Errant in Iberia

I did nothing but dream about moving to Spain until another minute in London threatened to push me over the edge! Turning up in Madrid without a word of Spanish, I soon found a job, alluring intercambios, amazing journeys and wild fiestas. Then I met Marina, bought a scarily run-down flat in Lavapies, and got in with the in-laws! If I can do it, couldn't you?

a good foreginer-in-another-land story. If you have ever lived abroad Ben´s adventures will sound VERY familiar, no matter what country it is. It was also cool to get the backstory on Ben and Marina after listening to the excellent Notes in Spanish podcast for so long.

A fun, light travel story that inspires you to get up and go. A great picture of Spain and the challenges living and working in a different culture. A fun read for anyone with itchy feet.

Entertaining read, laugh out loud at times. Shows the 'real' Spain well.

A great travel book which evokes images of stunning Spanish landscapes and lively city bars. Especially interesting for a fellow Brit who did a stint working in the Spanish capital. The edition I read had a few concerning spelling errors - you start to wonder whether Ben's Spanish is actually better than his English - but it doesn't detract from the adventure. A brilliant read which whisks you from the start to the end in no time at all.

An entertaining read about a British photographer who failed to gain fame and fortune in London, launching an impetuous trip to Madrid. Spoiler alert: he still lives there.

Lighthearted look at moving to Spain - but with far too many spelling mistakes for comfort
