Julia can't help but be a little bit of a Grinch this Christmas. After a painful break up, her little sister showing up with a surprise fiancé wasn't exactly Julia's Christmas wish. Especially when her mother won't stop reminding her that she is currently single.
When Julia's mother notices that she's missing an ingredient for cookies, Julia leaps at the opportunity to get away from everyone. While avoiding her family at the grocery store, she runs into her high school crush. Tucker Mills. The most popular guy in her class. The one that she never had the courage to talk to. And now he's finally noticed her. Or maybe he's noticed her the whole time...
Can a snow storm, late night confessions, and a little bit of Christmas magic finally bring Julia and Tucker together?

I really really 100% love this book. I think it might meant to be a short story but I would really love this book to be much longer!
I wanted to give this book 5 stars (and I think might) because this book is extremely safe and there won't be anything that is not good about it because:
1. It's short, so there won't be a long whiney intro that bores people 2. It's a Christmas romance, what can go wrong? 3. It's another sexy story by ivy smoak, what can I say?
But I don't think it would be fair if I gave this 5 stars when I have given other longer and denser novels 5 stars... should I? I might do it cos it's so good.
"I had never felt more alone than I did this Christmas."
A little bit of Christmas magic and some fate brings two very single people together who had crushes on each other since their middle/high school years. An adorable, spicy and quick holiday read!
I love Ivy’s books and I did like this, but it was just too short. Everything happened in the space of like 6/7 hours. I know it’s a novella but maybe it could have been twice the length and it would still be a novella
Julia and Tucker were a bit cringy, but still, they were obviously meant to be together. I just wished Tucker wasn’t so over the top with his declarations as this would in all honesty put me off in real life. Far too sappy.
For being such a short novella I actually really enjoyed it. Usually novellas rush in with no connection to the characters but this one felt like you have already known them. A cute Christmas read, with a hint of spice
So I’m not always a fan of second chance romance, but this was really cute. I love Tucker’s boldness of just jumping right into fake dating and not letting Julia have to deal with the whole being single at home during the holidays shenanigans. Julia and Tucker had great chemistry, and this was a quick and fun read.
A really quick Christmas romance. Sort of a second chance, definitely insta-love. High school attracted opposites who never realized that their feeling were mutual. Even now she can't believe it.
Sometimes you meet someone that you want to get to know better, but you never take the opportunity and they slip away.
Time goes on but fate steps in and brings that one person back into your life.
Tucker Mills is standing in front of Julia and her heart nearly stops when he approaches her and says her name. He was her high school crush and he's only gotten sexier with time.
So can he help turn her gloomy Christmas into a hot, sexy, with a touch of naughty Christmas?
This a quick, fun, naughty read that will get you into the holiday spirit. Tucker and Julia are quite simply amazing. Their chemistry is off the charts and will warm you up on a cold winter night. This story reminds you that sometimes great happiness come from unexpected places.
Disappointing. The story moved too quickly. The characters, as well as the plot, were underdeveloped. Julia and Tucker re-connected on Christmas Eve at the grocery store. 6 hours later, on Christmas Day, they are having sex on the floor at his parent's house. Really?
Julia can’t help being against Christmas traditions. Her younger sister is engaged. Julia never told her family why she dumped her fiancé after he cheated on her. She was in kitchen with her mom who was looking in cabinets for flour. Julia offered to go to the store. While shopping in the store someone called her name. She turned and her high school crush was standing there. Tucker was there. She couldn’t believe he was here and he knew who she was. They got to talking before he got a call. Julia couldn’t believe she saw him. She was in her car trying to start it. A knock on her window offering help. He offered to drive her home. They got to talking on the way to her house. She told him about her ex. How her mom keeps bringing up relationships. Tucker got to her house and her mom knocked on the window. Tucker pretended to be her boyfriend and join her family in their activities. Julia thought they were pretending to be in relationship. Tucker told her some eye opening things like he had a crush on her in school. He wanted her in high school and now. He got a call and had to leave. Julia talked to her sister. They decided she should change and go to Tucker’s house. She didn’t have his number and decided to just walk to his parents house to her luck the door opened and Tucker was there. He was dressed because he couldn’t sleep either. He had the same idea to go to her parents house. Tucker revealed things Julia didn’t think was possible. This is a good Christmas magic second chance story
This was a very fast paced novella, which, aren’t all novellas fast paced? HAHA. This follows Julia and Tucker, and after breaking up with her boyfriend for cheating on her, Julia hates that she’s home for the holidays while her sister’s happiness is being gloated everywhere. She runs to the store for her family and runs into her teenage crush: Tucker. He also happened to be the popular football player back in high school.
Enter Tucker, similarly single for the holidays. And he always had a thing for her too - the quiet, shy, smart girl. They fake date for a moment, and then all their previous feelings from their younger selves come to light. It’s a sweet read, and there’s even some steam!
What is it with Christmas time romances? They just make me feel a warm & magical inside and Juliet & Tucker did that for me. Juliet is struggling with the holidays. Her family is on her nerves so when her Mom is missing an ingredient she jumps at the chance to get it & get out for awhile. Thank goddess she did because she runs in to Tucker, the man she's crushed on since middle school. Juliet has a second chance to make this more than a crush and Tucker helps her out with that, giving all the right signals that he wants that too. A cute, sexy (Elf 😉) story with a HFN. This was a perfect read for December.
tis the season for holiday fun! this short holiday novella falls the most insta-lust/love story I have ever come across. I understand novellas are all about that instant gratification, but this one didn't even try to make me feel like I have to work for it. We have return to hometown fake-dating to love confessions within less than 24 hours and that just doesn't work for me because of how unrealistic it is. If there was some developed history with the characters (and not them just saying they liked each other in grade school), I would have been more on board with this, but it just fell flat. And the spice wasn't worth it.
When you get a second chance to be with your secret high school crush, would you take it? Julia and Tucker are both home for Christmas, and when they run into each other, it gives Julia the perfect opportunity to get her family off her back about her single status. This is a warm to blazing hot Christmas short which shows that when life gives you another chance, you take that gift and run with it! A funny and sweet-hot quick read. Loved it! I noticed a couple of typos, but I really enjoyed Julia and Tucker's story.
The magic of Christmas. Since my 19th birthday, this was my very birthday wish. I was under the impression because of lies from someone who I really thought they cared about me that the love of my life really didn't love me back. When I finally saw him again it was too late. 😢. It has now been forty years and now my life has come full circle and all I want is a chance to talk to him one more time, but now I can't find him. Stories like keep a little hope in my heart that one day we will see each other again. ❤
Such a great short holiday read. You get a sweet, overly adorable and sexy quick read once again by Ivy Smoak. Julia is having a crappy Christmas after leaving a cheating fiancé the previous year, only to find out her younger sister is engaged and her mom is harping on her about her single status. Loved how Julia and tucker ran into each other, it was such a meet-cute. You could tell he wanted to be with her by all the things he was trying to do for her and in order to spend more time together. So adorable how they both had secret crushes. Loved it!
Loved this novella - would have loved it to be a full length novel!
Tucker, the quarterback, and Julia, the nerd, both had crushes on each other in high school. In town for the holidays, they run into each other at the grocery store & the attraction is there, and more.
