Lost Wolves #5
Omega Untamed
Abel Mircea, an alpha wolf, was banished from his kingdom at 16, but now the king who banished him needs Abel's help to save it. As one of the most fearsome assassins in the world, Abel knows he can do it, but he needs something beyond money or power to make it worth his while. Enter Dagz Thorn-- an omega slave who looks like anything but. He's the only survivor of a vicious attack by hunters working for the warlord Arno, and when Abel saves Dagz, the alpha gets more than he bargained for. Not only does Dagz pledge his life to Abel, he also swears they are mates, bound together by a bond deeper than blood. However, Dagz is not an ordinary omega-- he's a berserker who can't control his outbursts of violence. And now he's Abel's problem. Good thing they have a shit ton of hunters asking for an ass kicking. While lust flares between the alpha and omega, can love bloom in the darkest parts of their hearts? Contains graphic gay sex and violence.

Poor Dragz! He had such an awful life. Though none of the shifters in this series had easy lives. I really liked this pairing. There’s lots of danger and action. They had to trust and support each other and the both grew because of it. I am looking forward to the next book!!

Absolutely loved this! I'm starting the series at book 5 but I'll seriously have to go back and see what I missed. An alpha/omega story to be proud of. I'm usually not a fan of physically small alphas (and much larger omegas), but Abel was an assassin so that gives him a pass. :-) No insta-love here. Abel and Dagz explore their connection slowly and it is beautiful. Loved the hurt/comfort angle of Dagz having the curse (beast) that only Abel could control, at times just barely. Great world building and pacing, though things like 'charging cell phones' and words like 'gay' took me out the story. They just felt completely out of place in this world. Towards the end, I felt things went on a bit and I found my mind wandering, but I loved that my wolves got their happy ending.

I hope this isn't the end of this series, but if it is it concludes one of the most memorable ones I've read. The world buidling has been absolutely stunning and it is such a sad, depressing world for omegas. In the first book, I thought we were heading toward a series where there would be some political or other type of revolution and all would eventually be well for omegas. I should have known Rathbone had something much more complex in store than a simple happy ending for this world. There are some amazing characters in the series who give us hope for the decency of individuals and their ability to make their own corner of the world better for those around them, there are characters who have been redeemed that I never thought possible to care for and there are unmitigated villains. The romances have all been off the charts hot and this is no exception. We learned a bit about Kee in the last book, but here we get his full story and mixed with a mafia storyline. It is quite a ride and not to be missed for its mix of romance, Daddy/boy, suspense and broken men finding comfort and healing with each other.

Omega UntamedAbel is an amazing assassin who never in a million years thought he'd fall in love and find a mate, but that's exactly what happens, and worst than that is his mate is Dagz... a male. Their relationship is funny at times but also loving in many ways.
As we move through this series I'm hooked on each and every character. When moving to the next book I miss the pair from the last but I'm quickly enveloped with the new pairing.

If you've been following the series, you've noticed by now each book adds new elements to the overall story of this world. This one adds a thrall - a once common Viking practice of making a slave from a person usually captured on a raid. The use of thralls and the branding on his neck hints to Viking origins, yet their world does not seem to contain any Viking-like cultures. And the cuffs, which relate to his curse. The curse is not fully explained, though by the end you do get a good feel for how it all works internally. I really wish more details had been provided for this, but sadly it was never explained. Even without it, I still gave this book 5 stars because of how much I enjoyed reading it. I love the dichotomy between the Alpha and Omega in this story; from physical to internal. I also really enjoyed the symbolism of the bells, and the use the assassin makes of them.

I've been pretty entwined with this series lately, and I was happy that Omega Untamed continued to have all those things which I loved in previous books; action, romance, impossible situations, danger, and trying to be more clever than their enemies.
This time the assassins were back as Abel was an alpha trained to be the shadow assassin to protect his king, and even if that didn't work out he started it as a career. Abel was hilarious and I loved how he could care less of what was expected of him by his rank. And Dagz, who was so strong despite all the bad things he went through because his nature was misunderstood.
Naturally I loved the parts where Lucien and Felix from the previous story appeared.

This series is really cute to me. Like little bites of cookies. Yes a lot of the characters are sociopaths but it's well written. Haha

I would *love* more backstory and explanation for Dagz and this whole thrall thing. Further.. just more Jester/Abel, please and thank you because I think he easily ties Simeon as my favorite assassin in this series. The end of this one was a little abrupt, but now the title for book six makes sense to me. Rather than complaining about the cliffhanger, I'm going to go read that now.
re-read: Abellllllllll! *ahem* yeah, so. still adore this book. obvs.

Abel is not your typical alpha, and Dagz is not your normal omega, these 2 are thrown in together in a situation where they must work together against a crazy omega trying to destroy Abel's former home. Dagz feels that he is out of control and wants Abel to tame him, but working with Abel makes him realize he can actually embrace his feral side.

This was an excellent addition to the series, my only complaint was the ending was so abrupt I was confused at first until I realized yes that's it. Yep just like this review. Lol
