Over ten years ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.
Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says, I am a runner. I do, therefore I am.
I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes…writing.
I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!
My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!
I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly…but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.
I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.
So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do…now I’m going to tell you the why.
I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race, it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.
In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell…all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.

Unforgettable Sun (Hale Brothers #3) by Kathryn Andrews
4.5 stars!!
To say that I have loved this series would be a severe understatement, I love it when I take a chance on a new author and they deliver. When I read the first book in this series I fell in love with Kathryn Andrews’ writing and three books later, I am still in love. All of these books have been emotional reads but I always knew that Matty’s book was going to be hard. Drew’s book killed me, Beau’s book damn near destroyed me and Matty’s is no different.
Matty Hale was always the quiet one, he hardly spoke, kept himself hidden and away from everybody. He had an incredible bond with his brother Beau and he would be the only one that Matty would open up for. I often wondered why Matty was the way he was, there had to be more to it than met the eye and knowing what kind of life Drew and Beau had endured you just knew that it wasn’t going to be pretty.
Abuse does not have to be physical, I think that mental abuse is often worse as the long term effects can be permanent and far more damaging and what Matty went through at the hands of his father was inexcusable. The head of the Hale family has been on my hit list for two books already and my opinion of him hasn’t changed in this book, I am just glad that he is not in their life anymore and his reign of torture is finally over for all of them.
Matty Hale, the young man that carries a wealth of burdens on his shoulders, family secrets that eat away at him daily and that are so bad they give him constant nightmares. A child having done and seen things no child should ever be exposed to all at the hands of a man who should have had his best interests at heart, a man who should have loved and nurtured him but a man who in fact used him as a means to an end. He was the bastard child, a result of an affair and something that his “dad” would never let him forget.
Matty had his escape mechanisms and I am so glad that he found the one friendship he did, a couple that took him under their wing and had a huge influence in the wonderful man that Matty was to become. While they had managed to set him on his way in life, they could do nothing for the guilt and self loathing that Matty carried.
However, there is a new girl in town, a girl escaping her own demons and a girl that Matty once shared a Summer with. Even though not many words were shared the fact that Matty never turned her away was a huge accomplishment in itself. Now their paths are to cross again, will she be the one to get Matty to open up and realise that what he shoulders is not his fault, will Matty be able to finally forgive and forget and live the life that he was destined to?
Elle Summers is a super model with a multitude of problems, none more so than a stalker that is invading her thoughts and property at any given opportunity and an overbearing mother that is using her daughter to climb the social ladders and uses her daughter for fame and fortune under the guise of being her manager. When the stalker situation reaches a scary head, Elle scurries away to the only place she had ever felt safe a place where she hoped that no-one would ever find her, she goes to her Aunts on the Island.
Unforgettable Sun is one emotional read, you cannot help but be moved by Matty’s story and the fact that what he shoulders has a huge impact for all the Hale brothers. But this is a book about letting go of the past and living for the future. A story about finding love when you least expect it and letting yourself believe that you can be loved and you can love in return. We have two people both running, one from the past and one from the present, but together these two can run a marathon, they just have to let each other in.
This was a fantastic read, one that I couldn’t put down. Once again another Hale brother has left me emotionally distraught but also with that feeling of hope. Children are more resilient than we think and I was so glad that Matty had the inner strength and the support of others to make him realise that he was an amazing person. He was a wonderful character who had a heart of gold and after reading his story it was hard to believe that he didn’t carry more permanent scars.
Once again an amazing read from Kathryn Andrews, this is one of my all time favourite series and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you haven’t met the Hale brothers you seriously need to.

You know when you've finished a book that was truly special and will stay with you for an eternity, because you've been glued to the same spot, reading away for hours. When you do finally close the book, those hours melt and feel like seconds, and you wonder if you should just start reading it all over again. To say that I loved this book would be an understatement. The story is engaging, the characters are beautiful and the book is a perfect finale to what is a fantastic series. Kathryn Andrews is a magician, and her words are her magic. Really, who doesn't want a little magic in their lives. 5 spellbinding stars.

Ahhh.. this book.. How amazing.. I can say I laughed and cried reading this one.. What a great story to put together about these brothers and what a lovely way to end it.. I'm having a hard time finding words to make this review makes sense.. But I truly enjoyed this series.. One that I'll defiantly buy on paper back.. because it's something I need to have.. So I can re-read it again and again.. So worth the wait! Looking forward to more books from the author!

This was the story for my soul. Matt and Elle were both trapped in lonely life dictated by others . Matt as unwanted child and Elle as a ticket to glorious life to her mother.
Broken,emotionally unable to open they found each other and fall in love.
I loved how family always takes care for Matt even if he thinks that is unworthy to be loved and after the big secret got out ,he is still "Little Dude". After Olivia ,I was thriled to see how outstanding Elle became and how she put her self in the first place.
The whole trilogy of Hale brothers was emocionally and heartbreaking read but to me was also a view of how you can stand up and fight for your life,love and family.
Absolute amazing trip!

