mmmm not sure how this story will pan out as there isnt a great flow - starts well but rushes to the finish. Too short to make a decent impact.

Badass - The Prequel Wow..Leslie Johnson let me just say I have a feeling this is going to be my favorite series of yours and this is only the prequel.
This novella is giving us the backstory of Link he was a troubled teen that came from a privileged family he ended up being forced to join the Army to get his life straightened out. I love this story first and foremost because I am an Army Wife so this story hits close to home for me and I love the fact that Leslie has decided to go there and write a story about the military and especially the Army!
We do learn quite a bit about Link in this novella he had a crush on this girl in high school named Mattie and he was had a one night stand with her but thats really all they ever had the opportunity for then he was shipped out to basic. This prequel gives you a good look at what he goes through and also gives you a great set up for what is coming next and if this is any indication based on the suspense and the action that we were put through here then as usual this is going to be one action packed drama filled series and I for one cannot wait for it to start!

The morning after the party, all the guys head to the cliffs to base jump one last time before everyone heads in different directions for the summer. One ill fated jump changes things forever. Given to me for an honest review. If you think of a privileged obnoxious male, that would be Link Duffy. He drinks beer, takes drugs, and has sex with every female in his senior class, except one. These would be called his better behaviors. His father bails him out of any problems like speeding with the police by waving money in a judge's face and the DA lets Link go. If you have seen the Goldie Hawn movie, Private Benjamin, he's the male version except he is worse. Finally, the judge, who is a very good friend of Link's father, grows a spine and tells Link, his father, and his lawyer that he knows he hasn't been good for Link. Although his latest problem was not completely his fault, the judge feels that Link should go to prison or join the military. The judge knows he would be doing Link a favor. Link chooses the military and he is in for a very big surprise starting on the first day.

Badass: The Prequel by Leslie Johnson is filled with suspense, strong characters and makes you want for more! I could not put this down once I started and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

The consequences of that evening force him into a direction he had never intended to pursue.
Leslie Johnson has written a fantastic start to a new series. She ripped into my heart and did not let got with this gripping story. There were many twists and turns that have me dying to read more about the life of Link Duffy!

This is the prequel to the story and while it's short, it gives you so much background information about Linc and his life. I loved watching him go from spoiled rich kid who's daddy always gets him out of trouble to a moto soldier. Linc has to prove to the Army, and more to himself, that he is capable of making it through boot camp, AIT, follow-on schools for the Rangers and more training. I couldn't help but root for him to make it. I'm an Army wife and I know just how hard our guys and gals work to make it through and the amount of detail and facts that were put into the story made it that much more realistic. Linc does go through some struggles along the way and he has to overcome them in order to find himself. You'll fall in love with this bad boy and be left wanting for more.

Lincoln (Link) Duffy was a rich playboy screw up who spent most of his time getting into trouble. But when 1 action results in horrific consequences he has little choice, prison or the army. Getting through graduation a girl comes back into his life and things start to change around but it does not stay on track.
The author gave the characters very good interaction.This is definitely a book that I could not put down.
This is for any mature romance book lover because of sexual content.

This book is about Link who family are Billionaire's plus his father will pay for any wrongs that Link gets himself into, but there is this last problem that even his dad's money won't save him.
After Graduation Tradegy strikes and Link has to decide either prison or military for 4 years. Mattie is a girl who has had a one night stand with Link and they both have feeling's for each other has said she will wait for him..... but will she, and can they survive the four years, and what will happen when Link is released will they be able to carry on..... I loved this book and can't wait to get reading the rest of the series.... bring it on Link!!!!!

5+ stars!!! HOLY SMOKES what an awesome beginning to a series!! Leslie Johnson definitely gave it the correct title!! Link is Mr. rich guy and his mistakes are always swept under the rug until one incident happens. This is the Prequel and oh boy does it deliver a punch!!I could not put this book down and was reading as fast as I could, because I HAD to know what was going to happen! You will be captivated as soon as you start the first sentence!! I cannot wait to see where this series goes! I'm in love with Link and ready to strangle Mattie! This is going to be a MUST READ series!!

