PASSION UNCOVERED

To Casey, Montgomery Prep isn't just DC's most prestigious private school-it's her alma mater, the place where her fondest memories were made. It's also her current employer and the target of a dangerous cyber criminal. But even more shocking than the crime is the sexy FBI agent who comes to investigate . . .
With his six-plus frame and gym-sculpted body, no one would suspect FBI special agent Sam Cooper was once an awkward teenage computer geek-no one, that is, except Casey, the gorgeous girl who captured his heart on the first day of high school and held it for the last fourteen years. When a hunt for a hacker brings Casey back into Sam's life, his long-denied desire becomes impossible to ignore. He knows just how to make her forget the boy he was . . . and show her the man he's become.

Sometimes you just know…

“Sam went home from orientation psyched for the first day of school in a new place where he already had a friend. He came home on the second day of school friendless.”

When Sam Cooper met Casey Cooper on their first day at prep school, he thought Casey was it. Unfortunately, the first day aside, the days following seemed to disprove that theory over and over again. Fourteen years later, they meet up again at their alma mater and Sam is given another chance. Can he convince Casey that they were meant to be?

When I read this story tale of The Ugly Duckling kept playing in my mind with Sam firmly playing the lead character. He is six foot tall and buff now, showing little resemblance to his much younger, geekier self. He is still proudly a computer geek but he’s definitely anything but scrawny! When Sam meets up with Casey again the feelings he had for her are all he can think about. Casey remembers Sam as well but she was certain nothing could bridge the gap created so long ago.

I enjoyed this story of computer hacking and love set against the backdrop of the privileged Washington DC elite. While I didn’t find Casey’s character all that warm and appealing, Sam definitely ticked all the boxes! Handsome, smart and funny, I couldn’t believe how invested he was in a woman that, though he’d known her for fourteen years, he hadn't really spent a lot of time with. And once they reconnected, he was immediately in it for the long haul… That interesting judgement call aside, the pair really do seem to click. And I did feel for Casey as more of her backstory was shared.

Is it insta-love if they’ve known each for that long already? I’m not sure… What I do know is, the story is well-written and definitely worth a read for Sam alone! ~ Diane, 3.5 stars

I very rarely DNF a book (especially one that got decent reviews and ratings from others!), but I couldn't even get halfway through this one. Casey was impossible for me to relate to and hard to like, and I got tired of reading about Sam's insecurities about being a scrawny nerd in high school. That was ten years ago people! These two acted like 17 year old kids instead of the successful adults they'd become. Ugh.

Okay, so I’ve done it again. I’ve managed to grab a book to read and not actually read the blurb. Let’s be honest, I’m me. I saw FBI Agent and I was sold. In Deep with the FBI Agent is the third book in the Alpha Heroes series from Lynne Silver, however, it is the first book I’ve read in the series. It wasn’t really the type of book I thought it would be. I was expecting a romantic suspense. The book is more romance with suspense elements.

The series is connected by all three heroines, who happened to go to the same prep school in the DC area. As I mentioned, the books are standalones. If you’ve read the two previous books, you will get a glimpse of the previous couples. No secrets from the previous books are disclosed, so you can definitely go back and read them.

I found Casey Cooper to be a little hard to like at times. In high school, she was the “Queen B” and was constantly being mean to Sam. She had her reasons for being the way she was and she definitely did feel bad in high school and afterwards for the way she treated him. No matter what Casey said or did, Sam would always take everything in stride. Even ten years after high school, Casey is still trying to overcome issues from her youth.

For me, FBI Special Agent Sam Cooper made the book. There isn’t a lot of his past and background mentioned, but you get flashbacks of him throughout high school and college. Sam was a scrawny nerd in high school, who had a heart of gold. He was truly a diamond in the ruff. He grew up and took his hacking ability to the FBI and became a member of the FBI Cyber Action team.

A series of cyber attacks against private schools and the dreaded ten year high school reunion bring Casey and Sam back together. For fourteen years, Sam has had a crush on Casey and he’s determined to make her finally see him for him. As a couple, these two are good together. Sam shows over and over again what a great guy he is and that he’s always known the true Casey. The furniture breaking bedroom action isn’t in your face graphic, however there are light descriptions. The suspense element takes a back seat to the romance. However, when it becomes the main focus of the book, you are able to figure out what's truly happening.

Sam Cooper has changed a lot in the last fourteen years, seeing him now you would never have suspected him to have been the awkward teenage computer nerd that he was in high school. He is now a well muscled, FBI agent that spends his days investigating crime and hunting down criminals. For the last fourteen years he has harbored a crush on a beautiful girl that stole his heart back in high school, no matter how hard he tries to get over her, thoughts of her are always still there lingering in the back of his mind. If only he could see her just one more time, and have the opportunity to tell her how he feels...

