SCHISM AFTERMATH The X-Men are divided. As the teammates part ways, Rogue, Magneto and Gambit attend to unfinished business, hoping to avoid answering the question: Whose side are they on?
Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name. See this thread for more information. Mike Carey was born in Liverpool in 1959. He worked as a teacher for fifteen years, before starting to write comics. When he started to receive regular commissions from DC Comics, he gave up the day job.
Since then, he has worked for both DC and Marvel Comics, writing storylines for some of the world's most iconic characters, including X-MEN, FANTASTIC FOUR, LUCIFER and HELLBLAZER. His original screenplay FROST FLOWERS is currently being filmed. Mike has also adapted Neil Gaiman's acclaimed NEVERWHERE into comics.
Somehow, Mike finds time amongst all of this to live with his wife and children in North London. You can read his blog at www.mikecarey.net.
After all the X-men have been through, fighting catastrophe after catastrophe after catastrophe, it's a little saddening to see them have to split because philosophical differences between Summers and Logan. In the wake of all their loss, Logan wants to take a more conventional approach to teaching the young mutants how to survive and how to be X-men, he wants to reopen the Xavier school. And the core X-men are split up, their cohesion and the great bond they'd created is done with. It's going to be interesting to see how they respond when confronted with the catastrophes such as they faced as a strong cohesive unit, but at least I know it's going to be challenging and they're going to be underdogs all the way, but all the more is their charm. Excited to see what Rogue and Logan can achieve back at the old school, my interest too, is piqued, will Rogue and Remy rekindle their love, and how would Magneto respond. Well, let's see what happens in the subsequent issues.
