Zee Huxley has enjoyed many years of writing stories, songs, and poetry.
In the 1990’s, she wrote a weekly column, Midnight Ramblings, for the then popular website Themestream where she had many followers who enjoyed her diverse collections of stories and poetry.
Zee lives on the Big Island of Hawaii, but not in a grass shack or a tree house like the Swiss family Robinson. She likes the thought of it, but there are strict building codes against such romantic ideas as these. She forages for food in her backyard jungle, is a gourmet health food cook, and a vegetarian who eats meat.
Ms. Huxley’s primary goal in life is to help save the world. Though she has been accused of being an armchair activist, she will never give up on her goal. Besides all that, she does not own an armchair. She does, however, own a red canvas recliner, which is in actuality a piece of lawn furniture that she keeps in the living room, passing it off as a piece of European modern decor.
Zee has several books waiting in the wings, including a continuation of her first cozy mystery novel. She is currently working with a partner on a screenplay.

Eve is a romance writer who needs a break and some inspiration. She is out having coffee and she notices this woman with flaming red hair in this travel agency that specializes in cheap trips. Somehow she gets talked into going to this small island by the redhead. They travel together, share a room at this rundown resort together. Magnolia also works part time at the resort. She also lives on the other side of the island.

They find out that that the owner of the resort was found dead, drowned a few weeks ago. His newphew was surprised to find out that he inherited a resort that he didn't even know about.

There is intrique, a mix of unusual characters, beautiful scenery, and a chef that fixes strange dishes. I would lose weight at this resort. I am looking forward to reading book 2.

A tropical Fawlty Towers!

A good read. Especially for any fans out there of Fawlty Towers but who also love cozy mysteries. A plot of murder, thefts and mistaken identities. The characters are as zany as you could wish for with everything from a drooling baby to the white socks and sandal tourist. Plus we also have a good smattering of romance.
She has come to catsit and hopefully write a sequel to her first book. Peace however was short around the apartment as Anthony and Cleopatra where in the thrall of cat love (well almost). However all that changed with the arrival of a neighbour. Now she is on her way to a small tropical island 'to get inspiration'. The new owner and his assistant have also arrived after the previous owners unexpected death. Take an assortment of dysfunctional guests, a bevy of strange employees, a murder, a missing woman, missing articles from the resort, a criminal ring and stir well with natives (of the island) and romance. Will anyone make sense of it before more deaths follow?

Bon Voyage my love, by Zee Huxley, is an enjoyable book about a romance writer (Eve) who travels to a small island with a friend , in the hope of finding some insperation for her next novel.
Eve finds more than she bargained for with a real life murder mystery on the island, along with some amusing guests, thieves and romance along the way.
This book is funny with a cast of interesting characters, a fast and satisfying read.
I won this book through Goodreads. Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review this book

If you're looking for a light read and enjoy chick-lit, this might be exactly what you are looking for. It is a cheesy romance (and the author actually uses this phrase in the book!) that would be most appreciated by young adults / new adults. Throw in a murder or two to generate a plot line and you never know what might happen. It is not going to change your view of the world or offer any profound insights but can be an option to while away a lazy afternoon or two during the heat of summer.

From the first paragraph I was snickering. This was a slightly wobbly, fun ride. There was an interesting cast of characters. Interesting places and situations, too. With a mystery that lurked in the background. I enjoyed the story but felt the flow was inconsistent. Actually, 3 1/2+ stars.

This is a cute romance about a woman who goes to a South Pacific island intending to get inspiration for her writing of romance novels, but who instead finds storms, a murder, some very strange happenings, and of course, a romance.