Montgomery prep is under attack, and Casey will do anything to protect the sanctity of her alma mater and place of employment. She is relieved to find out that the FBI is sending an agent to help investigate the cyber attack, and catch the criminal who is threatening her school...but when the agent shows up she gets the surprise of her life, he is beyond gorgeous and riddled with temptation... and he looks so familiar.

This was my first experience with Ms. Silver's work and I have to say that it left a VERY memorable first impression, so much so, I plan to read more of her books in the very near future. This story grabbed my attention right from the start and held on tight until the very last page was turned! Casey and Sam's chemistry burned brightly from start to finish, which helped to create some very steamy scenes that left me in dire need of a fan...it was HOT! HOT! HOT!! I highly recommend you get your hands on this book, not only is it sure to supply you with a few hours of some VERY satisfying reading but it will have you wishing you had a Sam from your past too!!

I requested ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Once again, Lynne Silver did a great job with this book. I was hooked from page 1. I can not believe I am going to say this, but this is my favorite book in this series (so far if there are more.....hint hint!!) I loved book #1, Hot Nights with the Fireman, and thought that was my favorite book, but I was wrong. I loved all the computer tech talk, the cyber hacking, and the chemistry between Sam and Casey.

Let's go back a step. Sam and Casey met at orientation at Montgomery Prep in their Freshman year. They sat beside one another for the entire 4 years (due to alphabetically order). Sam had a major crush on Casey, but Casey was not so nice to him. He left notes in her locker, etc, but did she keep them?

Lots of people say that the geeks in high school are the ones to be HOT when they grow up. Not sure if that happened with my high school. I have never gone to a reunion. Now 14 years later, Sam is HOT and Casey is thinking she should had been nicer to him back in high school.

Casey is working for her alma mater, Montgomery Prep. Sam asked her questions if they have been hacked. There is a lot of suspense on who did it. I loved that added into the book. The chemistry between Sam and Casey is hot. It was nice to see the 2 couples from the first 2 books.

I hope there are more books in this series. I will definitely read them.

ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review

This is the 3rd Alpha Heroes book, but all are stand alone.

I have enjoyed the previous books in this series, so it was a no brainer to read In Deep With The FBI Agent.

Sam Cooper, FBI computer analyst, has been in love with Casey Cooper - no relation, because that would be like, eeew! - since freshman year at high school.

A decade later, their worlds have been thrown together again due to work.

I loved how Sam wasn't shy about going for what he wanted, what he has always wanted. Casey at times I felt to still be closed off, a little mean spirited towards Sam, but as we got to know more of her, their history, I could kind of understand a bit why she acted the way she did.

then again, why wouldn't she want a sexy, hot FBI guy? I'll take him if she doesn't want him!

There was a bit of mystery throughout the book that Sam is working on figuring out, all the while trying to keep his "one" safe.. and satisfied!

Sam and Casey have off the charts chemistry, and we get some smoking hot sexy times!

I enjoy Ms Silver's writing. She draws me in, and keeps me wanting more.

I hope we get more of the Alpha Heroes series. If not, I look forward to what she brings us next.

This book was really cute! I enjoyed the story line and the characters. Sam was hot even though he was nerdy. Casey was a little unreal at the beginning but she got more realistic as the book continued. The end was extremely predictable and disappointing but all in all, it was a fun read.

Sam has loved Casey since the first day of high school. Unfortunately, on that day Casey decided to be popular and ignore the nerdy Sam. 10 yrs later Sam still hasn’t forgotten Casey and the new case he is on gives him the opportunity he never had. When a hacker is targeting prep schools and Casey’s school is on the list Sam comes back into her life as the FBI agent in charge. Sam not only sweeps into her life but also sweeps her off her feet. Will Casey open up and finally let Sam in or will Sam’s last chance fall apart?

I totally fell in love with Sam. He is one of my book boyfriends now. I wasn’t a fan of Casey, the heroine, but I eventually let her have Sam. This steamy love story has excitement, sentimentality, steamy sex and love woven so well that you forget your reading a book that will come to a conclusion. The history of the two characters is a mixture of sweet and angsty. Lynne Silver does a marvelous job getting these two characters together with all the trouble and hoops that a good romance incorporates. If your looking for your next book boyfriend you will want to pick up this book. But, I am calling dibs on Sam Cooper. :)

Casey and Sam have so much sexual tension and Casey knows how to push the right buttons, “I showered this morning, and I didn’t play basketball. Besides,” she lowered her voice to a sultry invitation, “I’m plenty wet.” His eyes widened, and in a second, she was being backed into the tile wall as his big body invaded her space, his hard ***k pushing against her lower belly." I liked this book Sam was quite the alpha caveman and I really liked that.
