This is book 2 in the Cinebook sequence.
It was good, but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as The Bluecoats #01 : Robertsonville Prison. A bit more somber in tone, this one deals with what appears to be actual events in the Civil War, and specifically Naval skirmishes. I'm not American, so my Civil War knowledge is a bit rusty. Anyway, it's a pretty good series so far, and one I'll continue reading.

Album qui comme le veut désormais la tradition commence par une bataille, à laquelle Blutch trouve le moyen d'échapper avec sa désormais légendaire lâcherie débrouillarde :)
"Dans des trucs pareils, il n'y a vraiment que les gars comme moi qui survivent !...ouais... lâches, peut-être, mais encore assez vivants pour s'en rendre compte !"
C'est le retour du capitaine Stark, qui sera à présent un personnage récurrent, et ce qui avait été un simple gag répétitif dans le tome 2 devient son trait de personnalité principal : le fait que Stark soit obsédé par les charges de cavalerie, que les albums s'ouvrent sur lui qui hurle "chargez" et qu'il méprise tout être n'étant pas à cheval. En revanche, le fait que ce caractère soit montré comme une forme de folie maniaque arrivera plus tard dans la série (Stark est un personnage que j'aime beaucoup).
Après les camps de prisonniers, c'est maintenant la marine qu'on visite, le scénario trouvant le moyen rigolo d'y expédier Blutch et Chesterfield, après qu'ils aient été virés successivement de la cavalerie, l'infanterie, l'artillerie et les brancardiers.
On assiste ici, après un chouette tour d'horizon des différents types de bateaux de l'époque, au premier (authentique) combat entre navires cuirassés.

This famous bande dessinée series depicts two North (Union) soldiers during the American Civil War. Sergeant Cornelius Chesterfield is a devoted soldier always willing to do his duty, whilst Corporal Blutch is willing to go against authority in his own quest to escape the war alive. In this particular album, a series of mishaps leads the duo from the cavalry, to the infantry, then to artillery, and finally the Navy, where they participate in the battle between the ironclad warships Monitor and Merrimac (a scene based on real historical events).
Blutch is very much the comic relief of the album, and you can't help his creativity as he conspires to avoid a terrible fate. His friendship with Cornelius is also very apparent, even if the Segreant is trying to punch his lights out every two seconds for ruining everything once again. And whilst the album remains ultimately kid-friendly, helped by its charming art style, there are moments that highlights how brutal war can be.

(PT) Bultch e Chesterfield, depois de andarem a vaguear pela infantaria e artilharia, acabam na Marinha, onde colaboram com o bloqueio unionista e lidaram com a ameaça do couraçado "Merrimac", terror dos barcos de madeira.
"Os Azuis na Marinha" de Raoul Cauvin, é uma série onde se conta os sarilhos de dois soldados, Bultch e Chesterfield, o primeiro a tentar fugir das balas da cavalaria do capitão Stark, mas num ambiente totalmente diferente, como é o da Marinha, que durante a Guerra Civil tinha como função o de bloqueio das forças sulistas. E inadvertidamente, fazem parte do primeiro combate no mundo ente dois couraçados, que terminou... num empate.
A história é bem contada, e é feito de modo humorado, mesmo de algo que é terrível como a guerra, e pior: a Guerra Civil Americana, que durou quatro anos e matou quase um milhão de soldados.

This is another funny episode in this series of comics. Clutch is still trying to escape the military and Chesterfield, the sergeant, is still the 'good soldier'. This story concerns their failure in various branches of the military, as they change from the cavalry and are kicked out into the infantry where the screw up, get kicked out into the medical core and so on.
It's a hilarious story as they foul up once and again, going from place to place only to have the same type of thing repeat. It's a totally enjoyable humorous story.

This is extraordinary. This is more history than comic, though the comic elements are predominant involving story.
The story is a continuation of the series of the two ner-do wells shuffling from one aspact to another during the American Civil War. The hijinks are rather mild, but the illustrated choreography is, as in the others in the series, outstanding. This project had a LOT of time invest in it.
Where this entry excels if the line of naval ships used by both sides depicted. The drawings of each are excellent and the inclusion of the story is very well done. Great effort of research. So many ways the artists coulda cheated artistically.
A great piece!
Bottom line, I recomend this book. 10 out of ten points.

Que a dupla constituída pelo cabo Blutch e pelo sargento Chesterfield é insuportável, já tínhamos percebido nas histórias anteriores. Que fossem tão insuportáveis que acabassem sucessivamente transferidos de unidade em unidade é que não esperávamos.
Na marinha os dois têm o privilégio de assistir e de se envolverem nas primeiras batalhas contra o USS Monitor, o primeiro navio couraçado, um género de submarino que destroçava qualquer navio inimigo. Terror dos mares, irá defrontar o CSS Virgina numa batalha que se tornará épica.
Aproveitando a picardia existente entre as várias unidades (cavalaria, infantaria, artilharia e marinha) bem como o relacionamento dos dois personagens, a história move-se de componente em componente da batalha, concedendo uma perspectiva cómica em tornos dos factos históricos que apresenta.
Leve e divertido, este terceiro volume volta a cumprir a função de, numa pequena história, relaxar e entreter, apesar do contexto que aqui é muito aliviado pela forma como se apresenta.

Encore un très bon album. Blutch et Chesterfield sont baladés de corps d'armées en corps d'armées, avant d'être finalement incorporés dans la marine où ils enchaînent les déboires avec une constance qui fait plaisir à voir.
