I really enjoyed this version of Mozart's story. The illustrations were very colorful and highlighted the most beautiful parts of the story. In preparation for a performance to which I will take my children, we read multiple versions of the opera to them so that they understand the actions and stage scenes. Lee's publication does a better job of explaining Mozart's opera, and the illustrations were superior.

I like how the author challenges traditional stereotypes; the prince is rescued by the Three Ladies of the Queen of the Night.
