This is book 2 in the Men of Whiskey Row Series and a novella. It is important to read book 1 before reading this book. Must be 18+ to read.

WARNINGS: First - This book contains steamy love scenes and is not recommended for those easily offended by them. Second - It is a CLIFFHANGER!
D. A. Young is a best-selling author and lover of multilayered adventures. Food, traveling, and music are her passions. You can often find all three in the contemporary escapades she creates.
Lord I am so in love with this series its not true. All the couples are finally getting it together. I am sure they are all going to face their hurdles in staying together. Darcy and Avery have a huge challenge to face. I am looking forward to the next books coming out this year. I love, love Whiskey Row!
If you have not read this series then you do not know what you are missing. Get it.
I love this story about the three girlfriends who have mesmerized three hunky brothers. I want to see Vivienne and Alexei heal their rift. I can see something brewing between Kat and Holt. The next books will be interesting. I love how all of these couples snift around each other to feel each other out. Whiskey Row appears to be a place I would love to live in.
NOTE: This ebook was re-read in conjunction with Audible.com. The narrators Morae Brehon, and Sean Crisden really made the story come to life, especially Sean. I just love his sexy voice.
I enjoyed this book but it was more of an all around check in because it wasn’t about one specific person. I enjoyed hearing about everybody but I can appreciate the ones that are about one particular person and how their lives started and evolved.
This was the BOMB!!!! Brilliantly written novella...
I loved every bit of the story from start to finish, and I'm going to read it again so that i can soak up all the characters. I loved Casey and Sidra, getting it together at last, their relationship is so HAWT! I can't even begin to talk about all the other relationships starting to develop in this short story....*sigh* I literally cannot wait for the next book, D.A.Young has become one of my favourite authors! I highly recommend Sweet Obsession & New Beginnings, catch up quick their brilliant stories and there's more to come!
Ughhhhh another BWWM with black women (30+) acting 21.... It's insulting... Get therapy especially if your in your 50s and acting like Viv yuck. It just underlined my respect and belief in her character....I just don't believe in her strength that would literally leave her family her daughter over that ....I'm so made I paid for this none sense.
The first book was so amazing... But it's like the male characters have to do all the work nd the women are sitting there for the other person to work in a RELATIONSHIP.. please don't believe in this toxic type of relationships... If a man does the work the other person should at least do the bare minimum......
Great continuation of Sweet Obsession! Just too short! Loved the chemistry between Sidra and Casey. And I was glad that Darby and Avery finally get to do a little more than talk. Can't wait till both of the new books come out. This was just a tease!! I need more of the men of Whiskey Row, LOL
I've cried laughed, this is one of my all time favorites. Sounds they have a Irish heritage, now I realize mine Irish heritage is not so far fetched. It shocked me when it was revealed. Lol lollipops .
I don’t really like Sidra’s character. At all. So I deducted a star for her alone. Maybe I’ll feel different after I read her story, but at this moment I don’t like her. And Casey came off as desperate. Darby and Avery, I like though. And as always, I enjoyed Jack & Noelle.
In Darby's words. "Holy F***ing S**t". What an ending. That ending alone is enough for you to look forward to the next book in this series. This story focused on all of the couples. Great read.
DA Young does a great job of making a true series, showing characters relationships and connections. Many authors say they have a series but fail to do this. Loved the scene at the dinner table!
Let us Begin ✏️ Overall Plot Rating: 4/5 ⭐ Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ / Execution of Spice: 4/5⭐
Tropes/Triggers: Alcohol, Alpha male syndrome, bi-racial couple, Ends on a cliffhanger, Murder(past event)(talked about/not on page), pregnancy, Sexual content(explicit)
Format I read: Audiobook 🎧 Audio version: Dual Narration Narrators and performance: Morae Brehon: 1/5 ⭐ Sean Crisden: 4.5/5 ⭐ I found Morae's voice whiny and her inability to do accents literally made me cringe. I hated the chapters that she narrated. Sean does great accents and his tone has more inflection, bringing the characters a sense of personality.
