In cumulative verses using rebuses, a young boy describes all the things he will need since he is not feeling well--until he learns that school is closed because of a snow storm.
Such a cute book. Great pictures in mid-sentence to help developing readers and ESOL students follow along. The repetition also helps as things that are needed when one is sick are shown over and over. Great lead in for students to write a story about things needed in other situations (ex: going camping, going to Grandma's house, going swimming).
A good participatory book for storytime. Repeating a list of things that he needs b/c he is home from school. It's ok if kids too young to read b/c their part shows a picture
This book reminded me of the Shel Silverstein poem about a child who is sick, until the child finds out that it is Saturday. I liked the addition of the pictures to help children read it.
My grandma got this out for me because I'm not feeling well today. That lady has a book for everything! I liked the repetition, the rhymes, and how some of the words are replaced with pictures.
