Faith-pretty and smart
Alec-sexy and hot
Speaking the English word is a normal everyday occurrence for us but writing it and becoming one with the story is difficult to fathom. Some of us have it where we can put the pen to paper and create a whole new world beyond our current spectrum of everyday life. Those of us that do we call authors and Alec is just that but when the word becomes foggy at best and he can’t see beyond it things just freeze within his world. What happens when a beauty arises out of the fog and becomes his light? This is Faith and Alec’s journey.
The sex and the relationship between Faith and Alec is like a sponge cake from the mixing of the ingredients to get the perfect amount of air whipped in just right for the cake not to fall in the baking process. The rise of the cake depends on the heat but in my eyes also the heart that has put into making this delectable treat. Now remember not to peek inside by opening the oven because the air that hits the rising cake may just be the fall of it too.
Amazing is just the word for this read. The author brings much warmth in this emotional page turner that tissues are a must. A screaming towel or two might be a help also. Get the ice out too for this sensual hot read.
Will Alec and Faith find there delectable love within these pages? You're so gonna have to read to find out you might be in for a surprise or two.

oh...my...goodness! This sucked me in as much as Return To Me did! I was hooked. This story makes you feel like you're there, sharing there demons and following their journey to happiness. I cried, I laughed and I felt saddened as details were revealed. The writing, as always by Kelly Moran, flows freely and beautifully, suckling into the vortex of the story. With many emotions coming to light while reading this spectacular story, I can't help but think a book hangover has started.

Kelly Moran’s latest contemporary is a tender story of unrequited love and forgiveness. All of Me is another story that had me in tears due to the raw emotions expressed from both main characters and how they dealt with love lost, and their own personal demons that still haunt them years later.
Faith Armstrong is a breath of fresh air as she comes to life on the pages. She is strong yet fragile, perceptive yet clueless, and selfless to a fault. Her actions aren’t typical and that is what makes her unique to the romance story. Her backstory is heartbreaking and how she hopes things will change. It does change for her but not the way that she thought. It was truly beautiful to see her affect so many people in a short amount of time because of what she sees and says.
Alec Winston is a tortured soul who needs to let go of the past. His writer’s block brings him to Covington Cove at the request of his brother Jake. With Faith’s prompts he was able to breakthrough and a little bewildered on how she did it. He’s mesmerized by her voice and her ability to see thru him and only him, and not the façade he presents to the world as a best-selling author. He fights the attraction and knows there can’t be anything long term with Faith but he can’t help himself when they start a relationship. It was a difficult journey for him but so worth it once he lets go of the past and move forward with Faith in his life.
All of Me is a well written novel of life and how hard it can be when the past is holding you back. With Faith and Alec, you are immersed in their story and feel each hurt that is expressed in the author’s writing. It feels genuine and flows smoothly from beginning to end. The story picks up where the first story ends and those characters blend in and help Faith and Alec on the path to their happiness. I’m thoroughly impressed and highly recommend this story if you are a fan of contemporary romance.

I'm a bloody watering pot. An emotional roller coaster read. One moment I was bursting into fits of laughter and the next I was a bloody watering sobbing pot. Be prepared with at least a box of tissues.
Well developed characters and aligned correctly with the direction which the author intended throughout the story line. Moran continues to astonish me with every new book read. A story of an unexpected encounter when one was not expected. You just know when it’s right, that one person.
When one has never known love or ever been loved (not even by their own parents) and to finally find and feel it just to lose it.
Plot was well written. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend this brilliant read. A must read and it’s beyond worth it.

Alec Winston is one of the main characters, he is an author who is quite famous, but he has writers block, and his career is at risk. His brother Jake is getting married so he decides to return home to Wilmington beach.
Faith Armstrong is our main female character, my heart broke for her, I will not divulge the reason but you will clearly see for yourself when you read it. I will state that her parents treated her as if she did not exist. The only person at home who had shown her any affection was her sister but she had died and left her alone with her parents.
Faith ended up as a special needs teacher and was hired to take care of a special needs child and she too ends up at Wilmington beach. Faith is welcomed with open arms into the family, she really finds it hard to deal with as she has never felt she belonged, or that she was worthy of affection.
Alec soon notices Faith and before long they get to spend more and more time together. Faith begins to help Alec with his writers block, and soon he is writing again. They both carry a lot of baggage. He is running from his past just like she is from hers. I really do not want to divulge any more than I have because this is a terrific read, you will laugh, but you will also be very sad at times. The author just has this amazing talent of making everything so real, so believable, the characters are perfectly matched, and although this is the 2nd book in the series (I did read the first) this could be read as a standalone too because everything is explained clearly.