I knew Matt's story was going to be emotional. The quiet boy who carries the weight of the world on his young shoulders is harbouring a lot of pain and many hidden secrets. He was always different, the boy who longed to belong, while watching his Brothers endure the violent wrath and hatred of their Father, as they fought to protect him, the baby of the family, the bastard son who was a mistake. Unwanted. Ignored.
Behind the quiet and distant exterior, Matt is now a man making the best of things on the Island he calls home, but it's not until a beautiful face from Summers past comes stumbling back into his life that Matt has to face, head on, his biggest fear of all... opening up to the possibilities of something more. Keeping his distance and a lid on the past just got complicated, when for the first time he has the desire to let someone in.
Elle Summers is a supermodel with a huge problem. Well... make that three. Matthew Hale is such a complex character, with so many demons you can't help but still feel angry at the injustices of what he, Drew and Beau were subjected to by their deranged Father. Whereas Drew and Beau were older and closer in age, Matt always felt alone. The only one who really protected him was Beau, and even then he was still a child himself.
Matt has secrets about their Father, something so big, that it could destroy everything, and the guilt is eating him up inside. This is where the real angsty emotion kicks in because Matt has such a sweet soul, and you just want to hold him. Whereas his Brothers are strong and have taken real strides in overcoming their past horrors, Matt hasn't. He holds that weight, and denies himself freedom. Choosing to stay numb.
Elle may be a successful supermodel but her smile for the camera is fake. Deep within lies a tumult of loneliness and despair. She is sick of living in the shadow of her jealous attention-seeking Mother and just wants go back to basics, and find herself.
This is where Elle and Matt really work. They come together when both least expect it but need it the most. Watching them succumb and open up was a beautiful thing to behold. To watch them dance around together in fear and uncertainty but in perfect synchronised harmony is the only way I can describe it. Unforgettable Sun took my breath away and robbed me of my heart. I am in irrevocable love with this series, and the Hale Brothers, but Matt just took this princess' crown.
Follow the sun, feel the warm air on your skin, let it in, and it will set you free.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series
When Matt's book finally came out I was excited
Out of the Hale brother's Matt was the one that I knew nothing about until reading his book... Beau and Drew's stories are strongly mixed together and Matt was just the younger brother in the story.
The book begins with a flash back and then you meet Elle... Elle is a model who is going through a rough patch in her life... her mother is a monster and she is dealing with something that scares her... so she leaves and finds herself at her aunts door step... In the beginning she is weak and a slave to what she has been taught... a prisoner in her fear.. dealing with health issues... oneday she slams into Matt..
Matt is a loner... who keeps to himself... you get to know what he has been going through.. he is so sad its heartbreaking... he loves his brothers but because they are older... and left him at a young age.. he has dealt with a lot of things alone... but he is still such a good guy... I just wanted to reach out and hug him so many times...
Matt and Elle.. relationship..
HEART BREAKING
These two are two broken souls that find each other and need each other but don't know how to be with each other... Matt.. a few times brought tears to my eyes.. the weight he has been baring at his age I couldn't imagine... but Elle snuck into his heart giving him hope..

I am finding it hard to put into words how I feel about this book.. I tend to get attached to characters.. and their stories.. we become friends n my mind... so when a series can capture me and keep me attached in all the books and then ends.. I feel like the friendship is over...
Matt and Elle's story was so well written... it mad me happy... sad... cry... heart skippin beats.. you name it.. it was an emotional roller coaster... I loved it... LOVED IT... I am sad to see these brothers go... but I loved the happy endings...

This was an enjoyable read.
It was good to see how Matt turned out, and the relationship between him and his brothers was nice.
I liked Elle, and I felt really sorry for her for what she was going through.
This was another good read in the series, which had a few twists that I didn't see coming.
Will definately be reading more from this author in the future.

po prostu tak strasznie mi żal Mattiego... i jej tez. ten chlopakow ojciec od pierwszego tomu zasluguje na wpieprz taki ze głowa boli. ale tutaj przeszdl samego siebie. to samo dotyczy jej przeciez i jej toksycznej psychicznej matki. szczerze mowiac stawialam na kochanka Mamusi roku... no nic. nastepna bardzo smutna ksiazka ze szczesliwym zakonczeniem. piekna.

