two before because he was only with her after the night in the penthouse when she came to him at the beginning.

Talk about a book hangover!

By far one of the best series I have read in a very long time! Wow! My emotions are all over the place. It was the Perfect storm. I laughed, cried, felt anger, but the amount of love conveyed in this story was all consuming. Bravo! I am a fan for life!! Thank you Pamela Ann for bringing Isobel and Hugo into my life. I am forever grateful

Was not really thrilled with the book. Started off great but towards the middle it started getting to where chunks of the story line were missing. Felt like so much was left out just to finish and not have it go into another book or like Pamela Ann forgot which way the story was suppose to go. Very dissappointed but gave 3 stars only cause it was good in the beginning.

A thrilling end to a heart stopping love story. Hugo fights his feelings but can't give up the love of his life but with a twist of fate all he ever wanted is finally his.
