Pat is the published author of over forty books of romantic fiction. Several of her titles have appeared on the New York Times Bestseller list. One of her books, "Ocean of Dreams", is based on her own shipboard romance when she met her former husband, a Norwegian engineer.
She is also a former Radio/TV Motorsports Journalist, covering NASCAR Grand National Stock Car Racing. Her work has won many awards by the National Motorsports Press Association.
Pat has cruised the eastern and western Caribbean extensively, as well as the Greek Islands, the fjords of Norway all the way to the North Cape, and has made several transatlantic crossings.
She prefers traveling single, because it gives her more opportunities to meet and make new friends. While she admits going solo is not for everyone, she says for her it is perfect, because she is an outgoing person, and, being a writer, enjoys meeting new "characters."
The only thing she does not like about traveling is having to leave behind her best friend and companion, Krysy, a 14-year old Wire-haired fox terrier.
I would say my rating is closer to maybe a 3.5 but 4 felt generous. Anyway, this addition to the series was actually pretty decent since the last couple have been duds for me. Love and Dreams focuses on Jade and Colt or John Travis Coltrane Jr. and their relationship that developed at the end of the fifth book.
Jade and Colt are no sooner married and separated tragically on their honeymoon where Jade is lost at sea, tossed from a ship but, miraculously she survives and is rescued by a man named Bryan who has just recently lost his wife who looks a lot like Jade. At first life on his private island in Bermuda is okay despite Jade's battle with grief being separated from Colt, fearing him dead. Jade must know the truth so she sets out to New York but under Bryan's thumb. Jade is determined to find out if Colt is alive and must know the truth regarding the situation. Love and Dreams is full of lavish settings, scandal, lies, and betrayal. The once constant physical and sexual assault is mostly gone from this story, thankfully but if you are sensitive to sexual assaults this book is not wholly graphic but it can be upsetting.
Overall the story is good, a bit convenient at times and it does get old with the constant talk of how wealthy the characters are but this story continues the long saga of Kitty and Travis and they are in this book as well as other characters we have been introduced to in the series before.
Also this is nitpicky but the author constantly mentions how Kitty's eyes are lavender but sometimes including in this book, she says they're green. It really doesn't matter but it's something I noticed.
