A sweet take on the Tub people's run in woth the big elf himself. Classic tub people mischief. Oh what fun, indeed!

This is another children's book recommended to me by my mother. Usually she does a good job in picking out books, and I think she liked this one because the Tub People reminded her of the Peeps that my sister and I used to play with when we were little.

I also thought I've read other works by Pam Conrad, but when I searched her, nothing rang a bell.

I read this book to Captain America, and we got about 8 pages into it and we both agreed it was just about the stupidest children's book we've ever read. We finished it (I mean, really, it's all of about 30 pages, including illustrations), but it was just terrible. And the first and last page had a random picutre of an angle, that had nothing to do with the story.

If you're looking for a Christmas children's book to read your kids/nieces/nephews, this isn't it.

My reaction may have been different if I'd read the 1st or 2nd book in the series, but I didn't realize until just now that it was part of a series.

I read this with a 4 year old and I'm not sure which of us had more questions. Often in picture books the images fill in any gaps in the plot or explanation. Not in this case. These illustrations resulted in more questions - why do they all suddenly have hooks? Why does an angel keep appearing? etc.

This book was kind of a disappointment compared to the first one, but it still had that touch of warmness it brought me when I first read The Tub People.

I found this one kind of silly and lacking. However, it could be because I read it after Christmas. Dunno.
