Sheri Thompson knew better. She could spot a horn dog from a mile away, especially when she’d been warned about him countless times by her best friend. And then she woke up alone.
Divorced and determined to stay that way...

**One thing that bugs me about some ebooks (and even some printed) is the "added" pages in the book that are not the ACTUAL story. It's the added stuff: book lists, previews of previous/future books from authors. It's rather annoying when you spend money on a book and think you have more to go aaannnddd you don't. Divorced, Desperate, and Daring was done at 82%. 82%!!!!!!! That's a significant chunk of the book that is actually NOT the book. I want that 18% back!! That's almost 1/5 of the book!!!
okay... end rant.
Divorced, Desperate, and Daring is the six book in Christie Craig's Divorced and Desperate series. Each book is a standalone featuring a different couple with "cameos" from the previous couples.
Sheri Thompson has been warned about Detective Danny Henderson. He's the love'em and leave'em type. But at her best friends wedding, she gives in to her desire for him and has the best night of her life. A night of AMAZING sex and great conversation. She thought, maybe, something more could come of it, until she wakes up in their hotel room alone.
Now, six months later, Sheri is still trying to find the feeling she had that one night with Danny. And Danny is still kicking himself for walking out on what could of been the best thing that could of happened to him. He's tried apologizing and talking to Sheri, but she has avoided him like the plague. But when he hears that there has been a hit taken out on A Sheri Thompson, he is bound and determined to make sure it's not HIS Sheri. And if he can convince Sheri to give him another chance, all the better.
Divorced, Desperate, and Daring is a laugh out loud read about second chances and learning to trust.
Having been warned from the smooth talker, Danny Henderson, where does Sheri Thompson find herself? Waking up from an amazing night of sex with said rogue...alone. The best night of her life, in and out of bed, left her with heartache and questions she wanted answer to...and now.
Danny knew, immediately, that Sheri was the settling type and he could easily settle with her. And of course, that scared the bejesus out of him. So what does he do? Run...why not?! That fixes everything. But life comes back full circle when he is assigned a case that involves the very woman he has ran from. And even though he knows this could be dangerous for both of their hearts, he knows that he has to protect her at all costs.
This was by far my favorite read of the Divorced Series so far. Suspense is one of Ms. Craig's strong points and this book definitely builds it up! Watching the succession between the two, realizing that they were what each other needed, made this one of my tops. You definitely don't want to miss any of this series!
Christie Craig has been one of my go-to authors when I’m looking for a lighthearted read with plenty of humor and intrigue. Divorced, Desperate, and Daring is 5 in the Divorced and Desperate series. It’s a quick, lighthearted read that is filled with humor and intrigue.
Danny and Sheri have been dancing around one another for quite some time. Danny is the last man standing from the No Ball and No Chain Gang. Sheri has just broken things off with her fiancé, or rather, he broke things off with her. Neither Danny nor Sheri want another relationship. The best-laid plans……..
The entire Divorced and Desperate series is why Christie Craig is one of my go-to authors. If you want pure fun, entertainment and laughs check it out!
Sherri and Danny have been in love with each other for quite some time but fear has kept them apart for six months. When Danny finds out that someone has placed a hit on Sherri, his protective instincts come out and he decides it is his responsibility to watch after Sherri. Can the two work pat their fears and see the love that they have for each other to find their HEA?
Another great book in the series. Although, at times I did get annoyed with Sheri and her decisions. I felt like she didn't give Danny a chance to defend himself. She would just up and leave. And he had to do the chasing way too much for things he didn't even do wrong. Besides that, I really enjoyed the story!
I haven’t read any of the other books in this series yet but I wasn’t too thrilled with this book. I tried to get into it but I hated the main couple.. they just didn’t seem like they fit.
"Divorced, Desperate, and Daring" is written by Christie Craig, and it is the 5th book in her Divorced and Desperate series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Sheri Thompson and Danny Henderson.
Sheri and Danny had a one-night stand at their friends' wedding. And while it was the best one-night stand of their lives, and they laughed and talked that night, Danny got scared of his feelings for Sheri and left her. Sheri was hurt to find him gone the next morning, but Danny has always regretted that decision. He tried calling and texting her several times and also went to her home to apologize.