We all have baggage. Novelist Alec Winston and tutor Faith Armstrong are no exception. It is the way they manage to work through their baggage together, helping and complementing each other that is the best part of this book. I swear that Kelly Moran has a direct feed on what makes people tick and an amazing ability to put that insight down on paper in such a way that you just don't want to stop reading!

In all of me Kelly brings us back to Covington Cove. This time we meet Alec Jakes brother and Faith Ginnys new therapist. Alec comes home after being invited thinking it will be a good distraction and cure for his writers block. Faith moves here for her new job as Ginnys private Tutor hoping to start a new happier life, a fresh start. This book is full of gritty real life emotional situations. Even though they seem to be perfect for each other and fall for each other the shadows and demons that haunt them won't let go long enough for them to make it work leaving the only options to eithier fight for a life together or except it and move on separately no matter how much it works. I loved how Kelly didn't over do the drama there's a lot of it but it's all so natural and real. The story rely is gripping and beautiful. I feel like I'm saying "real" alot but that's what it is believable and real. The love scenes are hot and sexy I wish there were more but again people don't have or the stamina to have sex 29 times a day do it brought that realism back to the story. No matter what Kelly Moran seems to write I seem to fall in Love! Looking forward to more of the Covington Cove gang I'm hooked!!

This was such a great book. I was hooked from the first page. The characters are so well written they feel like friends. I didn't want to put it down. This is Alec and Faith's story and I found both to be very likeable characters. I really wanted to see both of them get their happily ever after. Of course there is some baggage from the past that gets in the way. It was a fun, emotional ride to see if they could overcome the obstacles in their way.
I definitely recommend this book. It is a very heartwarming read. This is book 2 in the Covington Cove series but can be read as a stand alone.

I really loved this book. It was one heck of an emotional roller coaster, but it was so worth the ride. Alec has been stuck in the past and the tragedy that changed his life. He thought he had worked through it. Faith has always felt invisible, she has always felt she wasn't worthy of love. When these two meet they have an spark neither knows what to do with. Can they help each other? This book really shows what the power of love can do. I loved seeing the characters from the first book and getting to catch up. I loved Alec and Faith, and I'm sure you will too!!

All of Me by Kelly Moran is the second book in her Covington Cove series. Alec Winston is our hero, as he returns to Covington Cove to attend his brother Jake and Lacey’s Wedding. Mia and Cole, our heroes in the first book are already married. This is certainly a family affair, and turns into another wonderful romance. The best part of Covington Cove is being able to spend time with the Covington’s.
Alex is a world famous author, who writes horror stories. By the time he arrives in Covington Cove for the wedding, he is in the midst of a long writers block. With the pressure high, that could threaten his career, Alex is not in a good frame of mind.
Faith Armstrong is our heroine, and she arrives around the same time to work with Ginny, who is Mia’s sister, and who has downs syndrome. Ginny lives with Mia and Cole, and it is Mia who hires Faith to help her, since Faith was the one who took care of Ginny at the home she was in before.
On his first night, when he is walking the beach, Alec sees Faith staring quietly out to the ocean. As each day passes, he becomes more and more intrigued by Faith. She is sweet, kind, and very caring with Ginny. But Alec can also see her shyness, and her reactions when people show interest in her.
What follows is a slow to build romance between two people who have strong issues that will create hardships in any possible long term relationship. Faith lost her sister years before, and has lived in an environment of her family being distant and showing no expressions of love. This has left Faith feeling inadequate and not deserving of a better live. She slowly comes out of her shell, especially because of Mia and Lacey, who befriend her and invite her to all the family gatherings. She senses for the first time in her life, since her sister died, what it’s like to have friends and be surrounded by a loving environment.
Besides his writers block, Alec has not allowed himself to commit to any woman, due to a terrible tragedy years before. He finds himself falling for Faith, and in the time he spends with her, she helps him slowly come out of his writers block. Will Alec find a way to get past his past, which is still ongoing, to commit to Faith.
This is a wonderful fun story, but it is also an emotional read; especially when we feel Faith’s pain, and her fear of opening herself to others. Not to mention when we learn more about Alec’s predicament, though I personally did not agree with him willing to give up his happiness for a lost cause.
Kelly Moran has written another heartwarming story, a great addition to her Covington Cove series. If you enjoy a sweet romance, small town atmosphere, great secondary characters, and a wonderful couple, then All of Me is the perfect read for you.

