If it hadn't been for this little volume, the SAWriters' Circle would still be sitting with a dud website! I didn't use any software to create www.sos.sawc.co.za (which has now left the air because our service provider 'killed' it), it was all done in Notepad with HTML code ... yes, it takes a long time, but at least I knew that all my readers could open it and see the necessary. Where this book really helped me, was when I got stuck (e.g. the table that I used for the "Judge's Reports" page). As for less complicated things, e.g. flashing text and linking arrows to other parts of a page that was already open, those I hunted down on the Internet.
As from now, the site will be created by software called "Joomla" and our new domain is SAWriters.org.za
This book has certainly got some interesting pointers if you are like me and not a complete beginner and also not an expert at website design. However it doesnt give you everything you need, but then I havent yet found a book which does. I have found it useful to read from a variety of books about web design. You always pick something up from each one.
