This very scary, very silly book will have young children roaring with laughter as they dare each other to touch the hair of a spider, the belly of a monster, the sticky tongue of a snake, and many more icky parts of creepy creatures! But who will be brave enough to turn to the last page to see the spookiest monster of all? The truly courageous will be rewarded with a shockingly hilarious—yet eerily familiar—surprise!
What a cute halloween read for the toddler/preschool age! Each picture has a different gross or scary touch element (squishy warts, sticky tongue, pop up wolf mouth). The kids really loved sticking their hand in the wolf mouth and touching the snake tongue the best.
This board book won't stay on the classroom library shelf for very long. Youngsters will dare each other to open its pages to see the monsters and other scary things inside as well as even, maybe, touching various parts of the page. I liked how the author directly addressed readers, cleverly enticing them to read on as they encounter--if they are brave enough--eight reasons to be afraid. The last page contains a surprise, but it's a very good surprise. Even though the book was originally published in France, it has universal appeal.
A touch and feel book. Some of the textures were really fun - the sticky page was a good one! Fun book for younger readers, they'll enjoy the sensory pages.
A pop up, touch and feel and interactive book for Halloween about the holidays classic monsters. The scariest monster lies at the end of the book! Another great library find!
