Images of the 20th Century
1980s: Images of the 20th Century
Decades of the 20th Century. Photographs from the Getty collection. Fascinating photographs put images of the power of an event or the zaniness of new trends right before the viewers' eyes. The force of war and political conflict is just as important a theme as world-shaking innovations in science and technology. These are accompanied by portraits of great personalities in art, politics, and society.

Photographic retrospective of the 1980, which although featuring a lot of great photography, I feel would have worked a lot with more iconic imagery. In a world of web and digital, maybe the age of photography books is over for the likes of me. The book does have captions under each and every photo, which is nice. 5 out of 12.

The excess of the 1980s is captured in this.

This is a great book to have if you're at all interested in the 1980s. Being photographic, it lacks the biased representation of facts so prevalent in many other "factual" volumes on this decade. Some major events and fads are missing... but then it was a very eventful decade, so there obviously wasn't space for everything!

This series of small, thick bricks of books is entirely photographic. You get the flavour of the times without the waffle!
