I stumbled onto these on my shelves while looking for something to read before bed. I'd forgotten all about them....

Here's the thing. There was a toy magazine called Toyfare, a price guide for collectible action figures. It's something I'd never know about, since I don't go in for that sort of thing.

BUT they also did irreverent little comics in their magazine, posing action figures, taking pictures, and adding speech bubbles. Those comics were really funny, and I'd always thumb through my comic friend's copies of Toyfare when I was at his house to read them.

Eventually they published collections of these comics, and *those* I bought. They're not high art, but they're funny.

What's more, I'm pretty sure they're where Seth Green got the idea for Robot Chicken.

Later edit: Apparently the guys that wrote this later teamed up with Seth Green and *wrote* robot chicken.

And now you know.

THIS!!!

This series of trades / graphic novels is how I got into action figure photography and stop motion animation using my Halo 1 & 2 action figures!

While I never read the actual "Toyfare Magazine" they originally span off from, these books were hilarious as a kid, and to this day, I still quote the last words of Anakin Skywalker, "Sure, Shakey Pete!" (if you know, you know)

Funny!!!!

Everything you ever wanted Comic Book characters to do, but were afraid to ask for. Spider-Man meets GI Joe AND Cobra! Skeletor realizes Prince Adam and He-Man look awfully similar! Dr. Doom has a yard sale!

Perfection! A true, twisted masterpiece!

The first few stories are hit and miss but once they find their stride it's comedy gold. Interesting to see that Seth Green provided a blurb on the cover since he'd go on to do robot chicken which is essentially a direct rip off.

Il meglio del Twisted Toyfare Theatre.
Risate, risate e ancora risate nerd. Perché solo se si è nerd si riescono a comprendere certe battute ironiche.
