Books can be attributed to "Unknown" when the author or editor (as applicable) is not known and cannot be discovered. If at all possible, list at least one actual author or editor for a book instead of using "Unknown".
Books whose authorship is purposefully withheld should be attributed instead to Anonymous.
I'm loving my first semester of Arabic. This is the textbook we've started with, though the class is based more on the in-class work led by our amazing teacher. I don't think the book would be as helpful if it were used for self-study, without the guidance of a good teacher (and our teacher sometimes disagrees with the style of handwriting the book recommends). But as a supplement to the class, it's been a good way of learning the alif baa for the first time.
The online content is helpful, but it could really use a revamp; it looks very Web 1.0. Also, it hurts to pay the high price for the book and then have to pay an additional fee for online access (which expires after a period of time).
We'll be moving on to the next book in the series, الكتاب في تعلم العربية, now.
This was one of two assigned books for my first semester Arabic 101 course. Overall, I felt this book was perfectly structured for helping me to understand a language that 3 months ago I couldn't even pronounce, but now can write just about anything in.
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the companion DVD. I could not understand half what anyone was saying because they were speaking fast and not very clear. I ended up abandoning the DVD's oral lessons entirely about a month into the semester and focusing on just the book.
