I love Miranda and Parker!
Pros:
Miranda and Parker are wonderful characters and the series is superb!
Lisey Lanier is a master storyteller!
I enjoy books set in another country! While I don't know the areas mentioned and places, I'm exposed to another culture! I also think readers in the UK, or New Zealand or wherever must enjoy having a story close to home!
Miranda's growth over the previous 6 books is uplifting! While she is still prickly, stubborn, inpulsive and hates to be subservient; she is also intuitive, gifted, strong, tough and showing some compassion for others!
The antiquities angle was fascinating and the plotline wascomplex and well layered!
Mild spoilers!
Cons:
I feel violated by the author, she cannot simply change normative qualities ingrained in the characters! Behaviors and personalities honed over 6 plus books can't be dismissed without breaking tust with the reader!
Parker is never Reckless
Leaving Miranda in the dark (to protect her) always turns out poorly!
Miranda will always rush into the fray, so it's impossible to "protect" her by deciet!
Parker would not walk into a trap without a plan andneve be caught unawares!
Miranda finding Parker is a given, not suspenseful!
Miranda may be more kindhearted but is not mpathetic sympathetic especially to people she does not like! While she secretly has a good heart, she could never feel for so many people, may of whom caused their own misery!

Good thriller - a must read
When I first began this book, I wasn't sure this would be as good as the last ones. I was wrong. It was definitely a good mystery and held my attention.
Parker and Miranda are headed to England. An old friend of Parker's dad is the head of a museum and a priceless Egyptian dagger used by Marc Anthony was stolen.
In an effort to protect Miranda, Parker makes a foolish judgement call . To find out what it was , you have to read this book.
Lindsey Lanier is a master story teller. One thing that bothered me nothing was ever said how the police handled Davinia's part in all this.
Can't wait to find out who keeps texting Miranda " I know where you are?" On to the next book!

Obviously a British hating author.
I only got to 17% and gave up. The careless research on British life and institutions was mindbogglingly awful. We haven't had London fogs since the 50's. Where did they get their Met police ranks from. How an American can criticise our chocolate bars beggars belief. Where did they get m'um from? And the list goes on. Quite frankly it's lazy writing.

Annoying
I did not care for this book. A priceless artifact is stolen from a British museum. The curator hires a married couple from the US to investigate, much to the chagrin of Scotland Yard.
This book reads like a cozy mystery. I figured it out early on. It is annoying and repetitious. The reader is constantly reminded of how handsome, rich and debonair Parker is and how his wife , the fiery Miranda aggravates , excites and arouses him. Gag.

Good
I've read better by me Lanier. I'm not a fan of mysteries set in London. I doubt the police there would so easily ask for outside assistance. Again editing failures. Errors get in my way of enjoying the experience.

Heart Wounds
I love the way Ms. Lanier maps out her book so I don’t get lost trying to keep up with the storyline. I thought Wade. must be an angel to put up with some of Mirandas attitudes. But he just knew how to control himself better. So far Heart Wounds is my favorite of the series. Again, the use of the F Bomb was too much for me. I do understand why it’s used only in certain parts. But I can’t help but wish it weren’t used at all.
That being said, I still recommend this book and the compete series to anyone who likes d tective novels with sometimes twists and turns.

Fantastic read. Miranda and Parker are private investigators and married. Miranda does not like to be second in command in any case. Parker takes the lead on this case - find out who took the Marc Anthony dagger. She puts them in danger more than once and does not realize what effect it has on Parker. To keep her safe he goes on his own and almost gets killed. She finally realizes that they need to work together as a team so that they can keep each other from harms way. I thought I had figured out who had taken the dagger but the end was a real shocker. Never saw that coming.

If one is going to write a story set in a country that is not one's own, one really ought to check that the information used is accurate.
This was one of the worst-researched novels I have ever read - and I read a lot!
Metropolitan Police ranks that don't even exist (or in any other Police Force in the UK); a part-time Inspector placed in charge of a high-profile case; and the Royal Family (not just of England!) "interfering"! Rubbish - and I served with the former Strathclyde Police Force!
This was the first of this author's publications that I have read. It is also the last! The only "saving grace" was that she does not take recourse to foul and blasphemous language. Otherwise there would only have been two stars!

Wow what a harrowing ending!!!!
This is the 2nd time I've read this in a week. I knew who the killer was and culprit but it was still exciting to read again by taking my time to read it slower than I did the first time. I love the passion and intensity in their lovemaking but it irks me that after their agreement Miranda still didn't come clean with the texts. I've read the next book also but I'm going to enjoy it again

Wonderful series
I'm really enjoying these series of books. I joined kindle unlimited and was quite skeptical that I would like it, but here I am ordering the next book in your series and looking forward to the next adventure! I love the ongoing back story of Miranda and Parker's evolution into a true partnership. Yes they have glitches, but in the end they learn and grow. Each new cad they take on is full of fun twists and turns and hard to put down some times! Well done.

The author tries to pull in many angles to this mystery. She sets up several possible villains, and there was plenty of guilt to go around. The most guilty are found and taken care of in true Parker and Steele style. The less guilty still suffer, perhaps even worse over a lifetime.
The reader unfortunately will still have questions about details unsaid and not obvious. Still it was a good read.

Starting from scratch is hard!
Great read. Miranda & Parker have their hands full when they leave the US to help a friend in Great Britain. Miranda not familiar with the customs and needing to learn a bit offers up an unusual turn of events. It seems that the position of Parker's friend Sir Neville position gets in the way of investigation of the dagger. Real mystery to get solved.

I really enjoyed this book. I love the main character's and how their relationship is growing despite all the chaos. I loved the plot and how they solved it. The author is wonderful and has a way of letting you feel the story as if you were there. I will be reading more of this series and from this author.

Once again Linsey Lanier wrote a great book. I am so in love with Miranda and Parker. They work so well together solving the mysteries. The ending was a surprise because it was not the person I thought who stole the item.

Power of Big Ben
Sorry Big Ben doesn’t have anything to do with this story line except, to dong every now and then in it. This story kept me guessing. I thought I knew who the bad guy or gal was more than once and I was wrong. I love when a story does that.

Excitement in the Museum
Traveling to London sounds like a nice, but boring special case for one of Parker's old friends. An ancient dagger disappears and must be recovered. This adventure turns out to be anything but boring.

Fantastic Read.
She through in so many different clues that you were led in in circles. First you went in direction thinking you had solved it.Then, you realise you were way off

I'm really frustrated with the hero and heroine. They keep saying they will do better then they do the same thing. It's beyond annoying. Other than that, this one was really interesting, and I enjoyed the story a lot.

I enjoyed the book immensely especially since there is little to no cursing. I’m no prude but cursing and f bombs every other word is not necessary to make a book good. I’m off to read the next in the series. Clowns and Cowboys.

A fast-paced read!

Another great mystery
A lot of twists and turns (as in Book 1).
I have enjoyed getting to know Miranda and Parker’s story more and the different characters. It kept me guessing until the very end!
