Missy & Chas are back with a new adventure! This is book 16 in the Frosted Love Cozy Mystery Series* After leaving Louisiana behind, Chas and Missy move to Florida and buy the memorable little bed and breakfast where they spent their honeymoon. But all is not well in the sunshine state. Strange disappearances and mysterious unexplained deaths begin to haunt the cozy little town until Detective Chas Beckett is called back into action to investigate. Meanwhile, Missy makes acquiantances with a widowed interior decorator not long after opening a tea room next to the bed and breakfast. Her story is almost as mystifying as the Detective's unsolved crimes. Are the two linked somehow?
Melissa "Missy" Gladstone and Chas Beckett decided to purchase The Beach House Bed & Breakfast in Calgon, Florida, where they spent their honeymoon. Missy plans to do some remodeling of the inn and hires Interior Designer, Carla Mayhew. They are also expanding the parking area and hire the contractor, Dirk Kepner, for the job.
Fortunately for Chas, there is an opening with the Calgon Police Department, due to the untimely death of the former Lead Detective, who died of a heart attack. During a discussion with the decorator, Missy learns that she is the widow of the late detective, Roger Mayhew. When Carla's son, Bradley, fails to come home following baseball practice, she is extremely worried. Missy learns that the house next door to the inn is for sale and she thinks about turning it into a tea room for locals and tourists. She also wants Carla to decorate it in an effort to take her mind off of her worries.
Police Chief, George Sanchez, demands that Chas devote all of his time to finding Bradley and seems very upset when little progress is made.
Where is Bradley? Was Roger's death due to natural causes or was he murdered? Why is the Chief so demanding? Can Chas unravel the clues to solve the mystery? Will Missy and Chas be happy in Calgon?
The change in scenery / location seems to bring new life to the series and Summer Prescott has done a fabulous job of introducing us to the new locale. This story will keep you guessing clear to the end with plenty of twists and turns.
This book was my favorite, thus far. Throughout this series I've tolerated Missy along with her constant crying by rolling my eyes and saying out loud "Again with the tears?" and moving forward; however, this is the book that made me come to love Missy.
If you've read all the books, you know how much Missy loves her shop and how important it is to her. She makes a not-so-simple gesture toward her employee Grayson that not only changes his life, but hers as well. Missy's decision changes the lives of many of the peoples in this series, for that matter.
Grayson: He ghosted through life, avoiding human contact, because in his world, human contact almost always meant physical or emotional pain, or both…until he’d met Missy, Ben, Cheryl and Chas, who became the family he’d never had.
The gift that is bestowed upon Grayson gave me goosebumps all down my body and tears came to my eyes. It showed exactly the kind of person Missy is. And the tears Missy cries in the next books don't bother me anymore (I'm currently on book 20)- the tears just show how sensitive of a soul Missy has and how much she cares for others.
A change happens for Missy and Chas and their life in LaChance will soon be just a memory.
This is a really fun little pick up from the last book. Though I didn't really like that the last book ended with a cliffhanger, but it worked well for this book. I enjoyed the beginning of the book where Chas and Missy were just living their lives without any murders. This book, Missy takes a back seat, however, we do get to follow Chas at work, which I really liked. It's a nice meld of cozy mystery and cop book.
There was a slight lack of consistency throughout the book. I noticed mistakes in the name of a character in the book, mainly the wrong last name. Also, the length of time between everything happening in the book. It just felt like it was on fast forward.
A move to Florida, buying a B&B there and renovating it sounds like an exciting move only it turns out to be much more than that. A teen is missing, the son of their interior decorator who recently lost her husband and suddenly their sweet small town they moved to isn't so sweet anymore. All the usual twists and turns topped by surprise after surprise and quite a few shocking ones at that with some of the friendly citizens being not so friendly after all. In the end Chas finds the murderers and brings this to justice at great personal risk with just one sweet surprise at the end. Great read.
It's a new beginning for Detective and Mrs Chas beckett in Florida as husband and wife. Chas and Missy but the B and B , and remodel a house for her new cupcake shop , a death has already occur ed and now a missing person that leads to someone's death. Time to solve it for Chas with miss ya help! A surprise in the very end!
What is happening Chas is being ordered by his boss to investigate hard into the case of the missing boy. Missy is not only renovating the inn but a cupcake place too!
I enjoyed this book. It has a different style from the last few books. I liked seeing Chas in action and for once nothing happened to Missy or her friends.
This was really exciting and I’m enjoying the plots and the characters. I can’t wait to read the next book. As always, thank you for a wonderful series.
Loved the book and the characters , big fan of the series. Why can you not use the word “pregnant”? They went from modern talk to, she’s in a delicate condition, she is in trouble, she is in the family way, I was waiting mrs Cleaver to come in and buy a cupcake.
Great story about awesome characters. I love these characters and feel like they are family. Looking forward to the next book to see what happens with them next.

This is the larest addition to the Frosted Love series. I ptobably say this every new book, but, this is my favorite one so far. Missy and Chas have gotten married and everything is going to drastically change. While on their honeymoon in Calgon, Florida, they learn the bed and breakfast is for sale. Missy decides she wants to go home early due to a death in the pool but that is just the begining. it seems like it is going to be sad as Missy's life, and Chas' too, are drastically changing. her best friend has gone back to California and the couple that manage the bakeries have moved away with their baby. Chas had gone ahead and bought the B and B knowing Missy would decide she wanted it so she decides to close one and gove Grayson the original bakery. thinking it's going to be quiet and slow paced in the small town they move to, is it any surprise when things don't go quite as smoothly as they expect? Of course there is a murder that turns into so much more. the characters are likable and the dialog is natural and smooth. it is a great story with plenty of twists and turns even though you may think you can predict what has happened. this book is full of surprises and was very enjoyable, I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment.
I was so happy to be back in the world of Missy and Chas. The scenery has changed as has the cast of characters but Missy and Chas have not. I love that Missy has a fierce sense of right and wrong and is incredibly loyal and determined to make things right for the people she cares about. Chas wants everything to be right in Missy's world and, even though he is extremely rich, having a purpose in life is very important to him. I'm so glad that Summer brought them back and I hope they don't go away again!
After a several month hiatus, I am really goad to see this series return! Missy and Chas have moved from Lousiana to Florida where they now own a B&B, Chas is working as a Detective, and Missy is working on opening a new tea and Cupcake shoppe. This time the mystery is about a missing teen whose father died suddenly of a heart attack just weeks prior to Missy and Chas's arrival. Chas is taking the place of the fallen father on the local police force. A good mystery and lots of new faces/characters to meet and learn to enjoy.

They take off for Florida and find an other B&B to buy. All new people to meet and the fun begins. Love this series, can be read in an hour then off to bed with a smile on your face. Summer keep writing love these books.
Although I had not read the rest of the books in this series, I was able to slide right into the characters personalities and the storyline of this series and loved it. A great cozy with kept me hooked from beginning to end. My only complaint..I wanted to keep reading but the end came too soon!
It has been a while since we have heard from these two characters but it was nice to have Missy and Chas back. I missed them. This is an easy cozy to curl up with on a quite afternoon. I'm ready for their next adventure.
I was completely shocked and disappointed with all the changes, but the author did an awesome job of keeping it all together and still enjoyable. I'm so happy for Chas and Missy
I really liked this book. The characters were interesting and there was a lot going on. It was a quick read too. I'll definitely read more of these books.
I thought I had read this one but I guess I didn't. It was well written and I like the new cast of characters. I love the new area and it was a great mystery.
