In the timeless battle of good and evil, can love triumph? Shy Himeko adores Chikane, the gorgeous and cool "princess" of their exclusive boarding school. She's been looking forward to their joint 16th birthday party for weeks. But on that fateful day a shrine appears in the sky, giant robots ravage the school, and Himeko discovers that she is the reincarnation of the Solar Priestess--and Chikane is the reincarnated Lunar Priestess. As dark secrets unravel, one thing is clear: their life will never be the same...

I've read Vol. 1 & 2, watched the anime, and read the spin-off so this is my overall reaction to this story as a whole:
2 Priestesses doomed by destiny vs desired love and constantly being brought back. They took, "I'll find you and love you in every lifetime" seriously. THANKFULLY, in the spin-off we get to see them with a way happier turn of events compared to their previous lives.
Personally, I recommend reading the OG storyline despite it being a little complicated, then watching the anime to get a better feel of the plot, and then finish this entire thing by reading the spin-off to just leave this story as a "happy ever after" 🙄😭
Anyways, this was a decent story & I reread it for nostalgia's sake, but I liked the anime more.
I found it hard to get into this story. The art is too loose, too messy, & too crowded. I had trouble in a number of panels determining what was going on. Ok, priestesses, demons, ancient shrines, yeah yeah, what the heck does all that have to do with giant gundam? It is a very confusing story. I found the dialogue to be a bit stiff & unnatural, too. Unless you like giant robot battles, this probably won't interest you.
Well, enjoyed it just for the fact it was about our beloved couple. And it was less fan servicey than other Kaishaku's work. More respectful toward Himeko and Chikane, yet it seems authors could not hold onto that respect till the end. Anime did far better work respecting the characters, making the story timeline better and more causal, and talking about love, not turning it into hentai work. So really was better to see anime than read manga, except if one wants to spend more time with the characters they like.
This manga was amazing. I found out about this series from stumbling upon an AMV for it on YouTube. There is just something about the sweetness of it that drew me in. And, yes, I know it's shoujo-ai/yuri (romance between two girls instead of between a guy and girl) but that shouldn't stop someone from reading a good manga.
Another manga that I crossed. Usually I read so much that I actually don't remember if this one was recommended or I found it by chance... But whatever the case was, I'm glad! I always felt intrigued about afterlife and reincarnation. This manga has both, also mechas and of course Yuri explicit and very important in the story. I was very happy to read it. I have an smile in my face for this manga. I enjoyed everything: the art, the characters, the mechas, the story.<3
I really enjoyed this series, I'll admit that I did watch it rather than read the series (tho I am no working on reading the series.)
I love how two character love each other so.... even with the rather dark themes involved. I wish that a love for these two women was actually possible.... hopefully when they were reincarnated that was something that actually happen.
I saw the anime first and bought these out of curiosity. The front cover's claim that it "inspired the hit anime" is perfectly fair because it's like some kind of shit first draft.
A beautiful yuri love story between two priestesses. I am a huge fan of the work of Kaishaku and to me this is their crowing achievement. Not for younger readers, only for those who are 18+.
