I would love to know what a kid thought of this one. For me it got a bit too ridiculous. Too much magic and adults believing it. Also clearly more time passed than the children realized but no one expresses surprise or joy at his return. And he makes a big deal out of no food in the house then has plenty of fresh food. Even if he had supplies left in the tree house, they'd have gone bad. I don't know that even children would miss all these contradictions.
This series is Great! All children who can read will love it. And so will many adults. If your children are to young to read, this series is a great way to introduce them to the wonderful world of books. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Series!
We see eels and turtles and even talking porpoises and whales. Still, she somehow creates them as real, breathing animals; they maintain the personalities we as humans sense they have and though the colors and shapes of the fish swimming by seeming dreamlike, anyone who has snorkeled will know them intimately.
