(RabidReads.com) Finally. The last book of any series is usually bittersweet to say the least, especially when it’s a series that was so well loved by me from the minute that I found it. I started this series because I loved the cover. I quickly fell in love with the characters, the premise, and of course the romance. I wanted to read this book, but I am really not happy to say goodbye to all the characters that have become so beloved to me. A copy of this book was given to me by the author, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Ruby is just one of the wonderful characters in this book. As the main character, she has been through it all-pain, loss, suffering, and of course a great love and many friendships. She’s an RB, the last of her kind and constantly on the brink of extinction throughout this whole series. RB’s are the scariest and strongest of all werewolves. One can take out a platoon of soldiers, before the soldiers even realize what is happening. Ruby was not aware that Scarlet(the RB) lived inside her until her parents were brutally killed, and Ruby, once blind most of her life, had her sight restored. Some readers love Scarlet. I, on the other hand wasn’t won over by her until this book, possibly somewhat in the previous book as well. She is the total opposite of Ruby, violent, selfish, arrogant, sarcastic, loyal, the list goes on. Sean is Ruby’s great love. He’s immortal, and the son of Ares, the God of War. He is ancient, lived to kill(wiping out the Fae, among others)for too many years to count, and falling for Ruby completely changed him. He can still be ruthless, but, oh has she has softened him! And then there is Cooper. What can I say, I love his character dearly, and have since the beginning. He’s just such a wonderful man, also a wolf, and loves Ruby dearly, as she does him-not romantically, although I wanted that for them through several books. So many more characters than I can mention, ones I loved, ones I hated, and one that was enigmatic to say the least(Gavin), all made this a well rounded series.

This particular read was the culmination of all the problems from throughout the whole series. Too many to go into here. Natusch ties all the ends up neatly and presents it to her readers in such a way that the reader becomes totally invested all over again. Not that I was ever not invested in this series! There’s lots of romance for Ruby and Sean, a possibility for a happily ever after for Cooper, plenty of action/suspense, and the whole last part of the book had me crying.

Me, crying while reading is something I hadn’t done in years-especially an ugly cry. Quite the accomplishment for this author! This book wasn’t always easy to read, especially towards the end. I have to mention that there is loss, and my red eyes proved it. That’s just a heads up!

Well written as always, I loved the whole thing, and there’s nothing I would have changed about the series ending. Well, maybe a couple of things, but it all added to the story. The redemption(in my eyes anyway)of Scarlet was the icing on the cake for me, as well. The pacing was perfect, the premise well executed, and it more than earned a five star rating. Highly recommended!

FYI-As of this writing, Caged is free on Amazon.

Betrayed is, without a doubt, a flawless conclusion to The Caged Series. From Ruby's first sight of Sean's gorgeous green eyes in Caged, we ventured through an emotional and physical war with her. She has grown from a captivating and graceful being, though haphazard and left footed at times, to a driven and unmoving warrior. I adore her in all of her badassery and overwhelming love for others. Yes, that means you too, Scarlet. I knew you had a softer side, but we will keep that between us. We don't want to ruin your soulless street cred. *wink*

This was the first time that I have finished a series without wanting more. I was given everything that my heart desired, save for the moments my heart was broken. And in the end, I was given even more than I anticipated. As I turned the last page to rest, a tear rolled down my cheek, and a smile of joy and content spread across my lips.

I'm in awe of the finale in the Caged Series! This book was brilliant and had you on the edge of your seat. Alliances were made , hearts were broken and some devastating losses. But through everything things end exactly as they should be. Scarlett and Ruby were the perfect blend of character. Her pack was outstanding and Sean was her destiny. <3 No matter where her family ends up in some way they will.always be together. Another 5 star read by Amber Lynn Natusch.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

It’s been four years, almost to the day, since Caged, the first installment in the Caged series, was released, and Betrayed FINALLY gives us all the answers we’ve been waiting for. Plus, some answers to questions we didn’t even know we had.

This book brings the entire cast full circle with the series-long story arc. Unfortunately, not everyone can live happily ever after, so trust me when I give you this warning: BRING TISSUES. I actually didn’t sob as badly as I thought I was going to, but I’ve been preparing myself to read this book for MONTHS. Maybe the build up was enough to keep me from ugly crying all over my Kindle.

There are a handful of moments throughout this book that will shock you. Moments which will make you want to reach out and shake the author. You wont see it coming, and it’ll hurt. lol Like, a lot.

