A little short on plot even for BC. Soppy heroine falls in love with poor stable hand who turns out to be long lost Earl who was cheated out of his inheritance by evil Lord. Evil Lord decides to marry heroine against her wishes, that is until her parents say "go on, he is rich after all" or something to that effect. She agrees and suffers the horrors of being given plentiful sapphire necklaces and diamond bracelets etc. Finally she is rescued from marriage by the Earl who has the Lord arrested for no discernible reason, and claims his home back. All sounds very suspect to me!

How could he protect Louisa from the forces ranged against her?How they faced danger together and Louisa discovered Roderick's secret
Another quick, simple romance from Barbara, and although read by a man, wasn't too bad since even though it was through the point of view of the female lead. A forced marriage, hero in disguise, a damsel in distress, and loads of romance. Fine for teens and adults.
