This is one of the best books around for starting or continuing emergency prep, short term, and long term food storage. Lots of research has been done so you don't have to. I have taken many of the recommendations and found them to be sound. It is a large format paperback with good illustrations and a fun graphic design. Some good charts for which type of food (canned, dehydrated, freeze-dried) is best and most economical. Gives clear guidance on what to store and how much and resources for where to find what you want/need. Great recipes showing how to use food storage in every day situations and not have it all just sit in your basement. Highly recommend.

This book is so useful. I literally couldn’t stop myself from exclaiming aloud all the surprises! I’ve been building my food storage for 10 years and really thought I’d heard it all but this book gives informative and useful tips.

If you’ve thought of starting food storage or 72 hours kits, this is the best book to have. Or if you’ve got your food storage but have questions on how to use it or shelf life or substitutes, they’ve got you covered here.

Seriously the best book I’ve purchased in a long time!

I have a ton of food storage books. This is the first one that I can whole heartedly recommend for everyone. This book is informative, easy to follow, well organized and full of useful facts, charts, and product information. The charts alone will save your life in planning and information. I loved that she gives you recommendations but then tells you why, and unlike other books, isn't pushing one brand over another. She does have recommendations but other books are geared like a giant advertisement.

If you've been studying food storage for a while this book is worth adding to your library because of the tested and well researched information.

If you new to food storage this is the best book I've ever seen for beginners. You will have everything you need to get started and understand what you storing and why your storing.

There are sections on 72 hour kits, the next two weeks (stabilization phase), 90 day supply (also k own as the rainy day pack up), and long term. There are charts, nutrition information, special sections on special topics like are grains actually bad? And canned vs dehydrated vs freeze dried. There's a recipe section (small but easy to use, and appetizing), very small gardening and canning primer. You will need a separate gardening book and canning book if you are serious about the issue but photos will get you started hang help you visualize the process.

There are also lots of notes for gluten free. Very helpful.

Amazing reference. I'll be buying this one.

Happy Reading :)

This book is excellent! I'm LDS and have always had interest in food storage. I check this book out from my local library and it is packed with so much good information that I'm going to have to just buy it so I can highlight things in it. The book grabs your attention and holds it. It's colorful, and it's organized!
