Ce personnage immortel parcourt depuis 1947 (44 ans !) l'histoire de l'ouest américain. Il y a rencontré des personnages célèbres (Jesse James, Calamity Jane, Billy the Kid, Sarah Bernhardt...). Lucky Luke est l'homme des missions impossibles, le défenseur des pauvres, des veuves et des orphelins, bref le parfait héros ! Son cheval, Jolly Jumper, est un parfait compagnon de ce "poor lonesome cowboy". Les frères Dalton se dressent perpétuellement sur le chemin de Lucky Luke ce qui permet à ce dernier de les poursuivre continuellement et de les confier à la justice. Autre personnage traditionnel de la série : Rantanplan, le chien le plus bête du farwest qui a vécut de façon autonome 2 albums. Lucky Luke est, avec Astérix et Tintin, le plus célèbre personnage de l'histoire de la BD : cette série, accessible à tous, est devenu un mythe grâce à Morris et Goscinny. Ce personnage a fait l'essentiel de sa formidable carrière dans les pages de SPIROU, PILOTE et LE JOURNAL DE LUCKY LUKE. Une exploitation merchandising et audiovisuelle (dont aux États-Unis) a permis d'introduire Lucky Luke auprès d'une très large couche de la population et auprès de plusieurs générations de lecteurs. A noter qu'après la disparition de Goscinny, plusieurs scénaristes ont travaillé sur la série : Vicq, De Groot, Fauche et Léturgie, Lodewijk, Lo Hartog Van Banda et Vidal. L'essentiel des albums se trouvent chez Dupuis et Dargaud., la nouveauté chez Lucky Productions.

About the author

The Belgian author Morris (full name Maurice de Bevere) is best known for his humorous cowboy character, Lucky Luke. Morris started his career in 1945 in Le Moustique, creating various covers and illustrations. By the end of the 1940s, Morris met his colleagues Jijé, Franquin and Will. These four artists would be called "The Gang of 4", because they all worked in Jijé's studio at that time. The first episode of Lucky Luke, 'Arizona 1880', was published in L'Almanach Spirou 1947, and was later continued in Spirou. In his early 'Lucky Luke' comics, Morris was greatly inspired by animated cartoons à la Disney.
In 1949, Jijé took Morris and Franquin to the US, where Morris met Jack Davis and Harvey Kurtzman, whom he helped with their plans for Mad Magazine. He also met René Goscinny in the US. In 1955, Morris returned to Europe and collaborated with René Goscinny on 'Lucky Luke'. Goscinny wrote the scenarios of over 35 stories, which led to the great success of the series.

FUN & EASY GOING!

This one is a collection of 7 short Lucky Luke adventures. Each one with a couple of twists to keep you hooked. The stories are by different authors like VICQ, GOSCINNY, DOM DOMI, LODEWIJK and DE GROOT. Each brings a sense of fun adventure in the wild west cowboy tales in their own style. I liked settling of scores the best. One of the stories has the notorious Dalton brothers where they try to rob trains which I am sure the hard core fans would love. The only story that was without meat was "The word of God." Thankfully it was the shortest with just 4 pages. All the other stories were fun and bring back the nostalgia of childhood.

Recommended for cowboys of all ages!

Πωπω, τα διάφορα racial στερεότυπα μοιάζουν τόσο «από άλλη εποχή», αλλά το χιούμορ που γίνεται με αυτά είναι με τέτοιο τρόπο που είναι δύσκολο να πιστέψει κανείς ότι οι δημιουργοί ήταν ρατσιστές ή κάτι τέτοιο.
