"Did not like it." - 1 out of 5 star rating.

A disappointing ending to a disappointing comic book collection.

Union is the cheap soap opera of the Star Wars comic book collection universe. Little to no action, too much lovey-dovey between Luke and Mara, marriage prep/wedding planner simulator, and cheesy-incompetent bad guys.

Hard Skip on this series unless you are an absolute completionist like myself.

Beautiful moral of forgiveness and reconciliation triumphing over old enmities. Not only is it so sweet to see Luke marry Mara (my favourite part being R2-D2 as ring bearer!!) but it’s an excellent symbolism of peace at last between the Imperials and the Rebels to forge a new future together, too: the New Republic!

I can't tell you how many times over the years that I have read Union. If there was ever a graphic novel/comic that I wished was a full-fledged novel, it is this one. I loved Mara Jade from the very first time we meet her in Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire and new her and Luke were destined so when Union became available, I grabbed it and never let go. Might be corny at times but so much fun, so much Star Wars-ian brilliance. And yes, this is part of the Legends timeline and has nothing to do with Disney's future but I don't care because I just love this story so much.
