Excellent scifi/international thriller.
Great tech and world building.
Many, many characters but the books was organized in a way that made it relatively easy to understand.
Now I need to read the prior books in the series.

Pure Conspiracy - a review by Rosemary Kenny

The major world powers plus Canada etc, are convinced that the destruction of society and rise of anarchy is being orchestrated by a society of Judeo-Christian anarchists.

Allegations of corruption and conspiracy tear international bonds apart as whole governments are being overthrown more by cyber-terrorism than physical threat. A plethora of threat and counter-threat between rival powerful characters means disaster for all - especially 'the man on the street'.

A what if...? scenario that will keep you guessing to the very end of this extensively plotted thriller. Austin Dragon at his very best!

Consider this Volume 3.5 of the After Eden Series. The perfect introduction to my science fiction, international thriller series -- the Genesis of World War III. Five books done and four to go in the saga, but I wrote it so that you can still jump right in.

I just want to make it clear that I did receive this as a review copy but it has not impacted my review.

What I loved about this book was it finally tied together all three of the previous novels. Each of the previous novels tells a story of one or two religious groups in the future as they are battling for their survival on what is the even of WWIII. This book finally has all the religious groups with their problems figured out and can start acting on the world stage to ensure their survival in the new TEK world. This book does a perfect job with bringing all the stories together to form one story line to get ready for what will be WWIII in the upcoming books.

I am writing this after reading and loving the first three main books in the After Eden Series. While I gave this book four stars I can see how it could have been only three (after having read the first three books). The reason is that because this book seems to be intended as a bridge between the first three and what will be the last three and had a lot of exposition in the beginning as it tries to introduce a new reader to the near and present future. While it does a good job of that it made the first part seem very slow to me.

However once I was able to get past those first little bit it was the book and series I had come to know and love.

Overall this book has more of what you love: Religious Science Fiction (which seem to be a new category created by Dragon), Tek World Goodness, Political Intrigue, Conspiracy.

Great addition to the series and makes me excited for the books to come!

To be absolutely honest I had to wait a couple of days before applying myself to writing this review after finishing the book (public admission - I did recieve a free copy in return for an honest review). This novel is a welcome successor to "First Colony" and it is more complex and detailed at the same time.

Honestly - I prefer a more linear approach to a storyline than what Austin Dragon uses in this novel, and I really had a hard time getting started. But once I got my mind around the fact that he is writing this novel around the multiple points of view that weave into the events leading to the conclusion (but not the end) just as occurs in the real world. This gives the story verisimilitude as we are allowed to see into the thought processes of the multiple characters. So, enough about Austin's writing style.

For the believability of the story line itself - given the current political environment the world is experiencing and the religious impacts that are occurring due to that environment - and tossing into the mix the technical projections being bandied about by mega-corporations you end up with the fractured world of the Citadel series. Totally believable and engrossing at the same time.

This is a series I want to finish reading!

Pure Conspiracy is part of The After Eden Series. This novella is meant to tie together the books that are already released with the future books in the series. The events take place between book #3 and #4. While this is part of the series it can be read as a standalone.

Except for some flashbacks, the events in this novella take place from August to October in the year 2096. For me this book is a primer to summarize where the world stands at this point.

The world is radically different (in some ways) from our world today. It has been divided into three superpowers (United States, Islamic Caliphate, and the Chinese-Indian Alliance) and two rising nations (Russian Bloc and Brazil). There are religious enclaves (Faithers - New Protestant Order, New Jewish Continuum, New Catholic Order, Mormon Order, African Collective, Shogun, and Magi) that exist on their own. There are other areas outside the major cities and enclaves including the Troglands (imagine the Mad Max movies).

Some readers will find the format of this novella confusing due to all the multiple viewpoints. But like that it is written chronologically. It really helped me understand the timeline.

This is definitely a series that I want to continue reading!

This is a WWIII novel of what may be or what if’s. Austin Dragon takes it to a new level when he explains how conflicts and war begin and end. In the new tek cities AI is all about living it up while living with a lot of laws and non-religious. Beyond that are the religious factions that are out in the open in the dust laden lands that are not AI infiltrated. Religion takes a back seat in these stories and yet still controls many factions in what is to come and how it will be faced. Set in 2096 this book tells of the fore coming end of the world as it has now become. This is a series of books that can be read with or without each other.

This is another great book in the After Eden series. A taster of what is to come really. I felt like it is ramping up the tension ahead of Book 4 as it touched on subjects mentioned in book 3, Rising Leviathan, and I can't wait for the next instalment. The series is almost half way through now and it keeps gaining momentum leading up to the roller-coaster ending we are heading for, so before book 4 comes out I would highly recommend reading this and immersing yourself back in the After Eden series now. A highly enjoyable way to spend the dark Autumn evenings.

Different but distracted.

Reads like it is written to set the stage for a complex intertwined plot of at least six groups in future books. Uses many common names differently than their current meaning. So busy doing all this that the story is very difficult to follow or care about. Plot centers around everything we know today being gone and replaced with opposites. Clever, but I will invest my time reading more thought provoking and entertaining books. Some may enjoy this because it is so different, but not for me.

I really enjoyed this prequel to the After Eden series. The author has created a unique future world where politics and religion war with each other on a daily basis. While technology has advanced, tolerance for other's beliefs have greatly diminished leading into the post war world we find in the rest of the series. Definitely a great way to start the series.

I received a free copy of this book but the opinions expressed are solely my own.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I read this book as a stand a lone and have not read the other books in the series. I don't know if that would have helped me enjoy the book better or not. This is not your normal short novella. This novella is well written and explains the lives of those left and facing WWIII. Religious factions are a small part of the population but still are numerous. The energy of the book is great and the characters are well developed. A good read.

I had only breezed through "After Eden Series" due to the religious malarkey. As for this book, the real world we live in is so misguided by religion that the premise of this was not enjoyable. As for the machines, clones, etc, was nothing new. The reasons for wars, fights, and all the rest is simply a power struggle of demigods and the 'people' are always the pawns.

Overall, not impressed but the author's skill is very good. The descriptions and character interchanges is good.

I received this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway.

Pure Conspiracy: The Genesis of World War III was a very VERY confusing read. The book jumped all over the map in many ways...with regards to time period, religion, characters, writing style...you name it, there was a little consistency in how this book was written. I found the plot kind of confusing, and the overall story just plain bizarre. I would not recommend this book.

Cowboy Rabbi's carrying six-shooters. A Star Trek religion banished to Canada. New World super powers/technology vs. mutated religions on the run. This has a feel of what might happen in 2096 - Is Austin Dragon the next " Nostradamus?"

Religions anti-religions

World segmented along lines of beliefs. Drones clones machines web surveillance. The population mainly sheepeople. But the conflict isn't because of freedom and free will. Its power and control.