Faith Armstrong has finally gathered the courage to leave her past behind and accepted a job as a private tutor, hoping for a fresh start on the North Carolina coast. These two damaged individuals just might be perfect for each other.
Faith is incredibly strong although she doesn’t appear that way from the outside. But I absolutely fell for her. Alec has grown comfortable wallowing in his pain and misery. When Faith breaks through his gloom he can write again but can she kick start his heart as well? I’ll admit there were times in this book that I hated Alec for striking out in pain at the easiest target, Faith. But when he gets the stick out of his ass he is a pretty good guy.
This is the second in the series but can be read stand alone. Kelly Moran will have you laughing and crying and squirming and sighing. Another fabulous story.

This book is a sequel book, and I unfortunately didn't get the chance to read that book before reading this book. I was extremely happy to find that the first book wasn't a necessary read to understand this book, but I do want to go and read the first book now! Kelly Moran did a great job of making this book understandable for people who were reading this as a stand alone. I really enjoyed her writing style throughout the entire book. She did a great job of intertwining humor with realness.
Some of the realness came into play with the main female character, Faith. I felt so bad for her. I really enjoyed learning about Faith and her home life. I thought it gave a lot of dimension to her character. I also really liked the main male character, Alec. I liked how he was straight forward a lot of the time, and really humorous. However, he sometimes came off as a jerk. Another thing I really enjoyed was the romance between Alec and Faith. Their romance was frustrating at times, but I loved their chemistry. Alec made me swoon numerous times in this book.
As I mentioned earlier, the romance between Alec and Faith was frustrating at times. Their romance got extremely frustrating closer to the end of the book. Faith was naive and would always just walk away from the situations. Alec was extremely indecisive when it came to their relationship. Both of the characters became so annoying during those times. It became repetitive and just straight up annoying.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a sexy and fun read mixed with some real topics. It was the perfect summer read! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy summer book. I am really looking forward to reading more of Kelly Moran's books in the future.

Some of the realness came into play with the main female character, Faith. I felt so bad for her. I really enjoyed learning about Faith and her home life. I thought it gave a lot of dimension to her character. I also really liked the main male character, Alec. I liked how he was straight forward a lot of the time, and really humorous. However, he sometimes came off as a jerk. Another thing I really enjoyed was the romance between Alec and Faith. Their romance was frustrating at times, but I loved their chemistry. Alec made me swoon numerous times in this book.
As I mentioned earlier, the romance between Alec and Faith was frustrating at times. Their romance got extremely frustrating closer to the end of the book. This book is AMAZING. I LOVED it.
This book is about Alec and Faith. Alec came to Wilmington for his brothers wedding and Faith came for a job. They both got more then they expected when they met. Alec has stuff in his past that keeps him from wanting to open up and have a forever with someone. Faith has always felt invisible and afraid to want more because she never feels the love. If these two can over come all of their heartache from the past they can have a wonderful life together.
I love the characters in this book so I didn't want it to end. Their emotions really shine threw. You can feel the love and the loneliness that the characters feel. I found my self happy when they are and crying with them as well.
This book can be a stand a lone but if you have read the first book in this series then you will want to read this one. If you read this one first then you will want to go back and read Return To Me to find out more about these characters.

Alec Winston a best selling horror writer has major writers block. His book is due and if he doesn’t get something to his publisher soon he will be in breach of contract. His brother Jake is getting married in their home town of Wilmington Beach NC so he leaves New York and his creepy apartment behind to spend the summer home to try to get his writing juices flowing again
Faith Armstrong is a special needs teacher how leaves her difficult life behind and moves to Wilmington Beach to help tutor a previous student of hers with Downs Syndrome. She longs for a place to call her own and is hoping that Wilmington and Covington Cove is it for her. She is unsure of those around her and is hesitant to make new friends but slowly starts to feel excepted and as she begins to understand what true friendship means she also finds love.
Alec and Faith both come to the table with some heavy baggage but they chose to enjoy each other for the summer until Alec has to go back to New York. For reasons I don’t want to spoil, Alec feels that finding love is a betrayal and has chosen to not deal with issues in his past that could potential impact his future with Faith as well as his career. Faith is naïve and ultimately untrusting of people’s motivation but her sweetness and honesty shines through and not only impacts Alec but all those in Covington Cove.
This is book 2 of a set and I didn’t get a chance to read the first one before writing this review and it wasn’t needed. The back story is perfectly laid out and you see the connection between the characters from the beginning. I enjoyed the writing style with the multiple POV’s and found the mix of heavy story line and humor fantastic. I must have laughed out loud a dozen times through the book as I was tearing up for the pain Faith and Will had experienced. This is the first book of Kelly Moran’s I have read and I am looking forward to not only reading the first book of this series but looking into others.

