Rate this book
In which hearts rend and heads roll. Enchantress's prophecy strangles Angela and Sera from all sides when they are forced to ride to hell, and a few other realms too, for leather to the distant coast. In a haunted castle, a tormented witchbreed girl named Anna Maria, a.k.a. the 1602 Rogue, makes a deadly deal with a shocking price! Kieron and Frazer Irving bring to life the first tale Angela tells that is her very own...as the forces of Faerie close in!

The Secret Wars that reduced the original Marvel multiverse to a single patchwork planet, meant that there were a lot of crazy permutations. This issue alone surprised me with every page.Still, Angela and Sera's chemistry would remain the heart of this book.

It can't be emphasized enough that what made this a beautiful book are Stephanie Hans' illustrations. Her covers blur the distinction between commercial art and classical art. On the cover of this issue, her rendition of Rogue is beautifully eerie, it raised my goosebumps for sure.

Rogue made her appearance in the 1602 manner, as the Enchantress ensured that her prophecy would come to pass. But Serah had one last trick left on sleeve, and thus the twists kept on coming.

Great Read

The animation was great and cannot wait to see what happens to everyone next. It was all very well done.

One more to go. Bennett created an amazing fantasy world.

Angela and Lady Serah's adventure leads them to the last Faustus monster thing. Which is an alternate version of Rogue. Not much of a charater development for her, but it's good and her little backstory was great. What you'll really love though it's how Bennett changed the Marvel universe world into her own fantasy little fairy-land.. or better yet, faery-land.

Also, worth mentioning is the relationship between Angela and Serah, it's just great. The dialogue is keeping you interested until the end and the artwork, damn, the artwork is just beautiful. Hans and Sauvage do an amazing work, worth reading JUST for the art. A work that makes you stay longer on each page and wanting for more. Can't wait to see them both on an ongoing series in the future.

Finally we're one issue to go and the ending was great with a cliffhanger I didn't expect at all. Awesome magic stuff happening inside.

This ended just where we thought it would, and as they basically told us it would. And it worked for this particular story. It was also good to see Rogue in this story.

Weird that it went where it seemed like it was supposed to without some sort of swerve for the sake of a swerve. It was nice.