The entire time I was reading Betrayed, I was very surprised by the amount of humor the author put into the story. The entire series has built up, each book becoming darker and darker. I expected the final book in the series to be near apocalyptic, but the old Ruby humor you’re used to is still there. If anything, I think she got funnier. 🙂

Overall, BETRAYED was an epic ending to an epic series and I’m beyond sad to see it end. Dont forget, though. This isn’t the end of this world! The author has a spinoff series with 47North called the Unborn series which focuses on the Detroit chapter of the PC. Plus, she’s got something else in the works with this world that I cant spill the beans about just yet. I’ve already started reading it and OMG it’s so good!

Another fantastic installment in the caged universe and I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up the series. As a reader, there wasn’t anything I would have wanted differently for the characters. Well, there might be a few less dead, but….

I have been anticipating this final book of the Caged series for a good long time, and for one reason or another have not been able to dive into it until now. I wasn't disappointed. While it took me just a little bit to get back into the characters and plot, once I was in the story progressed very quickly. What did surprise me was the lack of "adult situations" if you get my drift. I recall the other books in this series as being a bit more lascivious. But that doesn't mean there isn't romance. There wasn't as much laughter as I had hoped, but an abundance of tears (Natusch herself said she was sobbing while writing crucial scenes). I was content with how things wrapped up, but hope that these characters will not leave her alone and will push themselves into some of her other novels. Will have to wait and see.

Everything gets 4 stars if you cry.
I gotta say, I wasn't a huge fan of Sean throughout the entire series.
I was team Cooper all the way. But I also didn't mind Sean.
But when he died. I cried so much that my family thought someone had died in my life (I was reading on my phone, so they presumed I was talking with friends) Then of course, they laughed hard at me.
So normally that would mean a 5-star rating because it drew so much emotion from me.
But I marked it down 1 star because it also had Gavin in it. Who I hate immensely even though he sacrificed himself in the end to save Sean. And one of my pet peeves where everyone loves Ruby. Why does everyone have to love her so much? All these men loving Ruby. It was annoying.
That's all.
Everything else was so damn good that I can't believe it's all over.
Cannot wait for the next series!

The end of a great series....

This was a great series to read and Ms. Natusch is one hell of a writer. I started reading her writing with a different series, but I looked for other books and found these. You won't be disappointed if you read them all, but you will wish that real life wouldn't interfere until you've reached the ending. This author is definitely going on my list of automatically read whatever she writes list.

Breathtaking!

Another breathtaking read by Amber Lynn Natusch! So sad to see the series end but wow what and end! This book, like all of her others, has a little bit of everything. I finished this book in one day, just couldn't put it down. If you like a supernatural read, grab this book along with the 8that came before it in the series and you won't be disappointed.

Wow! I didn't see some of these twists coming.

Great book and a great series! Several twists I did not see coming. One hit me hard enough I was tempted to set the book aside but couldn't stop. Have the tissue box near by. Loved this whole series and this is my favorite!

Paranormal intrigue

Do not read this book without reading the previous 8. This book is the conclusion of and I think fantasy story. And have plenty of kleenex handy.

The Caged world will forever be one of my absolute favorite worlds, and I decided that a full reread was in order. I may not have started this world from the true beginning, but the whole world is absolutely epic.

This is definitely the epic conclusion to one of my favorite series. This book is packed full of action. It also gives you all the feels, even on a reread I cried so hard at parts. Such a great ending to a wonderful series!

What is there to say? Goodbye….. no it’s just too hard, for me anyway. I have LOVED every second I’ve spent reading this series. I have to say that if you have not read the Caged series, what the hell are you waiting for?

Shall we begin?.......

So I honestly hesitated, I did really. I mean, who in their right mind wants to say goodbye to a series they truly LOVE? But guess what? It’s not goodbye, it never really is goodbye. Why? Because we have the ability to pick up any one of the 9 books that Amber Lynn Natusch wrote and go right back to that moment when we all fell in love with Sean, Scarlet, Ruby and the entire gang. Another reason I love to read, is that we can always go back re-read and discover something new we may have missed in our haste to know what happens next. The build up, the fall and then the goodbyes, were hard not gonna lie here. But all well worth it, worth every tear I shed, every sigh and every bit of all the emotions I’ve felt. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

Ruby/Scarlet does not disappoint in her journey, and the adrenaline rush I've come to love when reading this series was definitely there roaring her head, kept me gripping my tablet not letting go, not wanting to let go. EVER. Sean *sighs I’ve always loved Sean, and as usual he does not disappoint either. Cooper, god who doesnt adore and love Cooper the older brother type the alpha. I miss them already and I seriously just finished this book!! (Looking forward to my re-read). Gavin, I really didn’t like him at all, but he has redeemed himself here in this final book and for that I am glad. Well played Gavin. There are so many things that happen in this book because it is the final book, I could go on and on but I won’t. Please I beg you go get this final book!