A Poignant love story - Kelly Moran has a rare gift!

The more books of Kelly Moran’s I read, the more enthralled I am with her writing. I just finished her latest work, the second novel in the Covington Cove series - All of Me – and I was truly stunned. A poignant tale that caught me off guard emotionally, All of Me was the first book in nearly ten years that touched my heart and made me weep throughout the story. I wish I could give this novel more than 5 stars...and I don't say that often.
Perhaps one of the reasons All of Me resonated with me was the hero, Alec Winston, is a horror writer that lives in New York City – and he has horrible writer’s block. His brother Jake invites Alec to spend the summer at Covington Cove while they prepare for Jake’s wedding to Lacey Covington. He meets Faith Armstrong (the perfect surname for this character) on the beach as she gazes out on the ocean, a look of serenity on her face. Usually I bond with the male characters in a romance, but this time, it was Faith, the heroine of the story. Faith has traveled from Charlotte to work for Cole and Mia Covington, tutoring Mia’s sister that has Down Syndrome (the characters from Ms. Moran’s first Covington Cove novel, Return to Me). Faith is a plain faced, quiet girl that wants nothing more than to blend into the background and find contentment in life – certainly not the type of girl that a superstar writer like Alec would fall for. However, there is something about this woman that intrigues Alec...she doesn’t seek the limelight like his past conquests – in fact, she shuns it. Faith wants nothing more than peace in her life, and Alec is dying to know why. It doesn’t hurt that she piques his muse, and his writer’s block is effectively thwarted with her unconventional help. Alec finds himself reassessing his own life because of this woman, and as a reader, I did the same. I couldn’t put the book down until I knew they had their HEA.
The most notable part of this book has to be the author’s ability to get inside her characters’ heads and portray them with such skill that you’d think they were standing right next to you, breathing and talking. Faith’s backstory is complicated and gut-wrenching, as is Alec’s. They both have serious past issues to overcome. Ms. Moran’s heart-rending portrayal of Faith and Alec touched me. It reached me. Not many authors move me to the point where I’m reaching for the tissues in the second chapter. Both Alec and Faith are likable, and you root for them from the very beginning.
I’ve read several of Ms. Moran’s novels, and she has a rare gift – to see people, to get into their heads; she breathes life into her characters, and the reader feels transported into their heads, feeling everything that the characters feel. Her novels are so dynamic they make a reader introspect. And cry. I usually steer clear of novels such as this because I tend to internalize the characters’ pain. However, the beautiful HEA at the end of All of Me made it well worth my tears. Well done, Ms. Moran, well done.

Alec is a world famous author, who writes horror stories, He is a author with a writers block and a dead line to keep, but he wasn't getting any writing done so he returns to Covington Cove to attend his brother Jake and Lacey’s Wedding. he just didn't expect to find someone there who would helped him start writing or someone who might start him living again.
Faith arrives around the same time to work with Ginny, who is Mia’s sister, and who has downs syndrome. Faith was the one who took care of Ginny at the home she was in before. This was a big step for Faith never living on her own she was still living with her parents, this was a big step for her a new job a new town and a new life.
When Alec and Faith met they became friends knowing he would only be there for the summer there would be no long term relationship. Little did they know they would be helping each other heal form the passed Faith a live without love and Alec who lived with a guilt of a tragedy he had no control over but still blamed himself even though it wasn't his fault.The closer they got the harder it was for them to say goodbye.
I loved ever page of this book, it is a very emotional book both Alec and Faith have a lot to over come. This is a must read book. I highly recommended this book. 5 stars

