It's a pity that Brilliant has gotten so caught up in this 'intellectual property' nonsense that one can't even quote his work without looking over one's shoulder in fear of lawyers.

What say we come up with some better compromise, that permits use without forcing anybody to pay every time? One suggestion: establish a sort of 'reader's choice' scholarship/fellowship/pension, so that artists can afford to create without having recourse to lawsuits.

The series continues with the third volume of Ashleigh Brilliant's PotShots. Like the first two, this collection of aphorisms is funny, thought-provoking, poignant, and inspirational in various places.
