Timeless Epic

I was surprised to find myself hooked on a book written in verse! There is a musicality to the story telling which enhances the depiction of events.

The author's own narrative of how they approached this telling of a true epic is interesting and you appreciate the book even more.

Having been already familiar with the Mahabharata, I found reading this created a new passion for the heroes and events I grew up hearing about. It takes you back to an epic moment in time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and I believe others will too.

THE GREAT EPIC BY MAHARSHI VEDAVYASA_"MAHABHARATA"

Author Romesh Dutt has taken great tlme and endurance to give 'nyaya' to the greatest achievement of expression the true events happened with, Mahabharata. It may be difficult to understand for those who do not know the story.

A bit dull, they merely fight and feast. It could be Asterix the Gaul. Quite disappointing because I was expecting something with insight and possibly even arcane knowledge. Now, my mistake was perhaps reading this edited version as the bits I would've preferred may have been left out. It is difficult to tell without reading the full poem but it's length did put me off and the translator's rationalisations for his choices and use of language, seem sensible.