"It was a dark and stormy night" in Alec's head. In the worst rut of his impressive career, bestselling horror author Alec Winston is stuck on those 7 words. At his brothers' prompting, he returns home to Covington Cove for a few months of R&R. Little does he know that he'll find his muse in one tiny wallflower of a woman named Faith Armstrong. Faith decided to give up her job in Charlotte to take on a private tutoring opportunity for Mia Covington's sister Ginny who has Down Syndrome. She's not used to attention from anyone, especially the opposite sex, so when she jump-starts Alec's creative juices, that's not the only thing that revs up.
ALL OF ME is the second book in the Covington Cove Series by the talented Ms. Moran. Our MC Alec is a new character, the brother of bit player Jake in the first book, Return to Me. First, let's talk Faith. Ms. Moran's gut wrenching description of her home life just made me so sad!!! She wasn't abused, mentally or physically, she had a nice middle class family that sat down to dinner every night, but she was an afterthought. A child born only for body parts to give her sick sister, then essentially ignored. It was heartbreaking!
Alec could've come off as a real asshat, but I surprisingly liked his blend of humor and "real talk." However, by the last third of the story I started getting frustrated by Faith's walking away and naïveté as well as Alec's continual back and forth, "will I or won't I" business. It grew repetitive and wasn't engaging, as I'd read it all before. That said, the two of them did have slow simmering chemistry and the sensually erotic sex scenes were all well written and tasteful (there just weren't enough of them!).

All Of Me is the second book in the Covington Cove series by Kelly Moran, which began with book one: Return to Me.
Though characters from book one are a big part of All Of Me, it centers on two new people not in Return To Me, Alec, who is a best-selling writer of horror fiction stuck with a bad case of writer's block, and Faith, a young woman starting a new beginning for herself, away from her home.
Alec is strong, but sensitive, a quality I very much appreciate seeing in a lead male.
Faith is sweet, shy and a bit vulnerable. I admit at first I was not sure I could see these two as a couple.
Both Alec and Faith have come to Covington Cove in Wilmington, NC for their own reasons. Alec, for his brother's wedding and Faith to take on a position as a care giver for Mia Covington's younger sister.
Mia was the heroine of Return to Me and it was nice to see her and Cole again and know their story continues to be a happy one.
Now back to Alec and Faith. Both of these people have some heavy emotional baggage.
Alec has been through a rough past which has caused him to withdraw from any real emotional connection with a woman. Faith has never felt loved by anyone, including her own parents.
The connection between the two of them starts out slow, but builds as the story moves forward.
I'm glad Kelly Moran knows how to write a realistic story and write it well, NO two people like Alec and Faith would come together in real life without some obstacles in their way and Ms Moran shows this in a way that is believable.
I felt Faith's insecurities as if they were my own and I sympathized with Alec's plight.

I am very pleased to say that this second book, All of Me, in the Covington Cove series is just as engaging, exciting and full of good ole fashioned love as the first book in the series, Return to Me. And let us not forget….the HOT factor. That was certainly present. From the beginning, I wanted to delve into the life of Alec and as I was introduced to Faith, her life as well! It certainly bode well that I was engaged so quickly.
The writing was so descriptive that at times I felt like I was there with Faith…visualizing seeing Alex on the beach. Seeing that hunky looking writer….sigh:
“Alec wasn’t standing in the sand any longer, but she could all but feel him still in front of her. There was a quiet, humming presence about him that his novels’ back cover photos didn’t portray….”
The intercommunications between Alec and Faith when they were just starting out really hit the “sweet and cute” chord for me:
She sighed and halted. “Mia thinks something’s going on between us.” She paused, then added, “NASA doesn’t need to be informed.”
Ha. Humor. He liked that. First, time to backtrack. “What does she think is going on?” Apparently he wasn’t above playing coy either.
One eyebrow lifted as her lips twisted in the cutest Oh, please expression. “You’re a writer. Figure it out.”
Frequently passages were written that demonstrated the total “shy” part of Faith’s personality and inexperience with the opposite sex:
She looked at Alec only to find him staring at her feet. A muscle ticked in his jaw. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “Forgot you said you painted your toenails. It’s a turn-on.” She looked down at her toes peeking out of her flip-flops, polished the pretty iridescent blue. A turn-on? Alec couldn’t possibly be flirting with her, could he? He really knew how to shut a girl up. Or knock her over.
Standard with love stories…there is baggage to deal with before there can be a happily ever after (we hope) and All of Me is no exception. Without giving away too much, I found Alec’s story very moving and compelling! WOW. It always amazes me when we as humans take on responsibility for actions which are truly not of our own doing…and this was captured so well in Alec’s storyline. And lest we forget, Faith has her own baggage she must attend to. The journey is hard and rocky…and a compelling read. The depth of story, along with the flirty aspects kept my interest throughout.
While this is book 2 in the series, it certainly can be read as a stand-alone title. I look forward to the continuing journey of Covington Cove….should there be more books on the horizon in this series! In the meantime, I plan to pick up another series by Ms. Moran, the first book in her Phantoms series, Ghost of a Promise.

