The patron saint of the artful home is back - for another season of delicious foods, beautiful decorations, and memorable family celebrations. This year her sack is bulging with great ideas, from unforgettable handmade gifts to ways to enshrine this year's memories. And the book is packed with new seasonal artwork!
This latest offering in Mary Engelbreit's exciting new Christmas series is full of ways to set your table, stuff your family, welcome your guests...and welcome the season's guest of honor! All with Mary Engelbreit's customary wit, sparkle, and warmth. For in all the holiday hubbub Mary never loses sight of the heart of the matter - or the true meaning of Christmas.
Special Feature: Mary chooses some of her favorite Christmas illustrations and tells why she loves them best.
Mary Engelbreit grew up studying the illustrations in the vintage storybooks of her mother’s childhood, and she developed a unique style that harkens back to those simpler times. Mary’s distinctive images have made her a celebrity to millions, who eagerly snap up gift items, calendars, books, fabrics, and more.
Mary’s New York Times bestselling The Night Before Christmas is part of the holiday tradition for families across the country. Other beloved additions to a child’s first bookshelf are her New York Times bestselling Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose and Mary Engelbreit's Nursery Tales, which are perfect companions to this volume.
This is probably my favorite of the three Engelbreit books I brought home from the book sale, in that it contains the most project ideas I'll probably actually make. There's a quartet of two-dimensional gingerbread houses that would look pretty awesome made up in felt, so I'd better get busy.
This is a Christmas craft book. Some of the recipes look quite yummy. Engelbreit's own illustrations sprinkled throughout are fun. The craft ideas, not so much. Either very unhelpful directions for the couple of projects I did like, or a lot of "Why go to the effort to make that?"
This is feel good Christmas book with fun ideas for activities and patterns for both family & friends. I love her artwork which is part of the joy of reading this book.
