This book presented recycling information in a fun way but the combination of prose with dialogues and then cartoon style bubbles was not done well. Also the concept of magical realism on the bus shrinking in a book with a real topic of recycling made no sense.

The Magic School Bus Gets Recycled, is full of information about how to reuse waste. The school has been collecting paper, tin, bottles, and rubbish to be recycled. The truck comes to take it away and when Phoebe loses the necklace her grandmother gave her, the teacher Ms. Frizzle takes them on a magic ride on a sheet of paper to recover the necklace.

Education through storytelling is a great way to share knowledge in an entertaining way. Who wouldn't want to be on a school bus that can fly, or shrink down into a water tank to go through a filter?

I've not seen this series, although, a friend of mine tells me 'The Magic Bus' has been around for years.

This was a prize in a Burger King kid's meal. Kudos to Burger King for giving away books! Interesting details on how things get recycled.

The Magic School Bus Gets Recycled is a Level 2 Scholastic Reader, featuring "vocabulary and sentence length for beginning readers". It features the characters from the award-winning 90's television program The Magic School Bus and endeavors to teach children about recycling. It particularly focuses on the sorting of materials at recycling plants and the process through which paper is recycled.

In The Magic School Bus Gets Recycled, Ms. Frizzle's class is recycling their school's used bottles, paper, and other recyclable refuse when Phoebe realizes that she's lost the necklace her grandmother gave her. So the class heads off to the recycling to search for it; as they do so, Anne Capeci presents illustrations and factoids that teach the concept of recycling, the various processes that plants use to sort recyclable materials, and the process that recycled paper must go through in order to be used again.

The Magic School Bus Gets Recycled is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the idea of recycling and might even be enlightening to those parents who don't know much about the subject themselves. As such, I highly recommend it to parents reading to their toddlers or children in the early stages of learning to read; it should be particularly entertaining to fans of the Magic School Bus franchise and particularly useful to those interested in learning or teaching their children about recycles processes. It would also serve as a great companion to The Magic School Bus Holiday Special*, an episode of the television show that explores the importance of recycling and guest stars Dolly Parton as "Murph", a recycling center employee.

*And it is genuinely a holiday special, not just a Christmas special by another name; Christmas plays a minor role in Wanda's plotline, and Arnold's subplot revolves around Hanukkah. At the very end, the cast wishes the viewers a merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and happy Kwanzaa.

I love the Magic School Bus books. Legomeister loved these for years, and now Little Miss is starting to request them.

The Scholastic Readers are nice for bedtime stories because they're shorter, and of course, they're great for early readers. They're more difficult than some easy readers, a little longer with more challenging words. The writing feels choppy; that's a side effect of simplifying it. But I think they do a good job of keeping the story fun and informative. They definitely hold the interest of my Magic School Bus Fans.

This book is a great way to learn about recycling. With the illustrations and text students are really transported to a recycling center and they can learn about the process there. They also continue on the journey to a special plant that works with old paper that has been recycled and making it into new things. Once again through the illustrations and text children can discover the process. This book is a great way to take field-trip without really going on a field trip to the local recycling center (if there even is one!)

I don't think there's a better way to introduce recycling than through Ms. Frizzles Magic School Bus adventure. One again the fun and very daring teacher takes her class on a journey to learn about Recycling. The class is in search of a misplaced necklace when they find themselves in an educational trip learning about recycling. I've always been a huge fan of The Magic School Bus books. They're able to capture children's attention and truly help them learn about different things.

I thought this book was very educational and even I learned a few things about recycling as I read it. It's a cute so children can get into it, all while they learn something that they need to know. Recycling is an important part of keeping the planet clean and this book teaches children what they can do to help.