You know that bittersweet moment when one of your favorite series’ ends? It’s wrapped up in a gorgeous little package, with all of the t’s crossed and i’s dotted, but your heart still hurts? That’s me tonight. I’m not ready to let the Hale Brothers go. I. Just. Can’t. Do it! As far as conclusions to a series go though, Unforgettable Sun was top of the line. It was emotional in the best and worst (not bad, just a bit painful) sort of ways, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Andrews absolutely did not disappoint.
I couldn’t wait to start Matt’s story. You fall in love with his character in the previous books, because he was so young and went through so much in his short years. Unforgettable Sun fast-forwards over time a bit, and you’ll see him as an utterly broken man. It’s heartbreaking, and you’ll feel for him from the get go. If there’s one thing above all else that Kathryn Andrews is amazing at (there are PLENTY of others though. She’s a rock star), her ability to make you not only connect, but truly love her characters is it. You feel Matt’s pain, isolation, and internal conflict. You’re there with him as he tries to make the right decisions, and you’ll feel it from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Although most of the emotion will be right in your heart – demolishing it, mending it, and feeling the outpouring of love from Elle. I love that Andrews doesn’t place an easy, plain heroine with Matt. Elle has her own issues and secrets, but she also feels…out of sort. Not in the right place. Unhappy with life. However you want to say it, but you see what I mean. Seeing these two sort their individual problems, with no shortage of hesitation and frustration but with the support and love of one another is hopeful and so very beautiful. I just fell in love with these two together, as well as apart. They go through many trying times, but handle it exactly as you’d hope they would.
As always, Andrews is so classy, so eloquent, and her writing is flawless. In each story, she brings something new to the table but it always has that Kathryn feel. Unforgettable Sun is no different. She’s so great at telling a story in a way that blends emotion, humor, and passion perfectly. She doesn’t need an abundance of cuss words or overly detailed sex scenes. She can suck you in and leave you biting your nails from just the emotion on the pages.
And and and…we get to see Drew and Beau! Especially Beau. *Insert happy dance here!* Ah, my sweet, romantic Hale Brothers. I just love them so. You really dive much deeper into what Matt and Beau’s relationship specifically entails. They really make for the most wonderful family, and their love and acceptance of one another shines through.
Overall, as sad as it makes me for it to be over, it ended perfectly. It all comes full circle, and questions that you may have had from book one or two will be answered. It’s a whirlwind romance that will take your breath away. I’m so in love with Matt, Elle, and the entire family, and can’t wait to see parts of their lives popping up in future books. I’m just not ready to let go. Good thing books can always be reread, so the Hale Brothers are here to stay. Whew.

5 Huge and Heart warming stars for Unforgettable Sun, the third book in the Hale Brothers series, by Kathryn Andrews!
I fell in love with Kathryn's writing when my friend, Stephanie, asked me to read and review her debut novel, Drops of Rain. That love only increased with the 2nd book, Starless Nights along with this final installment.
Matt is the youngest of the Hale brothers, and his story is one of despair as well as inspiration. Matt has carried a horrible secret for most of his life, and that secret has led him to believe that he only deserves a life of loneliness and desperation. However, this all changes when Elle Summers makes a reappearance in his life. How best to describe Elle? She is simply beautiful. She possesses both inner and outer beauty. Elle has been used and criticized by her mother for years. When she finally reaches her breaking point, Elle returns to the only place she has ever felt at peace, her aunt's home on Anna Maria Island, Florida. As a child, she thought Matt Hale was cute, but when she sees him years later, she realizes what an incredibly handsome and sexy man he has become. She and Matt share an instant attraction, and after spending some time together, that attraction turns to love. Do they automatically find their happily ever after? Heck No!! **On a side note, this book touched me in a special way. You see Elle has an illness, and with each new symptom that was revealed, she sounded more and more like me. Imagine my surprise when it is finally revealed that Elle suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis! I have lived with this terrible disease for over ten years now, and with the way Kathryn described not only the symptoms but some of the medications that are used to treat it as well, it is obvious that she either knows someone who suffers from this disease or she did a heck of a lot of research on it! Thank you, Kathryn, for shedding some much needed light on a disease that few people understand. :)