She looked at Alec only to find him staring at her feet. A muscle ticked in his jaw. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “Forgot you said you painted your toenails. Standard with love stories…there is baggage to deal with before there can be a happily ever after (we hope) and All of Me is no exception. Without giving away too much, I found Alec’s story very moving and compelling! WOW. It always amazes me when we as humans take on responsibility for actions which are truly not of our own doing…and this was captured so well in Alec’s storyline. And lest we forget, Faith has her own baggage she must attend to. The journey is hard and rocky…and a compelling read. The depth of story, along with the flirty aspects kept my interest throughout.
While this is book 2 in the series, it certainly can be read as a stand-alone title. I look forward to the continuing journey of Covington Cove….should there be more books on the horizon in this series! In the meantime, I plan to pick up another series by Ms. Moran, the first book in her Phantoms series, Ghost of a Promise.

A really eye-opening story! Faith Armstrong has never been loved, valued or invited to be a friend to anyone. Faith feels isolated, like she doesn't belong anywhere. Why- because her selfish, self-absorbed parents conceived her to be an organ donor for Hope, her terminally ill sister. After Hope dies, Faith's parents simply ignore Faith since they have no more use for her. How sad. As a one-on-one tutor to a special needs student, Faith moves to North Carolina to begin a new life. She meets Alec, a mystery writer, and finally experiences the emotions/affection long denied her. But Alec has a secret and Faith may end up more heartbroken than before. This book was wonderful. I love that the author didn't have Faith and Alec meet, fall in love, and have everything be perfect. I find that most books like that make for a boring story.
In All Of Me, Kelly Moran's characters went through lots of ups and downs and I like reading that in a book.
Relationships are about love, but also require a lot of work and time and effort, to make something so wonderful and lasting.
And Kelly Moran showed that in this book. I can't wait to read more from her.

4 About Time Stars!

"The best things are unexpected."
Return to Me was my first read from this author and a great starting point for this series. In this second book, we have Jake the author with a sad past and a mean writers block and Faith, a girl with a huge heart but has never felt like she was wanted or belonged anywhere.
At first meeting these two have sparks but Faith's personalty confuses Jake but also draws him in.
"I never said you didn't have feelings. I'm saying you're afraid of the good stuff."
The more these two get to know each other the more they fall. Sadly they're both shackled to their pasts, and these pasts also define them, as well are the key to move forward.
Jake was right. She was different than the others. Not a distraction, but a destination. Part of him wanted to grasp that shred of hope for a future, for something permanent and real. Try his hand at normal again. But that wasn't possible and never would be.
Faith may have seemed aloof, but he suspected that under the surface there was strength and heart. Right next to insecurity and uncertainty.
When I first started reading this and Faith had her issues which were very warranted. I wished more heroines would be like her stoically strong, but moving forward and not letting her insecurities win. Then sadly like a good portion of most romance books Faith's insecurities got the better of her.
"Swear to God, Faith, one of these days you need to stop walking away from me or you're going to find yourself handcuffed to me."
As Faith started off strong her continuous running started to grow a bit tiresome. For me, Jake too started off strong and his past tore at me, but his stubbornness also got a bit tiring and I just wanted to throttle him to see what he was giving up.
In the end, there was no other choice but to leave. He'd made his mistakes, and he had to live with them.
Argh! Honorable yes but also frustrating. Why, Jake, why?
"No matter what crazy-ass thing my father says, just remember you like me and I'm good in bed."
Thankfully the other characters and part of the story took away from the repeatedness of their issues. This book is part two in a series, and could be read as a standalone, but reading it in the series order helps to give the book so much more depth.
Both of these two have their own brokenness and is what draws them together but it's also what holds them together.
And she wasn't exactly the kind of person who inspired unconditional love.
Poor Faith.
"What kind of man would that make me?"
"It would make you human."
Poor Jake and his demons.
"For what's it's worth, Faith, I'm sorry he's going to hurt you. He doesn't mean to do it, but he knows no other way,"
These two. Argh!
"There is nothing you need to do or say. Love is a gift, one I knew little about before you, and like any other gift, all you have to do is accept it. It doesn't need to be returned."
My poor heart hurt for these two, as they had to face their pasts and heal, so they could move forward and find the happiness they both deserved.
Did I like this story? Absolutely. It had some tiresome moments but otherwise it kept me content and engaged throughout. Did I connect with the characters? For the majority yes. Did I like the ending? Definitely, as it eased my hurting heart. Will I read more from this series, if it continues? Absolutely. As this series is super charming and sweet, and filled with hope, love and second chances.
