Eines meiner liebsten historischen Romane.
Weiß nicht weshalb, aber ich mag die Geschichte und den Schreibstil sehr gerne. (:

As a lover of historical fiction books, I was exited to start this one because the writer has studied the historical era, she writes about, in depth, she didn't just research the historical events. Well, unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected. 
The setting is pretty nice, the characters, the events, everything is described realistically and the text is full of images. The story and the plot is very good and so nicely planed. So I really do not know what was it that I did not like. 
I just couldn't keep reading, until I pushed my self through it and still I was, like, skipping paragraphs, pages, even whole chapter at times. I struggled to keep up with the characters because of the names. Maybe it was the writing itself. Who knows?

So well, this book could have been worse and it also could have been better.
Actually it was pretty much the right book for my reading mood when I picked it up.
The story was okay, the setting and historical background were really good and it was obvious that a lot of research went into writing the book. Sometimes however it was too obvious. Together with a in parts stiff writing style it made for some awkward reading moments (style-wise). (Actually this book really would have benefited from a good editing...)
So yes, I'd try reading another book from this author some time, but maybe not right now. :) (If I have it correctly this was the author's debut, so maybe her style improved and smoothed a bit...)

La Strega di Sale è un romanzo che, pur lasciandomi perplessa sul finale, mi ha profondamente colpita. Verso la conclusione, ho avuto l'impressione che la trama si disperdesse, come se l'autrice avesse voluto chiudere la storia in modo un po' frettoloso e superficiale. Tuttavia, nonostante questo aspetto, il libro mi ha conquistata molto più di quanto mi aspettassi.

Si tratta di un affascinante romanzo storico, ambientato in una cittadina religiosa tedesca del 1500, intriso di mistero e intrighi. La narrazione è così coinvolgente che mi sono ritrovata completamente immersa, un'esperienza che non provavo da tempo con un libro.

German Audiobook--I read the Kreidekreuz first and back-tracked to read this one. I liked the Kreidekreuz better, but it was nice to see where the characters came from.

Im Mittelpunkt der Handlung steht die junge Anne Katharina Vogelmann. Durch ihre grenzenlose Neugier, ihren Drang nach Wissen und ihr rebellisches Wesen wird sie in einen Strudel aus Gier, Hass, Betrug und Mord hineingezogen, der sie fast verschlingt. Aufgrund ständig neuer Ereignisse, die sich in der Stadt Hall, dem näheren Umfeld oder innerhalb der Familie Vogelmann abspielen, kommt der Leser nie zur Ruhe und wartet gespannt auf die Auflösung all der unglaublichen Fälle. Immer den Durchblick zu behalten, ist dabei jedoch nicht leicht, weil es außer dem Haupterzählstrang um Anne Katharina Vogelmann eine Reihe anderer Nebenstränge gibt.

This book is set in Medieval Germany, and it seems to be primarily about the lives of women, especially women who happen to get pregnant outside of marriage. I used to enjoy visiting the Foltermuseum (torture museum) in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, but I don't think I will be able to visit it anymore. I think I had a kind of "Monte Python and the Holy Grail" kind of sense of humor about what I saw there in the past, but now I have nothing but a Buddhist kind of deep compassion for anyone who suffered during those bleak days.

Für meinen Geschmack versucht die Autorin hier, zu viel in eine Geschichte zu packen. Da ist auf der einen Seite der Ansatz, möglichst viel historisch korrekten Hintergrund über die Vorgänge in der Stadt Hall zu liefern und das Siedehandwerk zu vermitteln, auf der anderen Seite gibt es die aufmüpfige Protagonistin, deren Welt ganz anders ist als sie scheint. In vielen Romanen dieser Art funktioniert das auch, aber hier hat es für mich leider nicht geklappt und ich fand die Geschichte sehr zäh.

Habe ich als Hörbuch gehört. Ich habe mit diesem Buch gehadert. Es war schwer, dem Plott zu folgen - für mich waren es zu viele Personen (und die meisten von ihnen nicht richtig herausgearbeitet), die Handlung ist hin und her gesprungen, ohne erkennbare Storyline, und der Erzählstil war … öde - meiner subjektiven Meinung nach. Warum ging es in dem Buch? Ich weiß es ehrlich gesagt nicht genau. Der Alltag im Leben der Vogelsang Familie in Schwäbisch Hall um 1510? Das mittelalterliche Leben allgemein? Eine Mordserie, die aber so versteckt war, dass ich es erst ganz am Ende des Buches verstanden habe, dass hier wirklich ein Mörder zugange war. Fazit: nicht mein Ding.

Es geht um die Familie Vogelmann, Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts. Der Roman ist keine Biografie, aber viele Personen sind historisch belegt.
Es geschieht ein Mord und die Tochter Anna Katharina geht dem Ganzen nach. Es geschehen noch mehrere Morde und am Schluss gibt es eine interessante Wendung.

Gut gefallen habe mir die detaillierten Schilderungen - ich konnte mir die Stadt und die Personen richtig gut vorstellen und fühlte mich richtig ins Mittelalter versetzt. Von der Handlung her wurde es aber erst auf den letzten 20-30 Seiten spannend.

Ich mochte die Protagonistin und ihre Emanzipation. Allerdings war das Buch für mich am Ende ziemlich wirr und am Ende haben natürlich alle auf magische Art und Weise überlebt. Und die Aussprache und die Aufdeckung/ Aufklärung/ Folgen fehlten

Πολλη θρησκοληψια, περισσοτερος σκοταδισμος, παρα πολλοι θανατοι, δηλητηρια, δημοσιες εκτελεσεις, κυνηγι μαγισσων και αλλα πολλα και ανατριχιαστικα. Σαν μεσαιωνικη ταινια τρομου ήταν.

Un romanzo storico che muove da fatti realmente accaduti e che è una valida testimonianza della Germania del XVI secolo. Un buon mix tra storia e thriller.

Η Άνε Καταρίνα μέλος της αστικής οικογένειας των Φόγκελμαν ειναι στο περιθώριο λογω του φύλου της. Παρολαυτα θα παιξει σημαντικο ρολο στην αποκαλυψη ολων των δολοπλοκιων και των δεινων που θα εμφανιστουν στην πολη. Πνεύμα ελευθερο, φιλική και έξυπνη θα αποκαλυψει τον δολοφονο και τον μυστικο ερωτα που δημιουργήθηκε απο τη μάγισσα του Χαλ.
Μαγισσες, ματζουνια, ιντρικες, προκαταλήψεις, απανθρωπες ποινες για μηδαμινα αδικηματα, μπουντρουμια και μονομαχίες, θα μαγεψουν τους λατρεις του Μεσαίωνα.
Με κουρασαν λιγο τα ονόματα, καθως και οι περιγραφες για τα αλατουργεια και γενικοτερα για το πως λειτουργει η οικονομια. Αναγκαίο κακο βεβαια, για να κατανοησουμε το συστημα και τον τροπο ζωης εκεινων των χρονων.