I am an ending person. That’s my favorite part of a book because I love that end result. It’s honestly why I love reading series so much, because if I get a phenomenal ending, an ending that just leaves me breathless and so totally in love with what I’ve just experienced, it makes me love that series and that ending book even more.
Unforgettable Sun was an extraordinary ending to The Hale Brothers Series by Kathryn Andrews. I don’t think I could’ve asked for anything better, and while I am so sad this series is ending, I could not have asked for a more perfect book to close out this series of unforgettable books.
This last book and Matt and Elle’s story just reiterated once again why I love this outstanding series, and why it is assuredly one of my all-time favorites. Each book that I’ve read in this series has completely blown me away with the level of emotion and feeling that flows from the page, the extraordinary characters I met that I won’t ever forget, and their thoughtfully developed stories that pulled me in every single time I read them.
Matt and Elle’s story in Unforgettable Sun is simply unforgettable. I’ve been dying to get my hands on Matt’s story since I met him in Drops of Rain, and I was completely enamored by him in this book. Then to top it all off I got Elle’s character, and she is just one of the most authentic and endearing characters I think I’ve had the chance to read.
I adored them both, and reading their story and experiencing all that they go through was nothing short of amazing.
Matt’s character has always intrigued me, so I was beyond ready to get into his head and learn more about him. I was just enraptured by him throughout this entire book. Knowing his thoughts and feelings, and experiencing what he’d been through just made me care for and love his character more. It also broke my heart at times to read that darkness he faced, and reading his struggle made me want to reach in and make it better for him. But seeing how Matt handled that struggle, how he attempted to overcome it and fight through it just made him so remarkable to read.
Elle was a character that I just instantly connected to. She felt so real to me, and Kathryn Andrews creates her in such a way that just makes her come to life. Elle just screamed authenticity, and I found her character to be so relatable and easy to love. I also could not get enough of how strong she was, because like Matt she faces some pretty heavy things, but through it all she gives it her all to be exactly who she wants to be. I just loved how Elle faced and persevered through everything, and there was just such a vibrant beauty to her both inside and out.
Matt and Elle have a serious connection that sparks off of the page, and you will feel that the instant they meet. That connection builds and grows immensely over the course of their story, and it just heightens and solidifies everything they are feeling and experiencing together. You will feel the enormity and pull of their connection when you read their story. It will pull you in like a moth to a flame, and there’s no way you won’t feel that amazing and spark filled connection they share.
Both of these characters have past and present darkness that they’re facing, but getting to know Matt’s past and what was haunting him just left me speechless. I had always wanted to know what was haunting Matt, and what led him to being the way that he was. What he goes through and what he had to experience just hurt my heart and made me so angry for him because of what he faced day in and day out. Reading Matt expose his past, being that vulnerable, and then in turn actually attempting to overcome it just left me in awe of him, and when you find out all he’s gone through I guarantee you’ll feel the exact same way.
There is so much wondrous fight in this book. Matt is fighting the darkness from his past that haunts him every day. Elle is fighting the negativity that surrounds and permeates her world, while also fighting against a very real kind of danger. Matt is also fighting against the feelings he just knows to be true, and Elle is fighting to help him realize that what they’re feeling, what they could have is something exceptional. Something unforgettable. Reading all that fight just demonstrates the shear tenacity of these characters, and that determination just defines this book and them in the most amazing way.
I love me some Hale Brothers. A lot. I’ve loved every book in this series because I’ve loved each of those brothers for the dynamic and distinctive people they are. Unforgettable Sun really just illuminates the depth of love these brothers have for one another. Those boys stole my little heart, and I think each of them are always going to have a little piece of it because they’re just that spectacular and heart melting. They really are the best and this book gives you another little fabulous taste of them all.
Kathryn Andrews knows how to create a story with so many varied and thoughtfully crafted emotions and feelings. They flow throughout each of her books, and just make them the magnificent things that they are. When I read Matt and Elle’s story I not only had the chance to step into their dynamic heads, I got to feel and experience and live everything they were. You feel their heartbreak, their pain, and their hurt. You also feel all their vulnerability, but you also get to experience their hope and fight and just all the amazing things that make them who they are. Having that kind of a connection and the chance to experience what they do with that level of emotion was extraordinary, and it just made me connect to Matt and Elle even more because of their fantastically layered and emotional story.
This book is all about being free. Being free of the past and the darkness it entails, free of other people and expectations, and just being free to be who you are. Being free to follow that sun, that light, and that happiness. Matt and Elle are both seeking that feeling of freeness, and the journey you go on with them as they push to be free is nothing short of wonderful. Kathryn Andrews adds that theme of being free into this story in such meaningful and beautiful ways, and I promise you are going to be enthralled by their journey and fight to be free.
Now I’m not telling you how this book ends, but just know that the ending for this book, for this series was everything I wanted and needed it to be and more. 5 UNFORGETTABLE STARS
Wow, just wow… Kathryn Andrews you really blew me away with this beautiful story and ending to this fabulous series. You not only create beautiful, heartwarming stories, but you create characters and lives that we want to be a part of. Everything about this series is so real. It felt so real to me. You impressed me from Drops of Rain, Starless Nights and now Unforgettable Sun.
Every detail of this family is untold in the final book of the Hale Brothers Series. I’m really sad to see this series end. I really felt like I was a part of these people’s lives. Kathryn’s writing style is so beautiful, real and honest, that her characters are like your best friends.
I laughed; I cried and loved my way through this whole series. Matt, especially has a soft spot in my heart.
Matt Hale is one complex hero with many inner demons to deal with. Always the loner, always the one who felt left out and didn’t belong. The quiet one and the one hardest on himself for all he has been through. He wants to forget his past but it keeps haunting him. He is surrounded by his own darkness until he understands what it means to “Follow the Sun”.
Elle Summers is a super model and she is struggling with more than one thing in her life – It all seems a little fake. She wants to be herself, but feels that she can’t - until her relationship with Matt develops. What a beautiful, complex, scared young woman she is – just trying to live her life the way she wants to. Not the way her mother wants it. Are there too many obstacles in her way? Can she really move on?
With so much going on in Elle’s life, she just needs to get away. But will it help her heal? Will she be able to start over?
There are a lot of secrets that come to the surface and the drama unfolds one piece at a time.

Elle and Matt have this chemistry and bond that is there from the moment of their first kiss. OMG the feels in this book. Kathryn Andrews, you have a way of making me feel things for your characters.
This love story is not one simple ride. It has it fair share of bumps. It is trying and scary for both of them with everything they have going on. Truths are revealed, drama unfolds and all the things you wondered about from DoR and SN come to light as well as Elle’s story.
This story was so emotional for me. Matt was so emotional. I felt for him and what he had to deal with from his past. My heart broke for him – it ached for him, but it also cheered for him when he realizes that he is better than his past.
“I like it when you smile,” I say to him.
“Well, that’s what happens when I kiss you. Can’t help it. Want more smiles? Keep the kisses coming.”
He is such a beautiful, torn up soul. He just needs to believe that he can be loved. Elle shows him this – it is with some resistance, but they get there. This is what I love so much about Kathryn’s writing. How she brings her characters together.
It was breathtaking – this story – these characters, just beautiful.