The Author wrote this book in a 3rd person, multiple POV, sometimes referred to as Omniscient POV. -Now, I actually enjoy switching POV between chapters, like many romance books do, but this story switches constantly even during conversations mid-chapter. Normally I hate Omniscient POV because the constant switching of POV takes me out of the story. This book was no different. And the fact that the POV changed multiple times PER chapter made the Dual Narration type for this book redundant. Would have been better off just having Sean Crisden do the whole thing in that case. It would have felt a little more manageable if the author hadn't extended to pretty much every character.
Pros of the Story 👍 -This was a cute little short compilation of our characters all getting together for a holiday. -It was light and made for a nice little steamy read.
Cons of the Story 👎 -I liked this short little installation more than the first book, probably because there was less focus on Noelle, for some reason, I really don't like her character? I liked where the author was going with Avery's character and there was SO MUCH potential for character development with her in learning to live herself and to be a badass, but I feel like the author totally skimmed over that in this book. Like, one steamy session with a cute country boy was all she needed to make her act confident despite having being put down for so long before. I don't know, just seemed like a missed opportunity to really make her character relatable to so many girls/women out there who struggle with their own thoughts of their bodies.
In summary 📝 7.5/10 would recommend Doubtful I will read again.

So this Novella comes after the first novel. I really enjoyed the first novel, but this Novella pointed out and exacerbated a problem that began in the first novel. That issue is the fact that this author has the tendency to swap the point of view, or the narrator without clearly indicating the swap. It wasn’t as noticeable in the first book, because for the most part there were just two point of views (with just a few exceptions) However in this book the author switched to at least 10 different narrators. She also swapped narrators multiple times within each chapter. This caused a lot of issues for me. I am reading along to whispersync audio book and boy I had to back track and reread multiple times trying to tell when the POV swapped and who was now narrating. This author could use the tricks that other writers use like typing the narrators name as a heading prior to starting the new section. Or ensuring that each new section begins with a sentence clearly illustrating who’s head and eyes We are now seeing things from.
Beyond that, it was a good story. A lot was happening, but I look forward to seeing how it all turns out in future books.
If you haven’t already read the 1st book to this series. DO NOT READ THIS ONE JUST YET.
I mean it don’t read this one or you’re going to miss the tension and the drama leading up to this book. READ THE BOOKS IN ORDER.
I love this book, it’s a little taste in what to come, and wow what a taste you receive. Between the unsure Avery and the 2nd old Sullivan brother Darby. And the question of if they will have their little romance. Too Casey and Sidra, hot and spicy, romance that makes you laugh and shout with glee.
And if you were like me and was curious what is going on between Vivienne and Alexei and what’s going on between them. Then this is a book that you been waiting for. Now this is just some more juicy scene to entrance you taste buds.
One book that I couldn’t put down, and was more than happy to read.
Casey & Sidra: so this book follows mostly Casey and Sidra, however, like the previous book there are several POV's where the author just ventures off to discuss another couple. Yes, still annoying but we get to see more of how Jack and Noelle are doing and learn more about her friends. So finally, Casey is tired of the games with Sidra and decides to make his stand while everyone is in whiskey row for Christmas. These two characters are just as combustive as Jack and Noelle but they also have a love hate relationship. The author doesn't go to much in depth on Sidra's backstory but we do get to see a little if why she is so standoffish with Casey. There really wasn't must to the story as it was really short but the author took this time to throw plot twist after plot twist so it was a good jaw doing time.
This was a novella that served as both a sequel and a prequel to this wonderful series. We get to catch up with Noelle and Jackson, but more importantly, the author sets the stage for future books with the other characters. This is something I really like about the book but also makes it challenging to read because there are a lot of characters to keep track of so sometimes I found myself getting confused or getting people mixed up, particularly Guy and Holt.
