This book contains hundreds of predictions covering dates from now up to the year 2100, not only by Nostradamus himself, but by other great and famous mystics.
Francis X. King was an occult writer and editor who wrote about tarot, divination, witchcraft, magic, sex magic, tantra, and holistic medicine. He was a member of the Society of the Inner Light, an offshoot of the Alpha et Omega, which in turn was an offshoot of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
I first heard of Nostradamus when my mum told me that he had predicted the world would end that day and then she sent me off to school (thanks mum!).
The world didn't end and I hadn't given him much thought since. Then I started watching 'Reign' in which he appears as a character. In the show he is the court seer and very close to Catherine de Medici. So I was a bit more interested in finding out about the real Nostradamus by the time this book reached the top of my tbr list.
I started taking the prophecies with a pinch of salt as I think it's very easy to connect things to events after they have happened. I was also enjoying the history bits about his life and the events that were 'predicted'. By the way I'm very skeptical about these sorts of things.
Then I started reading about predictions which have not yet been fulfilled, now bearing in mind, this book was published in 1993. I hit the pages about Islam Resurgent & Islam's Holy Wars and there is a bit on this page about French people dying. It predicts a million but with what happened recently it just seemed abit spooky.
I also read with a morbid fascination about the predictions for our future, it looks like we are in for a grim old time!
Now lets just say that Nostradamus could see into the future, what if he accidentally saw a TV show or film and took that as fact? Would he have been able to separate our fiction from reality because he wouldn't have known those things were fake.
The last section of the book is dedicated to all the different ways you could try predicting the future. I had to force myself through this section as it just wasn't interesting to me at all.
Hello. I was read that book maybe a week. It's good book about thing's what happend and will happend in future. In some chapters that book show's satanism and occultism (if your imagination even though you are an adult corresponds to the child's mind - do not read these chapters). Book are for adult only because it tells about thing who young persons don't need to know because can lead to aggression and bad thinking. It's a good book but not for all people. If your mind not strong enough don't read it !
The various quatrains as depicted in the book are interesting. I like the way the author guides the reader through the various events of history that ties in with the quatrains. The various branches of potentially parallel time-lines are also interesting, if not fascinating. I suppose like anything, although by definition, these types of works couldn't be regarded as a science; if it could be regarded as that, I think it would be fair to appreciate it as - for lack of better words, an inexact science. It well worth a read.
Tuto knihu jsem obdržel v minulosti jako dárek na Vánoce. Bylo mi zhruba kolem 12 let. V současné době už knihu nemám doma.