Book 3 in the very brilliant Hale Brothers series. Although each book focuses on one brothers journey, it is important to read the series in order.
Elle Summers's is at the top of her game. An in demand Supermodel, she should be enjoying the life she leads in New York City. When letters start arriving, threatening her life, she starts to question her choices, the relationship she has with her pushy mom and whether this is her true calling in life. Controlled by those around her. WOW, I love this series and both Drops of Rain and Starless Nights featured in my best books of 2014. However, let me tell you now that Kathryn Andrews really has saved the best till last in my opinion.
This book is the culmination of the desperately sad story arc that has woven throughout each book. Each Hale brother has been effected by the rain of terror that was their childhood. Drew and Beau have managed to battle their demons and find their way out of the darkness that held them back, but I always knew though that the biggest battle would be Matt's. The deep psychological damage that was done at an early age has imprinted his soul, and the guilt and secrets he carries are a heavy burden for him to carry. Elle awakens feelings that he doesn't recognise. She fills a hole in his heart that he was resigned to except as his life. In turn he gives her a strength and fight that she didn't know she was capable of. It is a beautiful journey to read and has a breathtaking sincerity about it.
Both Drew and Beau will always hold a special place in my heart but Matt absolutely stole it. He is without doubt one of favourite characters EVER! The depth of character, the light and shade and the spirit that Kathryn Andrews has given him will grip you. The atmosphere that she has created for all the Hale brothers is tangible. Making this series one of the most emotional breathtaking reads you will ever pick up.

So with a heavy heart, I bid the Hales a farewell. This is one of my favourite series EVER! If I had to pick my favourite book of the 3 it would definitely this one. It is a breathtaking, but above all else, it is without doubt - unforgettable!

In Drops Of Rain we fell in love with Drew and Ali. We felt their pain and heartaches they suffered, and rooted them on. Then in Starless Nights we learned more of Beau's story and found out when you think life is bad, sometimes it's even worse than you can imagine. We watched Beau and Leila overcome incomprehensible obstacles with more courage than I could have ever imagined. Drew and Beau set an incredibly high bar for Matt. I thought to myself, there's no way I am going to love Matt as much as I love Drew and Beau. I was proved to be completely wrong.
Even though Matt grew up in the same household as Drew and Beau, he has his own special set of problems. He carries a dark secret that is eating away at him. I could feel Matt's despair and hopelessness throughout the story. After all Matt has been through you can understand why he pushes people away. Then Elle comes into the picture. Elle is a beautiful character, inside and out. I felt myself getting so angry for her, over the way people treated her. When Matt and Elle's paths cross, you want nothing more than for these two to find healing together.
Matt and Elle's story was the perfect way to end this series. Their love story isn't an easy one. They must overcome many fears and tear down walls in order to find their way to each other. I loved this story! I can honestly say that Matt Hale is my favorite of the Hale brothers. Matty's story is quite special. Your heart breaks for him, but it's such a beautiful story that held me captive until the end. Of course we know about Matt from the prior 2 books in this series, but we don't know much. He's the quiet shy boy. We experienced Beau and Drew's emotional stories, but I had no clue really what to expect from Matt's story.
Matt's story is one of growth, healing and forgiveness. To discover all that this young man had to shoulder as a boy was heartbreaking. He witnessed and experienced things no child should have to observe. In Unforgettable Son, this quiet boy, is now a young man. He continues to be quiet, and you feel a sense of loneliness and truly a broken man. I wanted to know his story and struggles, but most of all I wanted this man to be healed.
Elle Summers is a successful supermodel. Her life appears perfect on the outside along with her flawless appearance. But life is not how it appears. Elle is struggling with just being herself and not the fake person everyone loves. Elle escapes her model life and a possible stalker by renting a place on the beach.
Matt and Elle's paths cross which brings up old memories of an encounter they had when they were younger. I loved how Kathryn Andrews intertwined these two young troubled lives. Matt is living with past secrets that continually haunt him. Elle is a scared young woman, living a life orchestrated by others, including a crazy mother. While both are trying to get rid of the darkness in their lives, they find light in each other.
The storytelling in Unforgettable Sun is amazing. It's emotionally charged and pushes all the right buttons to make you feel. You not only get complete insight into Matt, but also a full connection to Elle. The chemistry between Matt and Elle fuels this story. The passion between the two brings out a sexiness in Matt that I never saw coming, but I loved! It's beautifully written, touching and definitely an unforgettable read.

