Mail Order Husband Michael

Rate this book
A Clean Western Historical Romance.

Gwen worked in the late 19th century at a hotel in Boston as the head cook. She enjoyed her work and the friendship with her close friend Alice, but felt an emptiness about her future. Someone at work left open on the table an ad circled about a man out west seeking a bride. Despite Gwen's skepticism, she wrote to him and discovered that they had much in common.

Michael was a Montana banker who was raising his daughter alone since his wife's death. He was honest with Gwen during their correspondence that he had lost the true love of his life and she could not be replaced. After spending some time together, Gwen agreed to marry this kind man. But, did she really anticipate his inability to love again would be more than temporary? Could she find happiness with family life despite his inability to return her love for him?

This is a 26,000 word novella that can be read independently, but is also book one in the series. Mail Order Husband Jacob is book two. Each book is a clean romance without a cliffhanger. If you belong to Kindle Unlimited or Amazon Prime you can read these books for free and each is enjoyable as an independent novella showing the courage and bravery of those seeking true happiness.

This was kind of a backwards mail order bride book. This is about Michael, a widow with a young daughter who is looking for a wife. But he is still in love with his dead wife. He lives in Montana. Gwen lives in Boston as a chef in a hotel and dreams of having her own family. They start by writing letters and then he comes to Boston to meet her. She goes back with him to Colorado.
The book is sweet, positive, there is nothing negative about it. If you need a little lift, this book will give it to you. Loveable characters that made it easy to forget about everyday life while sharing their trials and tribulations. Thouroughly enjoyed it.

Nice Story

This story takes place in 1888 and could have really benefited from a world keeper. The Heroine mentioned that she loves reading Ingalls Wilder... yet She was not published until 1932 The Hero at first says that his deceased wife was adventuresome but then says she'd rather stay home than go on outings. despite the errors it was a cute story.....

Loved this book. A clean romance. It is a little different from other Mail Order Brides’ books and that is why I gave it 5 stars.