Fast forward 6 months. Danny, who is a detective, learns that someone by the name of Sheri Thompson could be the potential victim of a murder plot. Could it be his Sheri? He goes into protective mode to make sure she stays safe. Sheri doesn't understand why anyone would want to hurt her, much less want her dead. Even though it's not the best circumstances that brought them back together, Danny does see this as a second chance.
Will Sheri forgive Danny? Can he keep her safe? Who wants her dead?
Christie knows how to write a great story! It doesn't matter which book I've read of hers, but she always finds a way to add enough romance, suspense, and comedy to each of her stories. She's a wonderful writer, and like all her other books, I couldn't put this one down! Danny and Sheri were stubborn at times, but they cared and loved each about each other. You could see this as the story progressed. You also see Sheri's dog, Taco, who was so funny! And of course, we got to see characters from previous books in this series! Everything about this book was amazing! This is a must read!
Divorced, Desperate and Daring is a fun addition to the Christie Craig Divorced and Desperate series. The story revolves around Sheri and Danny. They are best friends of a wife and husband that just got married. There was great chemistry between Sheri and Danny from the moment they met. However, Sheri was engaged at the time and Danny had a reputation for being a love-em-and-leave type of guy. After the wedding of their friends (Sheri is no longer engaged), these two hook up. However due to misunderstandings and bad choices, Sheri shuts Danny out.
Sheri and Danny were both enjoyable and fun characters throughout the book. These two had great banter. The book had some great secondary characters. I really liked that Sheri and Chloe's (her best friend) friendship was important throughout the story and these two meant so much to each other. The author did a great job of denoting and showing the changes of a deep friendship once someone gets married.
I liked the pacing of the story though I do think the suspense / mystery aspect of the book grew a bit too much by the end. Also, I am not a great fan of the plot device of not communicating being the catalyst for a couple not being together. At times I did get frustrated that Sheri and Danny did not just tell each other things instead of internalizing. However, overall I thought the book was fun, sexy and enjoyable.
I always know what to expect when I start one of the books from Christie Craig's, Divorced and Desperate series: strong characters, wonderful romance, human and a delightful plot, and Divorced, Desperate and Daring held up to the reputation of the series. There is alway a bit of the unexpected to to make each book special. I adore all of the characters and love that we get to see some of them in each book. A misunderstanding turns a wonderful beginning into a one night stand but in spite of relationship fears these to are so drawn to each other that they will use any excuse to be together and they will use any excuse to run. Danny finds a great excuse to be close when one of his snitches tells him that someone tried to solicit a hit on "a Sheri Thompson". While the odds may be small that his Sheri is the one whose life is threatened, he is taking no chance.
Christie Craig is currently my favorite author! She is the master of laugh out loud scenes and over the top antics! Everything she writes makes me desperate for more. All of her characters are likeable (even when they're being morons), and her books always have super steamy sex scenes. This was one of my favorites in the Divorced and Desperate series featuring the No-Ball and Chain Gang. I thought Sheri and Danny were perfect for each other! Fun, quick read. Highly recommended!
4 stars for the story and the characters. 3 stars for the editing. I love Christie Craig and all of her characters. They make me smile. However, she really needs to get a better proofreader. There were a few glaring errors where the characters names were switched and some extra words were repeated. If a reader can see them then you would think a editor would too.
Reading this book I had feelings all over the place. From just enjoying a good book to happy to crying. I do get to say in the 11th hour as they say I figured out who the bad guy was. I liked the ending and I hope there will be another book with his cousin and good friend Ramon in it.
I hated finishing this book! I've read all the DDD books and this was my favorite so far. When I got to chapter 26 I didn't want it to end and actually dreaded picking it back up because I knew I'd finish it! Now...I'm ready for Ramon and Anna's story!
Delightful, suspenseful, and a sexy detective... what more can you ask for. Well except for a drooling English Mastiff. Well written and well edited. An overall enjoyable read.
Love these books. Sheri and Danny are great characters and of course we can not forget the dog. Love this series as much as the rest. Story was cute with a little mystery and the path to solve it was great.
I liked it , it was fun read ,light on the heart , yeah it was cool , so if you're looking for a sweet short with a hint of danger in a book , than this is for you ... Personally , I wish the danger was a bit , you know accurate , I don't like the heroine all that much ...
Well, other than being very poorly edited, which isn't a refection if the actual writing, this was another fun read. Good story, interesting characters, and an overall entertaining read.