5 Perfect Pizza Ending Stars
It was the perfect ending to a great series. I've been trying to put this review together for 2 weeks and I've started so many books that I can't complete. If there's anything you need to know about me is when it comes to the last book of the series... I won't read it! I just don't like ending. I wanted to keep this story going for just a little more!!! In this book I laughed at Beau's comments.(Seriously the Hair fact one I have told so many of my friends!!) Cried at Matt's and Elle's story.
Matt's book was a lot different than his brothers. Drew's and Beau's books were intermixed with each others. Matt had Beau at times but since he was the younger brother with an age difference you didn't see them as much but there are enough updates to keep me interested. His charater is quite and a loner oppisite from his brothers.
Elle is not your typical supermodel and that alone made me fall her!
Kathryn you blew my mind away with this series! Loved how he his HEA came together. The pizza ending was the best part. On a big note I am so sad to these brothers go. I hope to see them in Davy's book.

Matt always felt alone; felt he didn’t belong, his demons ate away at him daily. When Elle finds her way into his heart can he finally let go of those demons and move on? Will Matt help Elle to over come her own demons?
Kathryn Andrews truly blew me away with Matt’s story. Unforgettable Sun is a captivating, emotional read that pulls at your heart strings. I could feel the agonising pain Matt and Elle were going through as they fought to keep the world from knowing their secrets. The connection and passion these two shared was apparent from the moment they reunite. We also get a glimpse into the life of Beau and Leila as husband and wife, I loved my Beau fix! As much as I’m going to miss the Hale brothers Kathryn Andrews did not disappoint with Matt’s story.
If you have loved the Hale Brother series, so far, you won’t want to miss Matt’s story. If you’re a fan of emotional contemporary romances with suspense and humour you will absolutely love the Hale Brother Series.

This was a series of 3 books about 3 bothers. Each book shared a story about one of the brothers and their perspective of their upbringing and the abuse they endured and how it carried over to their young adult life. Good reads. Made me laugh and cry. ❤️

Unforgettable Sun is the third and final book in the Hale Brothers series by Kathryn Andrews. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading all three books in order if you can. Not only are these books fantastic, but I think that they really help to introduce the characters and build the story as the series continues. I have to say that since I first started this series, I have always been curious about Matt. He was always the quiet younger brother that you could tell had so much going on beneath the surface. I felt like with Drew and Beau we sort of knew what was happening, but with Matt it was pretty much a mystery. I was so excited to get to know him better, and I could not have loved him more.
Matt Hale has always been the quiet loner type. With his brothers several years older and not having any friends he has always felt as though he was on the outside looking in. Knowing that college wasn't right for him, he has become successful at buying and fixing up properties and makes his money by renting them out. When a girl kisses him out of the blue, he is shocked about the instant calm he feels and the connection he can see between them. But after finding out who she is, he realizes that not only does he know her but that he doesn't want anything to do with her after something that happened years before. He can't fight what he is feeling though, and soon he finds himself giving in to his curiosity and decides to get to know her for who she is now. Elle has been in the public life for years as a model, but she always felt as though she was living someone else's dream. Elle finds herself turning to her aunt for a place to hide out for awhile. Elle has secrets that she doesn't want getting out, but she soon realizes that Matt does as well. Though they have a connection and are beginning to develop feelings for one another, they both begin to wonder if it is better to keep things hidden knowing that sooner or later Elle will return to her normal life.
I really liked Matt. I felt so badly for him and all that he had gone through alone. I didn't have a clue what he had been through, and it seriously made my heart break for him. I cannot even imagine having to face what he did alone, and the strength it took to be that kind of person amazed me. He truly believed that he didn't deserve happiness and that no one could love him, and I was so glad that Elle was able to show him that wasn't the case. She never gave up on him, and she loved him for who he was flaws and all. Elle was going through her own set of issues and although she was hiding herself away, I never felt like she was a weak person. She might not have handled things the best, but it would be hard in her shoes to be able to trust anyone. Both Elle and Matt had so much bad luck when it came to their parents. It was no wonder that they both had issues and insecurities. But I loved that their chemistry and attraction had such a strong connection behind it. These two were able to understand each other in ways that others didn't, and they were exactly what the other needed.
Overall, I really loved this book. It was such a beautiful and emotional story, and it really brought out all the feels. This series is fantastic, and I honestly have loved every bit of it. These characters are so real and their stories instantly draw you in. I felt so invested in each of these characters and their HEAs that I just couldn't put these books down. I have to say that I have a bit of a soft spot when it comes to Matt because of all that he had gone through, but it is honestly hard to really pick a favorite. Trust me when I tell you that these books are definitely worth the read, and I think romance readers will fall just as hard for the Hale brothers as I have. These characters will always stick with me, and I know that I will reread their books again in the future. I am honestly excited to see what Kathryn Andrews comes up with next! Though I will miss these characters and this series, I am looking forward to reading whatever she writes next.

Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. I have been hooked on Kathryn's novels from the first time I found her. They are all encompassing. You get the romance, the angst, the thrill of the chase, and the plot that leaves you on your toes the entire time.
I was SO excited to finally be getting Matt's story. I have waited a LONG time for this and I knew that his one was going to be a doozy. With each novel in this series you think these brothers can't possibly be hurt any more than they already were, but that isn't true. With each story, more secrets and more hurt come to the surface as each brother battles his demons. Matt most certainly has demons and it is time he faced them.
Carrying the secret that haunts him from his childhood had made Matt believe that he deserves nothing good. When Elle comes back into his life everything changes. Running from her own demons, Elle goes back to where it all began to try to find some safety. To find peace. Instead, she finds Matt. From there things only get more complicated.
Love sometimes works in fickle ways. For Matt and Elle it works in the ways of facing the past, and giving themselves a chance for the future. This is hands down, the best novel in the series. It was an emotional roller coaster that I fell in love with from the first chapter. Kathryn stuns in the writing and shines with this story.

Oh, Matt. I've been waiting for your story, and it was perfect! I feel like we've known you for years yet you were such a mystery. Quiet and sad, I wondered if you would ever heal.
This book starts a little over 5 years after Starless Nights. Matt is 21 and owns rental properties and renovates homes on Anna Maria Island. Beau and Leila have moved back to the island from NYC. Matt continued to be close with his Aunt Ella who helps him manage his rental properties. He's content with his quiet life with his dog and one friend. He also keeps many secrets that he feels will destroy his relationship with his aunt and his brother.
Elle "Ellie" Summers is a model who needs a break and a place to hide from a stalker. She ends up on Anna Maria Island, staying in one of Matt's cottages, through Aunt Ella who is her real aunt. She used to spend summers with Aunt Ella and knew Matt when they were kids. She is now a famous fashion model with a demanding, mooching mother and a step-sister/best friend who run her career. She is hiding some secrets of her own when she arrives on the island.
Matt and Ellie run in to each other a few times and end up forming a friendship that eventually moves beyond friends. Matt is so secretive and constantly shuts Ellie down even when she opens up to him. He's got so many secrets that he feels he needs to keep that it is keeping him from living. Ellie, however, is not willing to give up on Matt.
Will Matt ever feel worthy of love even if he tells his family his secrets? Will the people most important to him be able to forgive?
This is a must-read series! I love Kathryn's writing and fell in love with these characters in Drops of Rain and continued in Starless Nights. Matt has always been one of the most complex, lovable characters in the series. I'm so glad to finally know his story!

This book starts a little over 5 years after Starless Nights. Matt is 21 and owns rental properties and renovates homes on Anna Maria Island. Beau and Leila have moved back to the island from NYC. Matt continued to be close with his Aunt Ella who helps him manage his rental properties. He's content with his quiet life with his dog and one friend. He also keeps many secrets that he feels will destroy his relationship with his aunt and his brother.
Elle "Ellie" Summers is a model who needs a break and a place to hide from a stalker. She ends up on Anna Maria Island, staying in one of Matt's cottages, through Aunt Ella who is her real aunt. She used to spend summers with Aunt Ella and knew Matt when they were kids. She is now a famous fashion model with a demanding, mooching mother and a step-sister/best friend who run her career. She is hiding some secrets of her own when she arrives on the island.
Matt and Ellie run in to each other a few times and end up forming a friendship that eventually moves beyond friends. Matt is so secretive and constantly shuts Ellie down even when she opens up to him. He's got so many secrets that he feels he needs to keep that it is keeping him from living. Ellie, however, is not willing to give up on Matt.
Will Matt ever feel worthy of love even if he tells his family his secrets? Will the people most important to him be able to forgive?
This is a must-read series! I love Kathryn's writing and fell in love with these characters in Drops of Rain and continued in Starless Nights. Matt has always been one of the most complex, lovable characters in the series. I'm so glad to finally know his story!

Unforgettable Sun by Kathryn Andrews
So finally, after shovelling my way through a very lonng TBR list, finally I got the chance to sit down and read the Hale Brothers Series and, seriously?...WOW!
I wanted to email Kathryn Andrews after the first 30 pages, book one was sooo flippin good.
Drew & Ali's story was just ....sigh..gorgeous & I couldn't wait to find out what Beau & Leila's story was. And again.....sigh. By the time I started book 3 I was giddy with anticipation.
Matty the gorgeously shy, quiet and mysterious baby brother is perhaps my fave of all the brothers!
Oh how my heart ached for this beautiful boy and what he endured growing up at the hands of his cruel father. But when Elle Summers arrives in the picture, he is forced to stop running from his demons and admit that he is capable of loving and being loved. He tries so hard to run from the pull he feels towards Elle but fate has other plans, with many serendipitous events pushing them together.
Elle has arrived in his beautiful seaside town in a bid to drop out of society and escape her own demons but instead she finds herself completely taken by Matt. I loved watching Matt go from shy and withdrawn to fiercely protective and loving.
This book has so many layers, twists and turns that I did not expect. It has everything! Angst, joy, suspense and steam!!
The characters are multidimensional and totally loveable.
I cant wait to read more from this very talented writer!

