"Medical intuitive and healer Mannion, who claims to have cured her own long-term chronic illness in three weeks, offers a program aimed at helping readers do the same. Step by step, Mannion explains her healing and empowering techniques. She suggests a variety of helpful forgiveness and attention shifting, energy healing and affirmations, and ways to strengthen the chakras. Even absent a chronic illness, Mannion writes, discovering and strengthening "inner power"―she explains this as the connection between mind and body―is a form of healing. She says that by following her instructions, readers can first change thought patterns and then become a partner to the body's healing mechanisms. This book will appeal to those who may be frustrated with traditional medical avenues and are ready to explore alternative ways of healing themselves. " ―Publishers Weekly

A combination of deep wisdom and practical application, A Short Path to Change offers a path to healing for those who read it. Jenny Mannion takes her own experience and translates it into something that will work for those who seek positive change in their own lives. This book offers something completely different from any other self-help book I've ever read.

Are you a fan of the book The Secret? How about the TV show with energy healer Charlie Goldsmith? Then you should read this book!

It's funny, I just read The Secret for the very first time right before this book, and honestly, I think that A Short Path to Change is better. Author Jenny Mannion goes over many different topics, from law of attraction to energy healing. I just felt like I got so much more from her book.

There were so many inspiring quotes. Here's one I love.

In being present, you create your reality rather than letting your past stories create a repeat of the same experiences.

How true is this? Instead of worrying about your past, or even events coming up in your future, just focus on the now, and find something positive to be grateful for. It's amazing how much better I felt when doing this.

I loved all the chapters on gratitude, manifestation, and energy healing. I did have a little trouble connecting to the book in the beginning with the chakra sections. I'm not sure why.

Lastly, I had been suffering with a chronic eye condition for the past six months, but after reading The Secret, and A Short Path to Change, my eyes are so much better, it's really incredible. I was honestly at the point where the doctor didn't know what to do for me, and now my eyes are 98% better.

One thing I wish the author would consider would be a workbook or some way for readers to keep themselves and their minds in the right mindset. It's so hard to stay positive, but so worth it when you can find reasons to be grateful.

***I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.***

A little bit of mindfulness, a little bit of knowledge of chackra and the way to use and open them, a mix of meditation and PNL and the author helps you to get to use better the intimate connection between your spirit and your brain.
I'm a little bit out of my deep with this book so I'm not very able to decide if it can be useful or not, so try yourself.

You can't NOT do this. Seriously! This is the perfect book everyone, whether you are just beginning the life changing journey or have been on it for a while - this is what will make the journey that much more pleasant and oh so positive. The chapters are short, easy to read and the tools are so simple to implement. I read it from cover to cover so I could interview the author, Jenny Mannion. BUT, I am keeping it handy as many of these tools will be shared with my patients. If you think you don’t have time to read, if you think you can’t change your life, if you think nothing works – lose that thought and read this book. It’s chock full of tools, covers all the nuts and bolts that keep us stuck and it’s a fun read. You will not be disappointed – you WILL be grateful!

I read a lot of self-help books and after a while, they all start to regurgitate the same information. This book was different from anything else I've read. It combines meditation and NPL with chakras, ancient wisdom with practical knowledge. As such, everyone will be able to find a few tools to help them on their self-help journey.

But, I also think this is the weakness of the book. It covers so many topics in such short chapters, you can't relate well to everything. Some parts will speak strongly to you, others will leave you cold. Just read it all and take whatever you find useful. That's what I did and it worked for me.

I'm recognizing the truth within myself that I need to change and focus on myself and my surroundings instead of focusing on other people. This book was hit or miss. It talks about things that some people won't be comfortable with (ie chakra) so I don't know how effective it would be for a wider audience. I used it as a jumping off point, taking the bits and pieces I needed.
