Xesh and his Rakatan master are leading their ravening army to the temple of Anil Kesh and the chasm below, hoping to find a gateway to the galaxy at the bottom! But Je'daii Shae Koda dogs Xesh's steps, hoping to bring her lover back to the light side of the Force!
John Ostrander is an American writer of comic books. He is best known for his work on Suicide Squad, Grimjack and Star Wars: Legacy, series he helped create.
Originally an actor in a Chicago theatre company, Ostrander moved into writing comics in 1983. His first published works were stories about the character "Sargon, Mistress of War", who appeared the First Comics series Warp!, based on a series of plays by that same Chicago theatre company. He is co-creator of the character Grimjack with Timothy Truman, who originally appeared in a back up story in the First Comics title, Starslayer, before going on to appear in his own book, again published by First Comics in the mid 1980s. First Comics ceased publication in 1991, by which time Ostrander was already doing work for other comics companies (his first scripts for DC Comics were published in 1986).
Prior to his career in comic books, Ostrander studied theology with the intent of becoming a Catholic priest, but now describes himself as an agnostic. His in-depth explorations of morality were later used in his work writing The Spectre, a DC Comics series about the manifestation of the wrath of God. His focus on the character's human aspect, a dead police detective from the 1930s named Jim Corrigan, and his exploration of moral and theological themes brought new life to a character often thought of as impossible to write. He has also worked on Firestorm, Justice League, Martian Manhunter, Manhunter, Suicide Squad, and Wasteland for DC.
[Original review January 8, 2017] The second to last issue of Force War, finds the Je'daii involved in an intense battle on Tython with the Rakatan Infinite Empire. Predor Skal'Nas and Xesh have taken Daegen Lok down into the chasm on Anil Kesh, in search of the ancient Infinity Gate, which the Rakatan hope to use to conquer other galaxies. I really liked this issue a lot, mostly due to the fact that the mystery of the chasm was finally revealed.
Absolutely loving this Rakatan Infinite Empire comic series!
- The war on Tython rages as the Rakata invade. - The space above and the skies below are full of dog fights. - Flesh Raiders wage battle on the ground. - The Rakatan Predor approaches the Kwa Gate. - Je'daii and all the other key players are on the hunt for Xesh the Betrayer. - The rancors are still flying, lol.
Really looking forward to the grand finale coming up next! This has been such a wild ride and a huge part of me doesn't want it to end. Hopeful for a strong finish! Let's go!
These are amazing Star Wars comics that venture outwards from the Clone Wars and the classic Sith vs Jedi, Empire vs Rebel type material. Absolutely love it and for a comic book - so engaging, so content rich, and really if these are getting 5's the bar/expectations are too high. John Ostrander - per usual, amazing work!