The main character in this book really grows up...the hard way through the course of this novel. You see him change from a rich, entitled, little-principled, spoiled brat whose world is totally rocked by the events in a 24 hour span of time. When he has to start making it on his own, you see him grow, gain a true friend, experience real pride in his accomplishments and face heartbreak. I still want to smack his parents. Maybe I will see them get their comeuppance before the end of the series. Of course, this one ends on a cliffhanger. Keeps me on the edge of my seat until next time.

This has been a brilliant read. You meet playboy billionaire Link who always has daddy bailing him out of trouble, at the after graduation party he dumps his girlfriend and goes to party. Mattie has always been the girl he wanted but she has Todd so when she wants to be with him one time he takes it but they are woken by his ex who creates a scene. Link and his mates still decide to do the jump but it goes horribly wrong and he is left with a choice military or prison. All I can say is you have to read this to find out more......

I received Badass The Prequel from the author in exchange for an honest review. I could not put this book down. Since it's a prequel, it was a quick read. Spoiled teen billionaire bad boy gets into trouble after a night of parting at his graduation party. His choice Army or face the possibility of prison. He proved to himself that she doesn't need his parents approval to succeed. Will it be enough to keep his long distance girlfriend happy? Will he send him back to his bad boy ways.

WOW! Awesome book. Leslie Johnson is on point with this book. Lots of drama and suspense. I can't wait for the next part to come out to see what Link does.

This is a short novella, prequel to A Billionaire Military Romance. Well written story telling how Lincoln (Link) Duff is forced into the military after graduation from high school, his growing up, taking responsibility and why he will stay in the Army. Looking forward to reading more of Link's story.

Love the story so far. Great introduction to Link. Can't wait to get more of him. I'm glad this shows that money doesn't always buy freedom. Link messed up and had to pay for it. We all need to learn our actions have consequences . Bravo Leslie a great start to a new character. Let's see what's in store for him. I wonder what will happen with Maddie....

All I can say is Fantastic this was such a great read. I so love a man in Uniform and he may be a billionaire but damn he's hot! How will cope with the life change he is forced to make after a tragedy happened...you absolutely must read this book!

Incredibly fast paced, Badass the prequel was an awesome read! Link thought he had it all, the money the girls the drugs and freedom. Will the army be his salvation or destroy him? Will Maddie wait for him to return? Will he find peace or will pasts ghosts come back to haunt him?

So much drama, adventure, love, heartbreak packed into a short book. What more would a girl ask for?! I'm definitely a sucker for a military man. With this being a prequel, I'm intrigued as to where this will go.

You hear stories through out life , like these and you think they are all made up! But they aren't, it happens and Duffy was one of those spoiled rich kids that you just loved to hate! You knew he was getting away with it . Then the judge and family friend tosses a wrench into those works and finally makes him pay for his life's mistakes that he was always gotten out of by his dads wealth and padding pockets. It ends up making him prove his worth and earns respect from others for what he's went through to become one of the best! I never seen it coming Mattie ending up going to another man and in the end boom ! WOW what a way to end things!!

I guess that paves the way for the Grace I’d read about in the synopsis for the rest of the series.
And, I guess, if Link (short for Lincoln) hadn’t been replaced, he’d have become a civilian & not continued on being a billionaire in the military, as required by the book series. 😆
But it was a tasty morsel. I don’t know that I can go through what sounds like ups & downs between Link & Grace, so I’ll just quit while I’m ahead.

Interesting start
This isn't my typical read. The writer kept me interested through the whole prequel and interested to know how the rest of the series goes. Link sounds like an awesome guy and Mattie a shy and timid girl. Love to see Link mature in this book. Want to see him find his awesome future. A good read for anyone for light romance.

Great background for the first book
This Prequel covers the transformation from an entitled, rich, teenage boy to a respectable and dependable man. Hard to think it only covered four years. It was really good, and makes me look forward to reading Book 1.
