The Duke of Hayward, Grayson Dawkins needed a wife. And soon. His business partners required him to be 'secure' in their future endeavors before buying in. Reputed as a rake, he was having a difficult time procuring any kind of fiance. Greer Maxwell was daughter to the Viscount Sutherland, but Grayson didn't know it by looking at her. Her dress was threadbare, her shoes worn, and dirt smeared her cheek. Saving the disgruntled lass from an incident with his 'friend', he offers to secure her future with an offer of marriage. Presuming her to be the governess, he is astonished when she demands three tasks for him to complete before accepting.
A light-hearted romp with Grayson Dawkins, the Duke of Hayward, has to marry to satisfy his business partners. Finding Greer Maxwell, whom he mistakes for a governess, in the arms of Count Rutherford, causes him to offer a marriage of convenience. She will accept if he will do three tasks.
It was fun watching them maneuver around each other. She knows he is but he has no idea who he is propositioning. When he finds out the giggles ensued for me and then they both get caught.
There is a second story at the back of the book entitled Wanted by the Alpha Billionaire. Matthew is looking for someone who wants him for himself and not his money and position. He decides to become a customer of the dating service he founded. Through it he meets Monica, who is as into kink as he is, but when she discovers the truth, his problems are only beginning.
I enjoyed this story. I liked the characters and the sex is hot. The story needs better proofreading. It feels like a rough draft and not a finished piece.
I would have liked to see both stories longer because they were fun reads
I just loved the Duke of Hayward, and for him to find himself attracted to an unknown woman and to have her walk out without meeting her. But he had a business need that called for him to proposition another woman, Greer Maxwell, that same night.
He had bitten off more than he anticipated and it made for a wonderful story. I love a quick read that makes me smile and happy as this one did throughout. A Fun unexpected read. I just loved the tasks listed in the book and Hayward's response to the tasks.
I will not spoil any of the twists and turns, I can only say I could have read about these two for hours and hours
I was given a copy of this book on signing up to the author's newsletter.
I thought the title story was disappointing. There was no back story to explain what business the duke was involved in, why he had to have a wife, who were the people saying he should marry. The heroine's name, for a start, Greer, is not one I would ever have connected with the Regency. The usual mistakes in titles, a need for proper proofreading, too-modern vocabulary, ("klutz"? a "brownstone"?). The basic plot could have been an engaging one, but wasn't given the treatment it deserved.
And then the realisation that this story was only half of the book, and the second half was a totally inappropriate contemporary BDSM story.

I received a free copy from the author when I signed up for her newsletter and after reading the book I am so glad I did. The Duke of Hayward is a rake that didn't think he would marry for a long time. Then he meets Lady Greer Maxwell under a very unusual situation and finds his one true love. The story pulls you in from the start with a balance to keep you reading.
Loved the book!! Grayson needs to marry for the benefit of his business partners. He finds Greer in need of assistance and an idea awakens. He asks Greer to be his wife she will say yes but he needs to accomplish 3 tasks before she gives her YES!! He does not understand her reasoning. A lovely story with a great ending!!
Enchanting romance.I loved every moment of it. Storyline was fun, and saucy. The characters were well matched. The only drawback was the length,, as it was shorter than I usually read. It was still delightful
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Hayward is forced to get married by his business partners. He must choose someone soon. He offers a business deal to Greer to marry him. But will she agree?
This is a cute short romance with some twists and turns.
