This book talks about the importance of taking care of your body to be healthy. It talks about the importance of eating healthy, lots of fruits and vegetables and a variety of healthy foods. It stresses playing outside to get vitamins from the sun and fresh air for a strong heart and lungs. Various types of exercise such as riding bikes, playing basketball and using a hula hoop are shown in the wonderful illustrations. The importance of keeping hydrated during exercise as well as using water to wash and keep clean are also mentioned. The final important point is getting enough rest and sleep to keep your mind and body sharp. All of these are told in an easy to read story with large colorful illustrations. At the back the book are questions, activities and a glossary to reinforce the concepts in the book. A great book when teaching about healthy living.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This picture book is great for kindergarteners. It can be used to teach students about how amazing our bodies really are. A great lesson to follow through after this book is to do yoga or a simple workout such as jumping jacks or pushups. It is also important to teach students about healthy eating habits and drinking lots of water throughout the day. The illustrator did a great job at creating a double-page spread to tell the story from page to page. The text is very informational and teaches the reader many healthy habits he or she can practice. Healthy foods such as avocados, corn, lemons, oranges, etc. to show the students different healthy options. I thought this book was also very inclusive because it had families of all different ethnicities. The illustrator also uses a full bleed so that the pictures meet all four corners of the pages. This book can help me as a future educator because I am able to use this book in my classroom to teach students about healthy habits.
How to keep your body Strong by taking good care of it.... by eating healthy, playing outside, getting exercise, keeping hydrated, keeping clean and getting enough rest.