This series just kept getting better and better. Unforgettable Sun was my favorite book in the Hale Brother series. This series was so beautifully written.
Every story touched you and made you cry and touched you in a different way.
This story was Matty's. The youngest Hale Brother who just maybe the most emotionally scared brother out of the 3.
Matty saw things in his family that no child should see. He grew up with an abusive father. He found out
family secrets that would almost destroy him. Because of all the secrets and lies, Matty has lived
a life mostly alone. He has his brother, but no real friends or girlfriends. It is sad the self exile
he has sentenced himself to.
Elle Summer is a supermodel on the run. She has decided to go to the only real home she knows to
hide and deal with everything that has become her life. She is no longer happy on the path she has taken.
Running to the only real family family she has ever know, she know she can find peace on the island.
Elle ad Matty have crossed paths in their younger days. Now, as adults they are crossing paths again.

This is the 3rd book in the Hale Brothers series, Matt Hale was the silent pained one throughout the other 2 books. He was much younger than Drew and Beau his older brothers. I never understood why he was the way he was, the mystery of Matt had me beyond excited for his story. But I will say this, this book exceeded ALL my expectations. It had me engrossed from the beginning didn't want to put it down.
Ellie has her own demons and despite the reputation of being a great Model she is struggling with her life. A chance encounter with tall, dark and handsome Matt could be exactly what she needs.
Matt holds his secrets close but so does Ellie how can you move toward when the past is still so much part of your present? I can't say much cause you need to experience this beautiful story without spoilers.
This book had me laughing, crying and feeling emotions as I read them, as if in the story, which makes it so much more personal. It moved me to be speechless and that doesn't happen to me ever. Thank you beyond words Kathryn Andrews your words astound me. Your genius leaves me speechless but most all I'm beyond proud to be allowed to read such beautiful stories you've created.

What an ending to a series that will stay with me forever!

Have you ever listened to Colbie Caillot's song, 'Try'? I feel like this song represents Elle through and through.
Sometimes, in trying to please everyone else, we lose ourselves.
We forget to love ourselves for who we are.
We forget that there is a purpose for us that is more than materialistic, it is skin deep.
Sometimes, though, it takes losing yourself and letting go to find what you've been missing.

Such simple words with such a deep meaning.
Matt has always been the loner, the quiet one and the one hardest on himself for all that he has seen and been through.
He is surrounded by a darkness that is seen in his stormy eyes.
Truths are revealed and chaotic events unfold in this book....things that you have wondered will come to the light and I hope you are in awe as I was!
This series is an emotional roller coaster and being able to get an insight to each brother...and watch them find their happily ever after has been amazing!
I recommend to anyone and everyone who loves a happily ever after with a lot of bumps along the way!

Unforgettable Sun is the third and final book in the Hale Brothers Series. This was such a bittersweet read for me; I was so excited to read Matt's story but I'm so sad to see the series come to end. This was such an emotional story.
Matt is the youngest brother and has never been shown love by anyone except for his Aunt Ella. He has always been the quiet and shy one. He was emotional and mentally abuse by their father. He has never had a girlfriend and never been interested in dating. Then he has a chance run in with Elle and everything changes. Elle has her own set of problems. She is living her mother's dream but not her own as a model in New York and has a stalker. So she decides to slip off the grid to recharge. After all is said and done and all the secrets are revealed will their relationship be able to survive?
As always Ms Andrews writing is impeccable. The characters are easy to connect with, I feel like I have become friends with the Hale's. Matt's story is so emotional. I felt so sorry for all that he had to endure going up. Elle is a sweet girl. She is also emotionally put down by her controlling mother all the time. This is an amazing series; I highly recommend it to everyone! Ms Andrews has become one of my favorite new authors and I look forward to her next release.

I have to be honest and say that when I got to the very last word of this book I had tears streaming down my face. I fell in love with Drew the oldest Hale Brother in book 1 and then I fell head over heels in love with Beau in book 2 but after reading Unforgettable Sun I now know who the go to brother is. Is it even possible to love three brothers at once...well yes it is and it is all Kathryn Andrews fault too!
This book blew me away because I feel like I watched these guys grow up and then I was shocked because things were happening right under my nose and I didn't even see any of it coming. That is why Kathryn is an amazing author.
She will give you love, romance, drama, lies, betrayal, and so much more in her books. The Hales Brother's series is her baby and you can tell it too by every word she wrote. I hope that she can have just 5 more books...ok at least 1 more book in this series because I am not ready to put them on my shelf just yet.

I am a huge fan of Kathryn Andrews. HUGE! I have read all the books in this series and I truly believe her writing just gets better and better. In the Hale Brothers series the older brothers have always stood out. Matt, the youngest, was always in the background with a few mentions here and there. Matt was a mystery and I just knew his story would be a good one and I was right! Elle was the perfect companion to truly understand Matt and give him the kind of love he so desperately needed. Kathryn did a great job at creating two characters that carry so much guilt, sadness and are aching for love but feel unworthy. The first time these two kiss.....such an awesome scene. I loved it! The love story between Matt and Elle is beautiful with just the right amount of suspense. My heart ached for these two to finally get the love, and peace, they both deserved. As I have read the books in this series I always think, "THIS is my favorite brother" and then I read the next book and am proven wrong. I have decided that they will just all share the title of favorite. Drew, Beau and Matt are all uniquely different, gorgeous and unfailingly devoted to the women that have stole their hearts. The women in their lives are just as unique with incredible stories that you will love.