Amber Lynn Natusch, thank you for this amazing journey for sharing Ruby, Scarlet, especially Sean (wink) the entire gang and their story. I look forward to the new journey.

The Caged Series is well worth the read. And now that it is completed you will be able to enjoy the binge read rather than wait for each one. Major plus. I'm pretty sure I've rated them all 5 stars except this one.

Here is the thing. Part of me feels Natusch was so ready to end the series that this one lacked something essential to Ruby. Ruby repeated her self so many time and the conversations seemed repetitive in the extreme. There was a lot of stand around and explaining everything though I don't know that I actually feel everything was resolved. But Ruby got a happy ending and that is what I wanted.

Despite the story feeling a little shoved together, the great characters were still there as were the emotions, the friendships and all that comes with Ruby and her patchwork pack.

I might not have totally loved this installment but overall the series is excellent and for supernatural fans this is a must read.

If you reading this and you haven’t read the any of the Caged Series yet, you should start now. Amber Lynn Natusch is a great story teller. Her characters are rich in personality. Every character has a unique voice and contributes in a way to the story that enhances it. They are not filler. ALN writing makes you laugh, and cry, even at the same time! The stories flow flawlessly.

Betrayed is the final book in the Caged Series by Amber Lynn Natusch. All books must be read in order to understand Betrayed, including the novellas.

Betrayed picks up where Strayed ended. Ruby/Scarlet is out for revenge. We get the answers that we have had throughout the series. The story moves very quickly and is action packed. I laughed out loud numerous times. I felt the words of characters wound me as if they were said to me. There were mind blowing, jaw dropping moments. There were moments that made me cry. I grieved with the characters. The ending was perfect.

An amazing and intense conclusion to a fantastic series. Once again we are thrust into the world of Ruby and Sean. Secrets are learned, love is tested and answers revealed. From the start, Betrayed is filed with action and suspense and you get sucked into the drama that unfolds. You will laugh, you will cry and you will wonder how you will ever move on. You will not be disappointed at all. Amber has cleverly woven an intricate and bittersweet tale that is wrapped up perfectly in the end; no lingering questions, no what if's. To say I will miss these characters and their story is an understatement, but something tells me that Amber has more up her sleeve than we know. I fell in love with this series from the start, rooted for the characters and sat on the edge of my seat as we finally get the long awaited conclusion to this gripping story. I would highly recommend this book and this series.

I don't quite know where to start... I've loved this series for years – Caged helped kick-start my love of paranormal/urban fantasy. It has literally changed my life, as I have met so many wonderful people because I was introduced to this genre. I have read thousands of books over the past 4 years, and this series still stands as one of (if not) my favourites.

I love the story, the characters and the author. Although there has definitely been times over the course of the series, and especially during this book, where I wanted to shake Amber and ask what the hell she was thinking!

I can't really say that I enjoyed this book. My emotions were all over the place, and it's a good thing I wasn't reading a paperback or I would've smudged the pages in spots! There were lots of surprises, plenty of action and quite a few answers. I liked the conclusion and I can't wait for the spin-off series as I am going to miss these characters more than I should.

Fantastic

I can only say Oh my Gosh , I refuse to give anything away because if you have read them, all this book will send you to places you never thought possible. With the love I feel for Ruby and her pack I was crying, at points and scared at others ,I think I felt every emotion possible reading this book, Betrayed . There are so many answers I was thrown off my chair. The PC and Ruby's pack all feel like family so I really felt as though I was there throughout .. If you have not read this series pleas read it ... You will fall in love with it and all the characters. I will warn you they stay with you for a long time. Enjoy.. I give this book a 10..

I had to put the brakes on that emotional roller coaster ride. Up and down, left, right, loop after loop. Then BAM Amber rips your heart out and stuffs it back. I was in a public place when my heart was removed! Try holding back all emotions while surrounded by people. This is was a great way to end a series, that has taken many of us readers to an unbelievable world. Every character had a purpose, and with that, this story will always have a piece of my heart. I will forever be grateful to have joined this Caged world. Thank you Amber for such an unbelievable journey in your crazy ass roller coaster of a brain!