Having said that, I am really looking forward to reading Darby and Avery's story, especially after the bomb that is dropped at the end of this book. I also look forward to reading more about the tumultuous relationship between Casey and Sidra and between Vivienne and Alexei.
Yup, count me in as the many who are absolutely in love with this series. The men of Whiskey Row are just incredible. That's all I gotta say. I mean, these love stories are wonderful. I am entranced by every detail, especially the love scenes between Casey and Sidra. Jesus! We get to see how Noelle and Jack are doing with their family as everyone gathers for the Christmas holiday in "The Row." We also get a nice little cliffhanger dealing with the budding romance of Avery and Jack's middle brother, Darby. I can't wait to dig into that one in Book #3. I'm totally addicted to this series!
D.A.. What can I say i enjoy this also the holiday and book up partners Vivian and Alexia ,Holt and Kendra Casey and Sidrid ,Avery and Darby. Please forgive me if I misspellings name spelling a little unusual. What a beautiful storytelling of how family holiday can be awesome with everyone getting along. Ok D.A you got me l was not expecting that ending. Good old country fun reminding me of my childhood in North Carolina. The sex and passion is great also. Download and enjoy the family love of the 3 boys who loss there mom through domestic violence. Fantastic a little mystery. Couldn't put it down
Kinda 3 and a half stars for me because it was so short and I get like the story was eeeh and rushed lol but I don’t normally read novellas. And while I liked seeing where everyone was with their respected others, I found some parts just a little dull. I was hooked with book one with all these characters and I wanted to see where they ended up, so I’ve committed to going through each book. To be honest, the back story I am most eager to get to is Sidra’s which I believe is in book 3–so we’ll see what happens next ^_^.
Still a series I would recommend to other avid readers who like multilayer stories and characters.
Narrator score🎧 ; both narrators are amazing I love them both so much they did great especially Sean with his accent 😍😍😍
Level of steam🔥: all the books are very hot. This whole series is extremely hot.
Level of anxiety and sadness 😱😢: you have some drama in each book but I don't think it is too much... it is good though so I enjoyed it.
The book itself📖: this series is great. I love it . Each character was different and sweet in its own way. The stories where good and interesting which I loved.
The good thing about not finding this amazing author sooner, is that I get to read these books back to back.
I don't know how she does it but every character in this book is so loveable. The Sullivans, Guy, Holt, and Alexei have me fanning myself. Lawd if such a place exist. I need to visit before I leave this world. Each story is so beautifully unfolding and woven together in a tapestry of friendship, love, loyalty and smouldering sexiness.
I Ooooed & Ahhhhed and laughed out loud from start to finish. 😄😂😆 The whole cast of Whiskey Row will become your guilty voyeuristic pleasure. These characters are so vibrant and relatable. I am loving every bit of this winding convoluted tale of people navigating through the maelstrom of life. And that cliff-hanger!!! Jeeez, just when you think it's calming down...boom! Wow...I'm sweating for Darby + Avery. 😱 Now I should put this e-reader down & give my eyes a break but that's not going to happen. Onto " In Pursuit.... " 😉
2.25 Stars. (BW/WM). Audiobook with narration by Morae Brehon and Sean Crisden. Sidra Barton and Casey Sullivan, the protagonists, have been hooking up for years starting when they met at Noelle’s and Jack’s wedding. Aside from the countless cameos from other characters, the storyline is swatted back and forth from the couple’s sexual escapades to each one’s quandary about the uncertainty of the other feelings and intentions. There is plenty of verbal gymnastics, a ton of sex resulting in a couple of characters who had no romantic chemistry.
LOVED every bit of the storyline. From the start when Noelle picked Sidra up from the airport to the end when Darby and Avery brought in the new year with a little kink. Once again loved how DA Young mixed in all the main characters, loved when authoress's do that hahaha. My all time favorite scene was when the entire group was getting ready to break bread and how the intrested men referred to all the women to delicious chocolates, I literally swooned at this scene. This novel was well written and loved all the whiskey men. Looking for my future whiskey row man lol
